Bahrain Applauds ILO's Recognition of Palestine as Observer State

The International Labour Organization (ILO) has granted Palestine the status of a 'Non-Member Observer State' during its General Conference in Geneva—a move that has been warmly welcomed by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain lauded the ILO's decision, describing it as a "fresh wave of international affirmation" of the Palestinian people's right to full recognition and sovereignty. This elevation, Bahrain emphasized, is not merely a procedural upgrade, but a significant step in line with global support for Palestine's rightful place among the international community—particularly within the United Nations. 'This is more than a seat at the table. It's a message that echoes far beyond Geneva—that the world continues to recognize the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause,' the Ministry stated. Bahrain's response is anchored in its consistent and principled stance in support of Palestine's freedom, dignity, and self-determination. Citing alignment with UN General Assembly resolutions, the historic Bahrain Summit, and the Extraordinary Palestine Summit in Cairo, the Kingdom reiterated its full backing for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the two-state solution. The Ministry further emphasized that any path toward lasting peace must be paved through international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative—frameworks that ensure justice, coexistence, and stability across the region. As Bahrain joins other nations in applauding this diplomatic development, the message is clear: solidarity with the Palestinian people remains firm, and the pursuit of peace continues—one recognition at a time.
