A beloved sports writer has died following a battle with cancer at 62 years old.
Scott Miller, a beloved sports journalist known for his coverage of Major League Baseball, has died. He passed away on Saturday morning, following a battle with cancer.

Longtime MLB reporter Bob Nightengale shared the news on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Heartbroken to share: Baseball lost a giant. Scott Miller was a brilliant writer and an even better human. His gift for storytelling embodied his kind soul and heart. I loved him, and so did all blessed to know him. Please keep Kim, Gretchen, and family in prayer," he announced.

Miller, whose career spanned more than three decades, wrote for outlets such as the The New York Times, Bleacher Report, CBSSports.com, and the Los Angeles Times.
MLB Communications shared a tribute to Miller on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

"Tonight we remember Scott Miller - a true gentleman, a class act, and an expert of his craft who loved our National Pastime. We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones and his readers throughout the game. #MLB," MLB communications announced.
Longtime MLB insider Ken Rosenthal shared a tribute for Miller during FOX's national broadcast on Saturday, too.
Earlier this year, Miller released a new book - "Skipper," which is being a called a must-read by baseball fans.
"Scott Miller's new book on managers, "Skipper," is a must-read. And the final few years of the NYT Sports dept was made so much richer by Scott's stories. Here's his NYT archive. His skills, respect and love for the game come through," Tyler Kepner wrote.

'My entire growing up — I say this to her all the time now — [but] she was so almond mom,' Weslie, 17, said on the Sunday, June 22, episode of their 'Between Us' podcast. 'She was like, 'You have to eat greens [and have] chicken every night.'' While Holker, 37, was unsure about the origins of the slang term 'almond mom,' she does concur that she acted that way when it came to food. 'I definitely was one with Weslie. I was very strict,' Holker said. 'I was cooking all of the time, and her lunches for school were all the organic versions of everything. Like, there were no processed snacks. Everything was, like, different types of nuts [and] I had a lot of dried fruit options.' Tyrese Haliburton's right leg gave out just minutes into Game 7 on Sunday night, and he had to be helped off the floor. () The NBA world was thrilled to get a rare Game 7 in the NBA Finals. But just minutes into that contest between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night, everything shifted. Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton went crashing down to the court during the first quarter, appearing to re-injure his strained right calf during a non-contact moment. He immediately started pounding the floor at the Paycom Center, too, and was extremely emotional as play went the other way. The Pacers quickly ruled him out just a few minutes later with what they called a right "lower leg injury." Further specifics are not known, though Haliburton's father confirmed to ESPN that it is an Achilles injury. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James shared what most of basketball fans were feeling in a very not-safe-for-work way. He was far from alone. Even Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes chimed in. Haliburton first went down with the calf injury during Game 5 of the series, though he returned to the court for the Pacers' Game 6 win on Thursday.
