Trump confirms attendance at ASEAN summit in October: Malaysia PM
"I would like to inform (the Parliament) that at 6:50 am (2250 GMT) today I had the opportunity to speak with the President of the United States, Donald Trump. He confirmed that he will be attending the 47th ASEAN Summit in October," Anwar told Malaysian MPs in a speech.
A tariff deal between Malaysia, facing a threatened 25 percent levy, and the United States will be announced on Friday, Anwar added.

"I want to make sure the money is spent wisely and is spent judiciously, and that food is distributed in a proper manner," he said.

Israel escalates its attacks on Lebanon, bombs Hezbollah ‘explosives and precision missiles factories'

(AFP) Israel launched new strikes on Lebanon on Thursday on what it said were Hezbollah explosives factories, in the latest breach of a ceasefire. Defene Minister Israel Katz said the targets included Hezbollah's 'biggest precision missile manufacturing site'. The army said it had hit weapons production and storage sites in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Lebanon's National News Agency said Israeli warplanes were flying low over the town of Hermel. It said the strikes also hit the areas of Mahmoudiyeh, Al Khardali and Jarmaq. Israel's air force also attacked an eastern mountain range between the towns of Khreibeh and Brital, the agency said. Israel said Hezbollah had 'tried to rehabilitate the sites and capabilities, actions that constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon'. Zelensky says signed bill ensuring anti-graft agencies' 'independence'
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday he had signed a bill to replace a law that curbed the powers of anti-graft bodies after the new legislation was voted through in parliament.
