Saad Lamjarred's Appeal Trial Postponed for Further Investigation
Rabat – Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred's trial has been postponed, with reports saying that no information has been released on the new hearing date. Lamjarred faces rape charges after French woman Laura Prioul filed a lawsuit against him in 2016. AFP quoted sources close to Lamjarred's case, noting that the court's decision to postpone the trial was due to the need for further investigation. The victim's defense said the new appeal trial reflects the 'hope of full and final justice,' but also cited a 'new ordeal' for their client. In February 2023, a court in Paris sentenced Lamjarred to six-years in prison under charges of aggravated rape and assault. Seven out of the nine juries found him guilty, and the judge sentenced him to six years in prison. The prosecutor initially asked for a seven-year prison sentence and for the defendant to be banned from entering France, but the artist maintained that he is innocent. Following the initial verdict, the controversial singer's defense announced an appeal process. This is not the only alleged rape case that Lamjaraeed is facing. Another woman accused him of similar acts in Saint-Tropez in 2018, and he has also faced similar accusations in New York. Lamjarred is renowned in the Middle East, North Africa, and the whole Arab world, with trending songs in other countries as he regularly features alongside international artists from India and beyond. He has 15.6 million subscribers and more than 15.3 million followers on Instagram. Tags: Saad Lamjared trialSaad Lamjarred

Hakimi Reborn: From Full-Back to Final Hero
Achraf Hakimi has enjoyed the season of his life at Paris Saint-Germain, playing a key role in the club's first-ever Champions League title under Luis Enrique. The Moroccan full-back had looked uncertain when the Spanish manager took over in 2023. His form was patchy, and there were doubts about his fit in a four-man backline. But Enrique had other ideas. Rather than limit him to defensive duties, the former Spain boss gave Hakimi license to roam. He was used as a winger, a wide midfielder, and was even tucked inside at times. Hakimi ended the 2024–25 campaign with 23 goal contributions, nine goals and 14 assists. No other defender in Europe could match that. In the Champions League, he was crucial. He found the net in the quarter-final against Aston Villa, scored again in the semi-final against Arsenal, and broke the deadlock in the final against Inter Milan. The opener was a slick team move, finished with a precise tape-in. 'Luis Enrique has helped me reach a level I've never experienced,' Hakimi said before the semi-final. His teammates clearly agreed, naming him vice-captain behind Marquinhos at the start of the season. PSG moved quickly to tie him down, offering a new deal until 2029, one that puts him among the club's top earners. Against his former club Inter, Hakimi showed maturity. He didn't celebrate his goal, but gave Federico Dimarco a torrid time until the Inter defender was hauled off. With his pace, sharp decision-making and superb reading of space, Hakimi has become much more than a full-back. He's a leader, a threat, and a key cog in a PSG side that finally conquered Europe. Elmehdi El Jamari Aims for Pivotal Knockout Win, Eyes World Title Fight
Casablanca – Moroccan Muay Thai star Elmehdi El Jamari is putting the final touches on his preparations for a pivotal showdown at ONE Championship show ONE Fight Night 32 where he hopes to score a career-defining win and avenge his brother's loss to his opponent. El Jamari is set to face Aliff Sor Dechapan in a pivotal strawweight Muay Thai contest that could decide the next challenger for the world title inside Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium in the morning hours of Saturday, June 7. After scoring a spectacular knockout over Thailand's Thongpoon PK Saenchai on his debut in April, El Jamari is confident that he can secure a second finish in two promotional fights against a more difficult opponent this Saturday. The in-form Aliff, who is entering the fight after scoring three consecutive wins, is a dangerous fighter known for his powerful kicks and owns a 7-centimeter height advantage over the Moroccan. Aware of his next opponent's strengths and weaknesses after watching his fights closely, El Jamari has put together a game plan to land one of the biggest wins of his career. 'Aliff is a very different fighter to Thongpoon. He is much taller and has quite a different fighting style. However, we have put together a game plan that will surprise people once we are in the ring together,' El Jamari. Although he is remaining tightlipped about the details of his game plan, El Jamari made no secret of consulting his older brother and fellow ONE athlete Zakaria about facing his former opponent. Zakaria had suffered a disappointing first-knockout loss at the hands of Aliff last November – and Elmehdi is trying to build on the lessons learned from Zakaria's experience and is hoping to avenge his brother's defeat. 'Zakaria explained what happened during the fight. He doesn't want me to commit the same mistakes he made. He told me Aliff is a good fighter, but he is not a great fighter. I think Zakaria's biggest mistake was he put his hands down,' Elmehdisaid. 'I cannot wait for the fight. I cannot wait to enter the ring. It will be vengeance that rises to the level of our expectations,' he added. Despite focusing on his difficult mission in the upcoming bout, the 27-year-old Moroccan is already dreaming of challenging Thai star Prajanchai PK Saenchai for the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai world title. 'I think Prajanchai is a very experienced fighter. But his time is up. He is aging and this is the time for a new generation of fighters. I hope I will defeat Aliff first and then Prajanchai, too,' El Jamari said. Ahead of the pivotal matchup on Saturday, the talented multi-time Morocco, Arab, and Africa champion is promising an exciting all-out 'war' against Aliff and hopes to finish his opponent via knockout. 'It will be war. And the war will not go into the third round. I will finish him via knockout,' El Jamari said. Tags: El JamariFriday Fight Nightsone championshipONE Fight Night
