Dayton police have made an arrest in connection to a deadly shooting that happened on W Grand Avenue in May.

On May 29th, around 10 a.m., 911 callers reported gunshots, people running, and an SUV left behind with a possible victim.

When officers arrived on scene they found a victim, 19-year-old Darion Jones, dead from gunshot wounds.
A standoff between Columbus police and a suspect who was wanted in connection to this Dayton homicide happened two days ago.
Thursday, News Center 7 tracked down Dayton arrest records after learning police had detained a homicide suspect after the Columbus stand off.
Police records now show an arrest made 11:29 p.m. Tuesday night in connection to the W Grand Avenue homicide, but the person's name was redacted.
Montgomery County Jail records show 20-year-old Danny Gladden Junior was booked into jail at 11:29 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of murder.

Driver charged with aggravated assault after drive-by shooting in Athens

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department took a driver into custody after an officer saw a vehicle driving away at a high speed early on Thursday morning. At around the same time, police said a 911 call came in about a reported drive-by shooting in the area. Police said when the officer performed a traffic stop, the driver, identified as Myles Brown, threw a gun out of the window of the car before coming to a complete stop. Officers determined the vehicle was leaving the scene of the shooting incident from the 911 call after their investigation. Brown was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, drive-by shooting, possession of a firearm during commission of certain felonies, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and multiple traffic violations, police said. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a 12-year-old who got caught in the crossfire of a shooting. Ja'nylen Greggs died on Thursday at an Atlanta apartment complex along Cushman Circle. Police said two groups were fighting when one group got into a car and opened fire on the other. This is what the impact of gun violence is,' Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said at a news conference. Police said they are pursuing all leads to find the groups responsible.
