Lauren James set for spell on sidelines with ankle injury
Now the 23-year-old's club has confirmed she faces a spell on the sidelines, although they have not specified how long she is expected to be out.

A statement on the club's official website said: 'Chelsea can confirm Lauren James sustained an injury while on international duty with England at Euro 2025 and will be sidelined for a period of time.
'The Blues forward helped the Lionesses win the tournament – starting four matches, including the final against Spain, and scoring twice – but sustained an injury en route to England being crowned European champions.
'James is now back with Chelsea and will undergo a period of rehabilitation with the club.'
James played a key role for Chelsea last season, helping the club to win a domestic treble and reach the Champions League semi-finals, in the process earning herself a share of the Player of the Year trophy with international team-mate Alessia Russo at the Women's Football Awards.

There will be physical battles that lie ahead, and that seems his biggest challenge to date, but sources have spoken with real excitement with regards to the centre-back's future and where his career trajectory potentially points to. Cardiff triggered a year's option on his deal, meaning his current contract expires in June 2026. It means he is free to talk to foreign clubs from January as things stand. When asked if the club were in active talks with Lawlor over a new deal, the head coach replied: "Yes. "I just make my feelings clear to the ownership and to Patrick (Deboys, head of recruitment) about how important he is to the club, how we value him and where we see him for the future. "I don't know on timescales. "Our commitment to Dylan, in terms of how much time we've invested in him in training and how much opportunity we've given him to play is clear. "Hopefully he feels the same way and he can come to an agreement that is satisfactory for him and the club get what we want as well." Lawlor is just one of a number of young talents making a name for himself in a Bluebirds shirt this season. "The room for improvement in his game — and I mean this in a positive way — is so great because of what he could achieve. "The excitement within the staff and the club about what he could do is really tangible. "The biggest thing for me is that his mentality is incredible. They are different characters, him and Rubin, but Joel's appetite to improve, and his energy from day one has blown us away. "Now you see the skill level that we've seen, it's starting to become really evident. "We want that competition for places in the middle of the pitch. Initially it was Joel, then it was David Turnbull — and David played so well against Rotherham — but Joel played so well on Tuesday night against Wimbledon.
