During yesterday evening's The One Show, Alex and Vernon welcomed guests Nick Frost, 53, and Mason Thames, 17, on to the famous sofa.
They were on the show to chat about the hotly-anticipated live-action adaptation of How To Train Your Dragon.
However, before the interview began, Alex revealed that Hollywood hunk Gerard Butler, 55, had pulled out of the chat, and his co-star Nick had stepped in.
Addressing viewers the Welsh presenter said: "We're thrilled that you're here Nick because as we said last night Gerald... I can't even say his name so lucky he's not here, Gerard Butler was going to be here but he's ill so he couldn't make it but you've stepped in at the last minute so thank you very much."
Nick then playfully apologised, and said: "Sorry everyone!"
This then prompted Alex to declare: "We're thrilled you're here, thank you Nick."
Despite his absence. Gerard's co-stars had nothing but praise for the Scottish star.
Rising teen star Mason, who portrays Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III in the new movie, said: "He is really great and in this industry he is somewhat of a father figure.
"He has a lot of good advice because he has been doing this for such a long time."
He elaborated: "Listening to what he has got to say and the experiences he has been through is really helpful and it's cool to be on this journey with him as well.

Fresh blow for Vogue and Spencer Matthews as they're forced to slash £1.3 MILLION off their posh South London flat

It comes after Vogue hit back at rumours about their marriage PRICE CUT Fresh blow for Vogue and Spencer Matthews as they're forced to slash £1.3 MILLION off their posh South London flat Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) VOGUE Williams and Spencer Matthews have been forced to slash the price of their luxury South London flat by £1.3million. But with it still on the market earlier this year, they dropped the asking price to £4.7million. The swish four-bedroom property, which has a concierge and private gym, is now listed on property website Rightmove for £3,950,000. The price reduction comes despite Vogue, 39, and 36-year-old Spencer's home having extensive features. There are two huge reception rooms, a private roof garden/terrace, a bar and in-house cinema/media room. The primary bedroom comes with an en-suite, with two more luxury bathrooms elsewhere in the property. Vogue and Spencer had first put their home on the market in early 2024 with the view to snapping up a bigger property in Ireland for their three children – Theodore, Gigi and Otto – to grow up in. Hailing from Ireland herself, Vogue has always had a house there and the couple also own a home in Jersey. During their reality TV show, Spencer, Vogue and Baby Too, Vogue didn't hide her desire to raise her family back on the green isle. She also told Mail Online in 2023 how she had put their Irish property up for sale as they had found their dream home in Howth, Dublin. Vogue Williams showcases major home updates Vogue said at the time: 'It's where I grew up, it's the only place I'd want to live in Dublin, it's by the sea, and when you're working all the time in London, it's nice to go back there. 'It's the kind of place that our family can just be in forever. "I suppose you'll always feel like that but it's such a beautiful house, it's just slightly small as our kids are getting bigger, and our family is kind of expanding." Vogue and Spencer's property plight comes after they were forced to deny repeated rumours that their marriage was in trouble. The couple tied the knot seven years ago and Vogue was left furious after the whispers failed to go away. Setting the record straight in March, she fumed: "It's with great sadness that I have to let you know that Spen and I are NOT breaking up! "I usually avoid addressing baseless and cruel rumours but this just keeps coming up." Vogue posted her fiery rant alongside a carousel of images showing herself and Spencer looking seriously loved up. She went on to insist that rumours of a marriage breakdown were "absolutely not true", adding: "More importantly I don't want my children hearing these lies in the playground." Vogue concluded: "We're not sure what the angle is or where it's coming from but the whole thing feels very strange and mean. "We're very happily married and in love and I hope posting the truth on my own platform might make it stop." 8 Vogue and Spencer's four-bed apartment now has a price tag of £3,950,000 Credit: Savills 8 They are currently based in England with their three children Credit: Savills 8 The property is located in an exclusive part of south London Credit: Sotheby's 8 Spencer and Vogue recently hit back at split rumours Credit: Instagram

Nepo baby Nico Parker reveals the lesson her famous parents taught her to get ahead as she follows in their footsteps - but insists it has NOTHING to do with their showbiz connections

Nepo baby Nico Parker has revealed the lesson her famous parents taught her to get ahead as she follows in their footsteps. The actress, 20, is the daughter of BAFTA-winning film star Thandie Newton and director Ol Parker, known for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. She is fresh off the back of starring in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, as Chloe, the nanny to Bridget's children. Nico also plays one of the leads, Astrid, in the live action remake of the 2010 fantasy adventure film How To Train Your Dragon, set for release on June 9. And when appearing on Lorraine today to promote the new movie, she told presenter Ranvir Singh the advice her parents gave her as she flies the nest. When appearing on Lorraine today to promote the new movie, she told presenter Ranvir Singh the advice her parents gave her as she flies the nest The actress, 20, is the daughter of BAFTA-winning film star Thandie Newton and director Ol Parker, known for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (all pictured together at the premiere for the 2019 live-action remake for Dumbo, which Nico starred in) The host, 47, asked the young star on the ITV chat show: 'What's really lovely about you - I've seen you in other interviews - is you're just very open about the fact you came from an actor-y background. 'Your mum is Thandie Newton, your dad is a director. So, how has that informed the way you approach acting? 'And did you always think, 'Well, acting is just a no-brainer, of course I'm going to do it?"' Nico replied: 'It wasn't really something, I did ballet for a while when I was younger and that to me was a kind of, full guns blazing, what I wanted to do when I was younger. 'So, acting didn't necessarily come about in a way of like, "This is my birthright", in any sense. 'But my parents, the really lovely thing about both of them is their advice is predominantly about how to be a good person rather than how to behave on a film set. 'And I think that what's lovely is about is that the two kind of bleed into one another because I think it's much more important to be a nice and normal person and be kind to others, rather than know what angle best suits you. 'So, the advice that I get from them feels very much more so about life and things like that. 'The wonderful thing about that is that you can then take it on to work and wherever you go.' Ranvir then went on to ask how she was coping with fame, to which Nico responded, laughing: 'I don't feel famous at all! 'I feel very normal and all my friends are at uni and I go to visit them. Life feels surprisingly normal despite it being quite a mad time.' Elsewhere in the interview, the star also confessed she hates to watch herself on-screen - literally turning away as the trailer for How To Train Your Dragon was shown on Lorraine. Spotting this, Ranvir laughed: 'What's so funny is that you won't even watch yourself in the film!' Nico, also known for her turns in the 2019 live action adaptation of Dumbo and post-apocalyptic drama series The Last Of Us, replied: 'As that was playing, I just was about to faint, I couldn't! 'Me and Mason [Thames, who plays lead character Hiccup] watched the movie recently in Brazil and that was my first full time seeing it, with an audience in a big cinema and I just couldn't, I was cowering away the whole time.'. Asked why that is by the presenter, she explained: 'I don't know what it is... Ranvir was impressed with the young actress's thoughtful answers, saying at the close of the interview: 'Well, I suppose we can credit your parents for doing a great job with you because I mean, it is wonderful to meet you' 'It just all feels very kind of silly in a way and then when you watch it with an audience, I kind of am just constantly thinking, "Oh, everyone hates me and this looks awful!"' Ranvir responded sympathetically, 'Oh, darling!', before Nico continued: 'I'm always very, very in my head.' But with a slightly smaller part in Bridget Jones than in How To Train Your Dragon, she said watching that was different. Nico explained: 'I was just a tiny piece of a very big puzzle so I was able to actually watch it quite comfortably but you know, this was very different, very invasive in a way.' Ranvir was impressed with the young actress's thoughtful answers, saying at the close of the interview: 'Well, I suppose we can credit your parents for doing a great job with you because I mean, it is wonderful to meet you. 'And in a way, [you're] sort of the opposite of what you expect in many ways because you're just so normal and so down-to-earth which is absolutely lovely to see.' It comes after another guest on Lorraine this week caused a stir, with viewers seriously distracted by EastEnders star Shona McGarty's appearance. Wednesday's episode of the ITV chat show saw the actress, 33 - best known as Whitney Dean on the BBC soap - discuss her latest gig with presenter Ranvir Singh. After playing the character for 16 years, before her departure from Walford in 2024, she is now set to star in Bettie Page Queen of Pin-Ups: The Musical. The new show will see Shona play the iconic American pin-up girl for one night only at London's Lyric Theatre on June 9. But Lorraine viewers were more focussed on Shona's appearance - taking to X to say that with her fringe and bobbed hair, she looked uncannily like Lorraine Kelly. One fan said, comparing Shona to the Scottish host, 65, of the self-titled chat show: 'Lorraine is looking a bit younger from her days off.' Another user responded: 'Great minds.' They also made their own separate post on the social media platform: 'Shona's morphed into Lorraine.' Someone else said they agreed wholeheartedly: 'I couldn't think who she reminded me of but yes that's it!'

ITV This Morning's Ashley James 'snubbed' from co-star Nick Ferrari's wedding

Former Made In Chelsea star Ashley James has been 'snubbed' from her This Morning co-star Nick Ferrari's wedding, just days after she paid tribute to him on social media This Morning's Ashley James has revealed she's not received an invite to her co-star's wedding, despite recently celebrating their on-screen partnership on Instagram. The 38-year-old former Made In Chelsea personality often finds herself at odds with Nick Ferrari during their heated debates on culture wars on the ITV show. ‌ However, Ashley had just days earlier expressed her affection for Nick on social media, stating: "Nick is fast becoming my work husband and we whilst we disagree on almost everything do with politics we also have a great working relationship." ‌ Yet, she disclosed on Friday's episode of This Morning that she was left off the guest list for Nick's nuptials. While discussing the day's headlines with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, the topic shifted to wedding attire etiquette. Alison inquired about what Ashley might wear to a wedding, which led to the revelation from the Celebrity Big Brother star: "Well, I'm not going to Nick's wedding because he's not invited me." Nick took the moment in stride with a laugh, commenting: "That was a bit of a tense moment." Ashley continued, "Theoretically, if Nick had invited me to his wedding, I wouldn't wear white." ‌ LBC's Nick had joyously announced his engagement to his long-term partner Clare in January, following a romantic proposal in France over the Christmas period. He broke the news on This Morning, where Cat Deeley playfully noted he was "officially off the market". ‌ Nick jovially responded to the announcement saying, "Well I know a nation's heart is broken but I have to impart the news that I am engaged to be wed to Clare." He continued: "I am engaged to Clare. We had a fantastic Christmas, having visited Lapland and had a great time. "Then we were down in the South of France and after ten years together I said she can make an honest man out of me. I did it at our favourite restaurant in the South of France." ‌ Earlier this week, mum-of-two Ashley shared a montage of clips from her time with Nick on This Morning, looking back on the fun they've had. She wrote: "Not everyday serious A little glimpse into my working relationship with Nick on This Morning because between the serious stuff, we do have a lot of fun." ‌ After referring to him as her "work husband" and highlighting their "great working relationship", Ashley added: "One thing I will say about Nick is that he has ALWAYS been so kind and welcoming to me. He gives me the platform to talk and respects my opinions. "This of course should be the standard, but as so many women know it's not the reality." The star then addressed people calling her a "bimbo" online and the discussions around the word "feminist" being "weaponized", concluding her post: "Thought it would be fun to show a little of the fun we have because it really is the most fun and I still feel so lucky I get to come onto This Morning every week and talk about so many important topics."
