Crews recover submerged vehicle from Solano County boat launch
The Suisun City Fire Department said it responded to the Suisun City boat launch for a vehicle in the water. When crews arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle underwater. Officials said the occupants had safely evacuated the vehicle before first responders arrived.

With the help of the Suisun City Police Department and other Solano County emergency crews, SCFD was able to recover the vehicle.
'This joint effort highlights the strength and dedication of our volunteers and first responders working together to serve the community,' SCFD said.
It is unclear what caused the submersion.

The ARCA and Truck series will race Friday at Watkins Glen International as the road course in New York opens its annual NASCAR weekend. SoftBank Group Corp. is the buyer taking ownership of Foxconn Technology Group's electric vehicle plant in Ohio, a move aimed at kick-starting the Japanese company's $500 billion Stargate data center project with OpenAI and Oracle Corp. SoftBank, which has struggled to create a financial blueprint for Stargate, had approached Foxconn to get the Apple Inc. supplier on board with its plan to build data centers and related infrastructure throughout the US, people familiar with the matter said. The EV plant sale is a result of those efforts by the Japanese investor, they said, asking not to be named as the discussions remain private.

Paddleboarder helps rescue submerged car with passengers inside
A car was rescued after getting trapped underwater on the only road connecting Mersea Island to the UK mainland. The Strood - a tidal causeway also known as Mersea Road - often floods during high tide, cutting off access for vehicles and pedestrians. Mat Harvey, 32, was paddleboarding nearby when he spotted the submerged car with an elderly couple still inside. Two RNLI rescue team members were already on the scene, but Mat jumped in to help. A dramatic video shows the trio pushing the waterlogged vehicle to safety as the couple sat inside, cold and soaked. The pair were evacuated from the car and treated by a waiting ambulance.
