Peppa Pig's parents speak out on 'miracle' birth and if they want more piglets
The parents of Peppa Pig have opened up about the birth of her newborn sister Evie. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have revealed how the family are adjusting to having a new addition in an interview after introducing the world to her.
It was announced on Good Morning Britain yesterday that Mummy Pig gave birth to her third child in the early hours. The news comes just months after it was revealed that she was pregnant back in February, with fans of the animated show having been following the pregnancy since then.
Fans will be able to celebrate the beginning of this "exciting new era" of Peppa Pig later this month when the cinema special Peppa Meets the Baby launches on May 30. Centred on Evie's arrival, it will feature 10 new episodes.
Ahead of the event, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig spoke to HELLO! about expanding their family. They described welcoming Evie - who is named after a relative - as a "miracle" in the interview, which was published earlier today.
Daddy Pig, who oinked his way through the chat, said that the family are "settled and happy" at home after leaving St Mary's Hospital in London. Mummy Pig is the latest star to star to give birth at the hospital's Lindo Wing - following in the footsteps of people like Kate Middleton.
The character said they were "all ready and prepared", teasing that Daddy Pig was on edge as he kept repacking Mummy Pig's overnight bag and checking routes to the hospital. She said of the birth: "We were very lucky - everything went smoothly and in eight, um, 'short' hours of labour Evie was here."
Mummy Pig said it was a "process" choosing a name for the piglet. She said the family had a few names "in mind" but felt they would find "the right one" after seeing her for the first time. She said that Peppa had "a lots of suggestions". She added: "But in the end, we found a picture of my great aunt Evie and it just seemed to fit."
Daddy Pig said that the moment the piglet met siblings Peppa, four, and George, two, she was "giggling away". He added that she's "fascinated" by them. Mummy Pig said that they "love her to pieces" and are both "protective" of their newborn piglet.
She added that they are "so eager" to help Evie learn and play. Daddy Pig said that they have had "the odd wobble," but went on to share that the parents have then talked with them and helped them "feel heard and loved".
Giving an insight into what Evie is like, Mummy Pig said that she does the "most adorable piggy wiggle" whenever music is playing. Hinting at what may be to come for the character, she added that the newborn "must be a musician at heart".
Mummy Pig said that she feels "very looked after" and went on to suggest that the couple didn't have a "specific plan" for expanding their family. She said in the interview with HELLO! that they just got to a place "where timing felt right".
Asked if they want more kids, Daddy Pig appeared panicked. Mummy Pig however shared: "I think we're more than happy with our family of five! We're excited to settle into our new adventure and see where that takes us."

Rebecca Loos bluntly shoots down Richard Madeley on Good Morning Britain as they clash over David Beckham - swiping 'we don't need to talk about this'
Rebecca Loos bluntly shot down Richard Madeley during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday as they clashed over David Beckham. The former glamour model, 48, appeared on the ITV breakfast show's sofa to talk about her appearance on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Speaking to Richard, 69, and Kate Garraway, Rebecca expressed her disappointment at David, 50, being brought up so much on the Channel 4 show. She said: 'It was a little bit disappointing that there was so much focus on [David Beckham] in the interrogation room, because I really did think that going in there was an opportunity for them to get to know me.' Rebecca added: 'That was a very small part of my life. It is what it is.' However, the interview turned tense as Richard insisted on pressing her on the subject. The daytime legend probed: 'Do you blame him? He was a married man with children, do you blame him? This is the last question about David Beckham.' As Rebecca desperately attempted to move on, she quipped: 'I think we should just focus on SAS.' Richard replied: 'But that's the last question. Do you blame him?' Standing firm, Rebecca doubled down on her reply, saying: 'I want to talk about SAS, sorry Richard... We don't need to talk about this this morning, we're here for SAS.' Rebecca's appearance on GMB comes after she was reduced to tears after she was punched in the face by a co-star on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins on Sunday night. After four departures in the first week, the latest episode aired on Sunday as the remaining celebrities were tasked with engaging in a one-on-one fight. Rebecca was paired with former X Factor star Lucy Spraggan who had control and dominated the fight from the beginning. Before the challenge got underway, Special Forces and former Royal Marine Commando Jason Fox told the group: 'Violence in its rawest form is hand-to-hand, you are eye-to-eye with your opponent and it is about overpowering them. 'We use controlled aggression, it is not blind anger. Anger is an emotion that we have not got any time for.' With the 34-year-old throwing punches, it left Rebecca spending the majority of the fight defending herself from the blows, including to the face. As she struggled on, fans could hear shouts for her 'throw a punch'. After being told to 'stop', Rebecca was visibly in tears as she removed her head gear, while wiping her nose. With Lucy declared the winner, a cutaway shot showed Rebecca also wiping her tears away with her sleeve and trying to catch her breath, saying: 'F***ing hell.' Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 from 6am and is available to stream on ITVX.

Rebecca Loos defended over 'nasty' grilling about David Beckham affair
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Rebecca Loos has been defended after shutting down questions about Sir David Beckham on live television. The 48-year-old star appeared on Monday's episode of Good Morning Britain to chat about the ongoing series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, but the interview took a different direction. In 2004, Loos alleged she had an affair with footballing hero Beckham shortly after he'd moved his family to Spain after signing with Real Madrid while she was working as his Personal Assistant. At the time, the former England captain denied the claims and described them as 'ludicrous'. Loos was grilled about her allegations of the affair as part of Celebrity SAS, and GMB presenter Richard Madeley suggested it could be a 'final learning curve' for her, proving 'it's not going to go away'. She said she 'spoke out back in the day' because 'it was always about the truth', while adding that they didn't 'need to talk about' the claims during a chat meant to be about the Channel 4 reality show. Despite Beckham's denial, she alleged that he 'didn't say it didn't happen', while Richard tried to continue the tense conversation. 'Do you blame him? This is the last question on David Beckham, I promise,' he asked, while she smiled and replied: 'I think we should focus on SAS.' But Madeley pushed: 'That's the last question, do you blame him for taking that line?', and she asserted: 'I want to talk about SAS, I'm sorry Richard.' His co-host Kate Garraway argued that Loos 'got opportunities like SAS because of that connection'. 'So in a way, it's your choice to come back into the public light in that way,' she said, while Loos conceded: 'Yeah, absolutely. And I totally understand people asking, I understand you asking, many people find this interesting, it's ok to talk a little bit about it.' However, she argued that on SAS, there was 'so much more about [her] that could be discussed', including her treatment from the press, and motherhood. Meanwhile, some viewers argued that Richard was being 'so nasty' by pushing the line of questioning. 'Richard being his usual unlikeable self. Why be so nasty to Rebecca Loos. #GMB,' argued @andypaps76 on X, while @e_thronburrow said: '#GMB richard Madley you joke. She is on there to talk about a show. Not the past.' And @StephMarbella said: 'Yes she's only famous because of DB but is there to talk about SAS ok, but RM sees it his chance to batter on about what DB said as if he's going to wring some otherwise unheard revelations out of her. 'Richard sorry to tell you we are all OVER IT WE HAVE ALL MOVED ON! #GMB' More Trending However, another viewer, @vanessahodgesx, insisted Loos should have known what to expect. 'Rebecca is delusional if she thought she was invited on #CelebritySAS to talk about her family and motherhood,' she wrote. 'Well Rebecca, it is the only reason you were able to claim 'celebrity' status and why you are on telly tbh #gmb' Metro has contacted David Beckham's reps for comment.
