In another accident Wednesday night, Triveni, 40, died after a speeding truck knocked her down near Guttahalli. She was returning home on her scooter when the truck hit her.

Bodies of 2 accident victims swapped, kin find out just before cremation
Meerut: In a major goof-up by health staff at Palwal civil hospital in Haryana, bodies of two Meerut-based traders -- Abhinav Agarwal, 42, and Amit Agarwal, 45 -- who were killed in a road accident in Palwal were allegedly swapped and handed over to the wrong families in UP after postmortem. A senior health department official at Palwal hospital said an investigation has been initiated. The "mix up" was first noticed by the family of Abhinav on Tuesday morning after they removed the shroud -- just before the 'Ganga jal' ritual and cremation. Abhinav's father, Jitendra Agarwal, said the tags must have been exchanged on the wrapped bodies when they received it from govt mortuary. "The staff there insisted not to check the bodies, as they were in bad shape (after the accident). We would've cremated the wrong person had we not uncovered the face for 'antim darshan (last glimpse)'. Additional trauma amid the grief would've been immense for the two families," he said. Amit's father, Amarnath Agarwal, confirmed they discovered the error when alerted by Abhinav's family -- also minutes before the last rites. Panchkula: 83-yr-old duped of ₹59 lakh in ‘digital arrest' scam, 2 arrested
The district cybercrime police have arrested two individuals allegedly involved in a digital arrest scam that defrauded an 83-year-old city resident of ₹59.90 lakh. The arrested accused have been identified as Manish and Amit, both from Hisar. Both the accused were produced in a local court on Wednesday and have been taken on a five-day police remand for further interrogation. (HT photo for representation) The victim from Sector-16 filed a complaint on July 21. In his complaint, the victim said the fraud began on January 16, when he received a WhatsApp call from someone posing as a police officer from Hyderabad police headquarters. The imposter falsely claimed a money laundering case had been registered against him and demanded his immediate presence in Hyderabad. When the elderly man stated he couldn't travel, he was informed via video call that his Aadhaar was linked to a fraudster named 'Goyal' who had fled the country. Consequently, the victim was digitally arrested and instructed to remain on video call without informing anyone, under threat of dire consequences. Over three days, the fraudsters manipulated and coerced the victim into withdrawing and depositing ₹59.90 lakh. Upon realising he had been scammed, the victim promptly lodged a complaint. Both the accused were produced in a local court on Wednesday and have been taken on a five-day police remand for further interrogation.

In Haryana's Hisar village, e-tailer's delivery boy attacked, robbed
1 2 Hisar: A 23-year-old Flipkart delivery boy was attacked and robbed by an unidentified youth near Rawalwas and Patan villages on July 25, according to police on Wednesday. The victim, Amit, a resident of Harikot village, suffered a head injury and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. An FIR was registered at Sadar Police Station under Section 309(6) (robbery) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita on Amit's complaint. In his statement, Amit said he was on duty delivering parcels when the incident occurred. While heading towards Dhiranwas village, he was stopped by a youth on Patan Road near Rawalwas Khurd. The youth claimed that three parcels—addressed to Satyaveer, Raveena, and Ramesh—belonged to him. "As I began checking the parcels, he suddenly attacked me on the head with a sharp weapon. I collapsed, and he snatched my bag containing some parcels and Rs 3,000 in cash before fleeing on a motorcycle," Amit said in his complaint. After regaining consciousness, Amit managed to reach the Rawalwas Khurd bus stand on his motorcycle, where he fainted again. Passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
