The Los Angeles Dodgers suddenly have a Hyeseong Kim problem.
However, it seems to be a good one.

Kim, whom the Dodgers signed during the offseason, was expected to be a big league player from day one, but struggled in spring training.
The Dodgers sent him to Triple-A, hoping that the 26-year-old would figure things out offensively.
After impressing in the KBO throughout his professional career, which started when he was 18, Kim eventually got the opportunity to play in the big leagues for the Dodgers when injuries occurred.
The Dodgers knew they had something with him, but there were questions about how he'd perform offensively.
Fast forward to June 1, and the Dodgers love him, including Dave Roberts.

Roberts said that there's something about him that brings excitement to the team, which can't be forgotten when decisions must be made in the next few weeks.

"Hyeseong, there's just something about him, that youthful enthusiasm, that joy," Roberts said, per a video on Dodgers Blue YouTube. "He's just happy to be out there, happy to be helping the team, and guys feed off that energy."
When asked if there would be any opportunities for Kim to play in June, Robert admitted there would be, but added that he would have the day off against the New York Yankees on Sunday.
"Yeah," Roberts responded. "He won't play tomorrow, but he'll be back in there on Monday."
Tommy Edman is one of the best second basemen in Major League Baseball, perhaps the best.
The Dodgers not playing at Edman daily would be a disservice, but perhaps there's a scenario where Kim could move over to third base.

That's ultimately a decision the Dodgers will have to make sometime in the next few months.
They need Him in the lineup, as he's certainly earned it.

Shohei Ohtani's daughter gifted ‘new car' by Dave Roberts

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gifted Shohei Ohtani's baby girl quite the gift. Right before the boys in blue hosted the New York Mets, Roberts presented Ohtani with a remote-controlled pink Porsche. Advertisement 'That was a present from me and my wife to Shohei's baby,' Roberts said. 'We have a little running practical joke situation going on, but this was a gift for the baby.' In April, Shohei and his wife, Mamiko, welcomed their daughter. The gift is part of a running joke between the two, which stems from when Ohtani broke Roberts' franchise record last May. Shotime promised the team's manager a new car for the history-making feat. However, he pranked him by gifting him a toy Porsche instead. Keep in mind, Ohtani does give out real cars. Back in 2023, he gifted Joe Kelly's wife, Ashley, a real Porsche for her role in lobbying for him to come to the team. She started the '#Ohtake17' campaign, which referred to Kelly's jersey number he wore during his time in L.A. Ashley said that Ohtani could have the number if he signed with the Dodgers. Baseball Fans in Disbelief After Unfortunate Paul Skenes News

Baseball Fans in Disbelief After Unfortunate Paul Skenes News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It's supposed to be a good thing when Paul Skenes and Boston Red Sox legend Pedro Martínez are in the same sentence. Advertisement Unfortunately for Skenes, he plays for a last-place Pittsburgh Pirates team that offers him no run support. Skenes limited the Houston Astros to three hits and one walk on Tuesday night. Although the reigning NL Rookie of the Year struck out eight, he, unfortunately, allowed a seventh-inning home run to Astros first baseman Christian Walker; that one run gave him a tough-luck loss in Pittsburgh's eventual 3-0 defeat, dropping him to 4-6 despite a brilliant 2.05 ERA. If that line sounds familiar, it's because Skenes posted similar numbers in a 1-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on May 18. Skenes struck out nine, walked none, and allowed just one run that night. Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul SkenesBrad Penner-Imagn Images As X/Twitter user @jayhaykid pointed out, no pitcher had earned losses in starts of at least eight innings with one or no earned runs, one or fewer walks, and at least eight strikeouts since Martínez in 2000. Advertisement 'I tried to type out 50 tweets but my [expletive] head kept hurting,' one user replied. Asked another: 'How do [general manager] Ben Cherington and [owner] Bob Nutting sleep at night?' Such is life for Skenes, who leads National League pitchers with a 3.2 bWAR despite his offense's best efforts. The Pirates are 5-8 in his starts, and they've scored two or fewer runs in four such games. Unsurprisingly, Skenes is 0-4 in those starts with a 1.86 ERA and 27-7 K-BB ratio over 29 innings. 'And the season isn't even halfway over!' a commenter pointed out. 'Imagine the new records Skenes can set with this offense supporting him!' Advertisement One fan tried staying positive. 'On the bright side of things, at least it happened this century,' they pointed out, 'which is better than 'hasn't happened since the early 1900s.''
