Carlito not expected back with WWE, returns to Puerto Rico
He announced on X that his current contract was set to expire in late June and would not be renewed. Carlito took a lighthearted approach to the news on social media and joked that he was going to own the company before adding, 'All jokes aside, gracias WWE & especially the WWE universe. Los quiero mucho!'

Carlito returned to the company in 2023 when he returned at the premium live event, Backlash, to assist rapper Bad Bunny during a match in Puerto Rico. He spent most of his recent tenure in a supporting role as a member of the Judgement Day faction.
Carlito had originally joined the company in 2003 before leaving in 2010. The Puerto Rican wrestler only made a few sporadic appearances before returning full-time in 2023. He made two brief appearances on WWE programming, inducting his father Carlos Colón into the Hall of Fame in 2014 and participating in the 2021 Royal Rumble.
One of the more notable moments of his recent tenure was when he was speared by Bron Breakker.
Carlito's WWE career achievements
Carlito won the United States Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the WWE Tag Team Championships and the World Tag Team Championship.
What's next for Carlito?
Carlito isn't looking to slow down his career after winning the World Wrestling Council Puerto Rican Championship. The 46-year-old wrestler started his professional wrestling career with WWC in 1999. He had previously returned to WWC in 2010.

Nick attended the event in honor of his late father on Saturday, Aug. 2NEED TO KNOW Nick Hogan attended WWE's SummerSlam in honor of his late father Hulk Hogan on Saturday, Aug. 2 During the event, Nick was seen getting emotional as a WWE tribute was shared in memory of Hulk Hulk, real name Terry Bollea, died from a heart attack at age 71 on July 24Nick Hogan had an emotional moment as his father Hulk Hogan was honored by the WWE at SummerSlam. On Saturday, Aug. 2, Nick, 35, was seen getting choked up as a tribute played for the late wrestling icon while attending the WWE summer event with his wife Tana Lea at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. In a video of the tribute posted on X, WWE announcer Michael Cole said, 'Hulk Hogan was larger than life, sports entertainment personified [and] the greatest performer in our history.' 'He was undefeated [at SummerSlam] … just so many great moments, too many to talk about really in the career of a man who carried professional wrestling on his back for three decades. Rest in peace brother,' he concluded. As Hulk's classic theme song 'Real American' played at the end of the tribute, Nick was seen holding back tears in the crowd as he stood clapping alongside his wife. He then made a prayer motion and placed his hand on his chest as fans cheered in the stadium. Hulk, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died of a heart attack at age 71 on July 24. He shared his two children, Nick and daughter Brooke, 37, with his ex-wife Linda Hogan. Nick's appearance at WWE SummerSlam comes after he attended WWE's Monday Night RAW program, where another tribute was given to his late father by the wrestling community on July 28. At certain points during the tribute, Nick appeared to wipe away tears and clapped along with the audience while standing center stage with the show's wrestling roster alongside his wife Lea, who was also emotional as she held his arm. WWE SummerSlam 2025: What Time Does Night 2 Start On Sunday?
WWE has a tough job on its hands. Following Night 1's explosive main event and surprise ending won't be easy, but Night 2 of SummerSlam has its own lineup of potentially explosive matches. The action begins at 6 p.m. ET. You can watch it on Peacock. Here is a look at the entire card. WWE SummerSlam Sunday Match Card - August 3 Undisputed WWE Championship Street Fight John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes Women's World Championship Match Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY Intercontinental Championship Match Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles United States Championship Steel Cage Match Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu Women's Intercontinental Championship No Disqualification Match Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria WWE Tag Team Title Six-Pack TLC Match WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks vs. The Street Profits vs. The Motor City Machine Guns vs. #DIY vs. Fraxiom vs. Andrade & Rey FenixWhat Matches Could Steal the Show From John Cena and Cody Rhodes in the Main Event? Everyone will be waiting for the John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes main event. There is a chance that we could see all kinds of outside interference in this Street Fight. I'd be surprised if WWE didn't at least try to match what they accomplished on Saturday night with Seth Rollins' cash-in. That said, keep an eye on the TLC Six-Pack Tag Team Match. The number of athletes combined with the stipulations has my expectations freakishly high for this one. I'm hoping Nathan Frazer, nor anyone he's in a spot with, gets injured. Frazer is a bullet when he's in the ring, and sometimes I worry he's moving a little too fast. It's happened before. Hopefully, he has it all under control and his brilliance will shine through. I'm also fired up for Naomi's title defense against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Naomi is on a run that is similar to what Liv Morgan experienced in 2024, when she was my Female WWE Superstar of the Year. If Naomi can keep the title through the next two PLEs and continues to do the character work that she's done recently, she'll have the spot on lock. Lastly, my eyes are wide open for the Steel Cage Match between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. The latter has found a way to re-invent himself with some humor, and he now has another faction. I could see either person going over, but it could be time to elevate Jacob into the premier title picture. Yadadamean? Be on the lookout for a post-PLE awards piece.
