A few years ago, Lenka became the first K-pop star from the country when she emerged as a member of the multi-national group. The members of the band were reportedly selected by DR Music Entertainment, a South Korean music label, after a training period that lasted for six months.
In an earlier interview with Zoom, Lenka said she looked forward to be on a 'huge stage" and performing in front of a 'massive crowd" when she was 10 years old.
She said that she gets 'very emotional" whenever people call her 'India ki beti".
Tensions between India and Pakistan intensified after 26 tourists were killed in a ghastly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22.
In a befitting reply to Pakistan, the Indian armed forces earlier this week launched a series of missile strikes across multiple terror camps under Operation Sindoor.

Elon Musk didn't like Silicon Valley, and neither did Mark Zuckerberg, says Kumail Nanjiani: ‘What the f**k was that?'

Pakistani-American actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani has revealed that tech mogul Elon Musk was not a fan of the popular comedy show, Silicon Valley. Kumail Nanjiani recalled a conversation with Elon Musk, where the latter told Kumail, he was not a big fan of Silicon Valley Speaking on Mike Birbiglia's podcast Working It Out, the 47-year-old actor recalled how the Tesla chief had a problem with the very first episode of the HBO comedy. 'He didn't like the show,' Nanjiani said, explaining that Elon was 'upset' about the show's opening scene. The pilot begins with Kid Rock playing at a lavish tech party where the crowd is visibly bored, something Elon took issue with. According to Kumail, the billionaire brushed it off by saying the parties he attended were 'much cooler' than the ones depicted on screen. 'It was like, 'Yeah, man. You're one of the richest people in the world. We're, like, losers on the show. Of course your parties are better than my parties. What are you talking about?'' Kumail recalled. The Eternals actor also recounted another awkward moment involving Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. In 2016, Kumail and his Silicon Valley co-star Martin Starr were invited to present at the Breakthrough Awards, an event co-founded by Mark to celebrate the world's leading scientists. On stage, the pair decided to revive a notorious gag from the show's first season finale, where a character jokingly calculates how long it would take to give sexual favours to an entire conference room. They retooled the crude bit for the awards ceremony, but it backfired immediately. 'He was like, 'What the f**k was that?'' Kumail recalled of Mark's reaction. 'And truly in that moment he was right,' he added. Despite these encounters, Silicon Valley went on to become one of the most acclaimed comedies. Over its six-season run, the show earned critical praise and multiple Emmy nominations for its sharp satire of the tech industry and the culture surrounding it. While it found a devoted fanbase for exposing the absurdities of startup life, Kumail's anecdotes show that some of the world's most powerful tech leaders didn't always appreciate being in on the joke.

Badshah Clarifies Dallas Show Not Backed By Pakistani Company, Promoter Cites Hrithik Roshan Tour

Last Updated: Badshah clarifies that his Dallas Unfinished Tour concert is managed by a US promoter and is not backed by Pakistani sponsorship. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had issued a letter to Badshah seeking clarification about his upcoming show, 'Badshah's Un-Finished Tour'. Scheduled to take place in Dallas on September 19, 2025, the show is allegedly sponsored by a company owned and operated by Pakistani nationals. Badshah has now addressed rumours about it, clarifying that the concert on 19 September is completely managed by a US-based promoter, not a Pakistani company. On Monday, Badshah and his team issued a statement to clear the matter. 'The tour is exclusively managed by Manish Sood of Intense Entertainment, who acts as the sole promoter and point of contact, handling all operational aspects, including venue bookings, sponsorships, accommodations, and logistics. Badshah remains steadfast in his mission to use music as a bridge for cultural exchange and unity, ensuring his work remains entirely independent of geopolitical influences," the statement said. The team said that Badshah is 'not privy" to any financial transactions beyond his performance contract. 'In a commitment to transparency, Badshah's legal counsel has provided comprehensive clarification to FWICE on 16th August 2025, reaffirming his professional integrity and allowing him to focus fully on his artistic work," they added. Intense Entertainment also confirmed that 3Sixty Shows, a US-based event management firm led by CEO Chloe Jones, is handling marketing and on-ground logistics. 'Intense Entertainment has taken note of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees' inquiries regarding concerns of alleged backing by a Pakistani-owned company for the Dallas concert. We categorically affirm that the Dallas venue, as part of the larger Badshah Unfinished USA Tour, was secured under our company's name. To ensure seamless execution, we have enlisted the support of 3Sixty Shows—a U.S.-based event management firm owned and led by President and CEO Chloe Jones—to assist with marketing and on-ground logistics. 3Sixty Shows brings extensive experience in producing high-profile Indian entertainment events in the United States, including the recent Hrithik Roshan tour, and is currently managing upcoming concerts such as Aghori Muzik, Purva Mantri and Abhijeet Bhattacharya. All venue bookings, hotel reservations, flight arrangements and ancillary logistics for the tour have been coordinated directly through Intense Entertainment, in strict compliance with local regulations and industry best practices. We remain fully committed to transparency and cooperation with FWICE to address any concerns and ensure the integrity of our events," the promoters said. After the Pahalgam attack in April 2025, Indian artists were told not to work with Pakistani artists. Two weeks later, India carried out a counter-terror strike against Pakistan's terror infrastructure. During this tense period, the Indian government asked OTT platforms and streaming services to stop showing content from Pakistan, including movies, web series, songs, and podcasts. Pakistani actors' social media accounts were also blocked in India. In its letter, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had earlier said, 'As you are aware, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), in alignment with the directives issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, has clearly instructed all artists, performers, and technicians in the Indian entertainment industry to refrain from engaging in any professional collaborations or performances with Pakistani nationals or organizations connected to Pakistan. These measures are in place considering the continuing acts of terrorism and hostile activities directed against India from across the border." Seeking clarification from Badshah, the letter further added, 'In light of this, we request your immediate clarification regarding your association with this event and the said organizers. We trust that as a respected Indian artist, you will uphold the sentiments of the nation and the directives issued by FWICE and the Government of India. Your prompt response will be appreciated so that we may take the necessary steps in accordance with our regulations." First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
