Serie A Head Of Referees Delivers Major VAR Update: 'Referees Will Explain VAR Decisions In Stadiums During Games'
Speaking to TMW, Rocchi admitted the league will introduce one crucial change to an established system.
According to Gianluca Rocchi, Serie A referees will explain VAR decisions live in stadiums during matches.
This approach has been common practice in several leagues around the world.
Indeed, referees in the Russian Premier League and Major League Soccer have been doing this for the past 12 months.
At the same time, controversial VAR decisions have often sparked considerable debate in Serie A over the past few years.
Unfortunately, Inter frequently found themselves on the receiving end of those contentious calls.
Simone Inzaghi was often vocal in his criticism, expressing frustration over decisions that ruined Inter's season.
However, there was nothing the Nerazzurri could've done to reverse those outcomes, as officiating errors remained beyond their control.

VAR decisions were often vague throughout the 2024/25 season.
Though the upcoming changes won't affect the decision-making process, they will at least provide more clarity.
'The big news for next season will be on-field announcements,' Rocchi admitted.
'The referee will be able to explain the decision made after a VAR intervention directly to the stadium and on TV.
'This is an important step forward in communication, which we have been managing transparently for years,' he continued.
'Now, however, the explanations will be in real-time, in front of everyone.
'We will prepare thoroughly,' Rocchi added. 'Especially from a communication standpoint.
'We have a selected group and want to standardize language and content to be clear with the public.
'There is no maximum time limit for on-field announcements because every referee has their own style, language, and reaction times.
'We still need to work on standardizing the content of the explanations.
'But we will not impose strict limits: the quality of communication will matter most.'

Chelsea players to donate portion of Club World Cup winnings to family of Diogo Jota and André Silva
Chelsea players have decided to donate a portion of their Club World Cup bonuses to the family of Diogo Jota and André Silva, according to The Athletic. Jota and Silva were killed in a July car crash in Spain. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] The decision, made jointly between the players and the club, will see a $15.5 million fund distributed equally among the players with an equal payment made to Jota's family. According to The Athletic, "the overall value of each portion tallies more than $500k before it's subjected to currency conversion costs from US dollars into UK pound sterling, alongside relevant employer costs, taxes and social security costs." Pedro Neto, who was teammates with Jota with Portugal and Wolverhampton Wanderers, signed with Chelsea in 2024. Chelsea won the expanded FIFA tournament last month after beating Paris Saint-Germain in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The team's run in the event brought in an estimated $114.6 million to the club. Tributes to continue for Jota, Silva The soccer world began paying tribute to the brothers following their tragic deaths in early July. Moments of silence were held at matches, including the Women's EUROs and Club World Cup. Other tributes were seen at Oasis' first reunion concert in Wales and by players around the world performing Jota's video game celebration. Ahead of Friday's Premier League opener against Bournemouth, Liverpool have announced they will dedicate the cover of its match day program to Jota, who played 123 times for the club, and Silva. All players across the league will wear black arms bands this weekend and will take part in a moment of silence. Jota will also be immortalized with a statue at Anfield, Liverpool's home ground, and players will wear a "Forever 20" emblem on their jerseys this season in reference to his number. The No. 20 has also been permanently retired by the club, the first time that honor has been bestowed on a former player in club history. Jota's death led to a poignant moment of silence at the Club World Cup match between Fluminense and Al-Hilal last week, as Al-Hilal defenders Rúben Neves and João Cancelo — two of Jota's Portugal teammates — became emotional. The next day, Neves and Cancelo flew back to Portugal for Jota's funeral, in which Neves served as a pallbearer.

🎶 Pop predicts Premier League 25/26: Picture Parlour (Everton) 🔮
The new Premier League season is almost upon us and to celebrate, we have enlisted the help of some football-loving pop stars to preview and predict the coming campaign. Click here to read all of the interviews! Today we've got Katherine Parlour and Ella Risi from the band Picture Parlour, who are Everton fans! Hi Picture Parlour. What are you hoping to see from Everton in the 2025/26 Premier League season? To get into the top 8, especially with the new signing of Jack Greaslish, and the rest of the new arrivals. I also think the women could potentially win the league. Their new home at Goodison will bring them that extra bit of luck. What is your hottest take or boldest prediction for Everton's 2025/26 Premier League season? To qualify for Europe and hopefully win a trophy. Maybe the FA Cup like Crystal Palace did last season. If you were going to bet your life savings on something definitely happening to Everton in the 2025/26 season, what would it be? Stay in the Premier League, or I've only got £3.50 and the pies are £6.20. The whole club is going to improve with the new ground and new players. Other than your own, which team or player are you most excited to watch in the 2025/26 season? Definitely not the Reds! To see what Chelsea's Cole Palmer is going to achieve and to see how well our women's team does in their new ground at Goodison. What do you predict will be the first managerial change of the 2025/26 season? Tough one. Maybe the Leeds manager, Daniel Farke, or one of the other promoted clubs. Who will turn out to be Everton's signing of the summer? Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Who will finish as the Premier League's Player of the Season? Cole Palmer for Chelsea. Who will win the Golden Boot? Erling Haaland for Man City. Which club will win the Premier League title? Everton…. or Man City. Finally, which three clubs will be relegated? Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland. Keith Andrews: Yoane Wissa unavailable for Brentford's Premier League opener due to disrupted summer
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews has said he has decided Yoane Wissa will be unavailable for Brentford's Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest due to the forward's uncertain future. The Athletic reported in July that Brentford rejected a £25million bid from Newcastle for Wissa, while Forest also had an approach knocked back. The 28-year-old forward subsequently withdrew from Brentford's training camp in Portugal, and he has not featured in any of the club's pre-season fixtures. Advertisement 'I have made a decision he is not (available),' Andrews said at a news conference on Thursday. 'It has been a very disrupted pre-season and the interest in Yoane is very clear. 'As a head coach, I want Yoane to be in the building and be a part of the first team and the squad. I see that. But I am very understanding of his situation. 'I have a very good relationship with him, and that will persist. But we have to focus on the players who are ready. But we have to focus on the players who are ready, and I don't think Yoane's in that space. He won't be involved.' Andrews said he 'would like Wissa to be part of the first team squad' but it is 'very hard to know' what will happen in relation to the forward's future. Wissa scored 20 goals last season — 19 in the Premier League — and was also the subject of interest from Forest in January, with Brentford rejecting a £22m bid. The west London club's valuation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo international is over £50m. Last season marked his strongest goalscoring return for Brentford since signing from French side Lorient in 2021. Wissa's contract expires in June 2026, but his existing terms include an option for a further 12 months. Brentford's opening Premier League match away at Forest on Sunday will mark Andrews' first competitive match as head coach, after succeeding Thomas Frank in a summer of widespread change at the club. Their other 20-goal forward, Bryan Mbeumo, departed in a £71m deal to Manchester United, while captain Christian Norgaard left for Arsenal. Spot the pattern.
