The parents of Peppa Pig have opened up about the birth of her newborn sister Evie. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have revealed how the family are adjusting to having a new addition in an interview after introducing the world to her.
It was announced on Good Morning Britain yesterday that Mummy Pig gave birth to her third child in the early hours. The news comes just months after it was revealed that she was pregnant back in February, with fans of the animated show having been following the pregnancy since then.
Fans will be able to celebrate the beginning of this "exciting new era" of Peppa Pig later this month when the cinema special Peppa Meets the Baby launches on May 30. Centred on Evie's arrival, it will feature 10 new episodes.
Ahead of the event, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig spoke to HELLO! about expanding their family. They described welcoming Evie - who is named after a relative - as a "miracle" in the interview, which was published earlier today.
Daddy Pig, who oinked his way through the chat, said that the family are "settled and happy" at home after leaving St Mary's Hospital in London. Mummy Pig is the latest star to star to give birth at the hospital's Lindo Wing - following in the footsteps of people like Kate Middleton.
The character said they were "all ready and prepared", teasing that Daddy Pig was on edge as he kept repacking Mummy Pig's overnight bag and checking routes to the hospital. She said of the birth: "We were very lucky - everything went smoothly and in eight, um, 'short' hours of labour Evie was here."
Mummy Pig said it was a "process" choosing a name for the piglet. She said the family had a few names "in mind" but felt they would find "the right one" after seeing her for the first time. She said that Peppa had "a lots of suggestions". She added: "But in the end, we found a picture of my great aunt Evie and it just seemed to fit."
Daddy Pig said that the moment the piglet met siblings Peppa, four, and George, two, she was "giggling away". He added that she's "fascinated" by them. Mummy Pig said that they "love her to pieces" and are both "protective" of their newborn piglet.
She added that they are "so eager" to help Evie learn and play. Daddy Pig said that they have had "the odd wobble," but went on to share that the parents have then talked with them and helped them "feel heard and loved".
Giving an insight into what Evie is like, Mummy Pig said that she does the "most adorable piggy wiggle" whenever music is playing. Hinting at what may be to come for the character, she added that the newborn "must be a musician at heart".
Mummy Pig said that she feels "very looked after" and went on to suggest that the couple didn't have a "specific plan" for expanding their family. She said in the interview with HELLO! that they just got to a place "where timing felt right".
Asked if they want more kids, Daddy Pig appeared panicked. Mummy Pig however shared: "I think we're more than happy with our family of five! We're excited to settle into our new adventure and see where that takes us."

A source who was at one of the band's rehearsals told The Sun: 'Oasis have never sounded better. They were playing Cigarettes & Alcohol and Liam's vocals sounded really good. '[Liam's impressive vocals] were probably down to the two packets of Lockets cough sweets that he was sucking throughout the rehearsal.' The source added: 'You could hear Noel's lead guitar really well and he sounded so good too. To hear them playing live, and playing so loudly, was an incredible moment.' News about the setlist has come just days after it was claimed that Liam and Noel hadn't yet rehearsed together – reports that now appear to be untrue. Insiders claimed that the brothers were taking the same rumoured approach as Rolling Stones legends Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, who would often rehearse apart from each other. On top of the promising reports about Cigarettes & Alcohol, Liam confirmed that one Oasis song definitely being included in the setlist is What's the Story? album opener Hello. Rumours suggested that Hello would be cut because it featured lyrics written by former glam rock popstar and convicted sex offender Gary Glitter (real name Paul Gadd). Loose Women star Kaye Adams has opened up about the impact of the ITV daytime cuts, saying she may have to move into a one-bedroom flat after "losing her job" Kaye Adams from Loose Women has hinted at the possibility of downsizing to a one-bedroom flat after joking about "losing her job" on the hit ITV programme. Last month, ITV revealed major shake-ups in their daytime TV line-up, resulting in the loss of over 220 jobs and cutbacks to popular shows such as Loose Women and Lorraine. The broadcasting schedule now sees Loose Women airing for only 30 weeks per year, with Lorraine Kelly's programme also reduced to a half-hour format. In a significant shift, Good Morning Britain will be produced by ITV News at ITN instead of ITV Studios, extending its broadcast from 6am to 9.30am every day. Despite the changes, ITV Studios will continue producing This Morning, Lorraine, and Loose Women, which are set to air from a new central London location, reports Glasgow Live. On her How to be 60 podcast alongside Karen MacKenzie, the 62 year old presenter discussed the potential need for drastic lifestyle adjustments following the network's announcement. Adams shared: "I agreed ages to do this programme called Yorkshire Auction House, the whole thing is they get people like me who are ready to get rid of big bits of furniture, downsize and they take them to an auction house and they sell them off and they film it." Kaye Adams revealed she hasn't told her partner Ian that a film crew will be arriving at their home to collect various items she's given away, saying: "They're coming tomorrow with the truck apparently and I haven't told Ian. For the last week, I keep trying to start the conversation with him 'by the way, there's a film crew coming and I've told them that they can have that sideboard, that chair and that desk. "I was deliberating about the baby grand piano, but if I move into a smaller place I don't know where I'm going to put it. And now I've lost my job, I might be in a one-bedroom flat somewhere." The presenter previously told the podcast that the cuts "came out of the blue "and that she had suffered a few "sleepless nights". She said: "I didn't anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life." The situation led to a few restless nights, with Kaye explaining: "I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it's just like the rug's been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar." Despite the challenges, Kaye tried to find a positive perspective: "It's going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It's a huge change. But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good." She continued to focus on looking forward, rather than dwelling on the past: "The past is a trap, don't fear the future – I'm telling myself all these things. And maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I'll just have to go with it." Meanwhile, Kaye's Loose Women colleague Nadia Sawalha also voiced her disapproval of the cuts, describing them as "absolutely brutal" to production staff and completely "out of the blue". Speaking on her YouTube channel, Nadia praised the success of Loose Women and the Lorraine show, hitting out at what she described as "misogynistic" talk concerning recent cuts. The star said: "What people don't realise at Loose Women is that we're self-employed, I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. "I could be let go tomorrow, I could be let go in five years, you don't know because we're not employees. "What's been brutal, absolutely brutal, over the last week, honestly I feel tearful about it, is that hundreds of people... are going to be made redundant out of the blue, these are all the people behind the scenes that support us in every way."

I'm A Celebrity star says 'I don't think I'd want to be here' as they open up on health
Darren Day has spoken out about his mental health and addiction battle, as he revealed that he was misdiagnosed with a number of different conditions before being told he had ADHD. Darren Day has opened up about the significant difference his ADHD diagnosis and subsequent treatment have made to his life, after years of battling with misdiagnoses. The West End actor, 56, who has candidly discussed his addiction and mental health challenges, shared his experience of being diagnosed on Good Morning Britain last Friday. Discussing the matter with Rob Rinder and Kate Garraway, he said: "I talk openly about it because when I do talk about it on social media, I get so many people asking me and I can point them in the right direction now." Day explained how he had been labelled with various conditions: "I was diagnosed with a lot of different qualifications, I call them." During the interview, he disclosed past diagnoses of borderline personality disorder, bipolar type 2, high scores for Asperger's syndrome and indications of autism. Admitting the difficulty with his condition, he remarked: "All of them, my head is wonky." Kate weighed in on his comment, noting: "You say wonky, but that is what neurodiversity is." When Kate queried whether his many conditions were perhaps inaccurately diagnosed, Darren acknowledged: "Perhaps, some people think that." He went on to reveal how desperate things had become: "In November last year I was taking about 17 pills a day, and I'm going to be level with you, I thought that if it wasn't for me being a dad and having a great partner and great family, and the devastation it would cause my loved ones, I don't think I'd want to be here anymore." He shared the extent of his frustration: "It got that bad, I was thinking, 'I'm taking 17 pills a day so I shouldn't be feeling like this'." Following advice to check for ADHD, Darren found that he scored a staggering 96 out of 100. In February, Darren started on ADHD medication and claims it revolutionised his life in just five days. "It changed my life, my head was quiet for the first time in 20 years, I'm focused," he revealed. The I'm A Celebrity star also noted that it had a significant effect on his stage presence and couldn't overstate the transformation the medication brought about. "I've probably had it forever, but then things happen in our lives, traumas and stuff, that make the symptoms worse, but I promise you, I know there's people that are sceptical about it, I probably was if I'm completely honest," he continued, emphasising the positive impact of his diagnosis and treatment. "I want to try and give people what I've got - a peace and quietness in my head that I've not experienced in so long, maybe ever." Darren also opened up about his battle with addiction and a 2018 relapse that led to Robbie Williams "saving" his life. "I was in a really bad place," he recounted, recalling a moment when he broke down while driving. After reaching out to the Take That star, who assured him, "Leave it all to me," Darren emotionally acknowledged: "Here I am today. I wouldn't be here without Rob." Reflecting on his journey in a recent chat with The Express, Darren spoke about how his ADHD meds have supported his sobriety. He commented: "I'm very strong in my sobriety now, and there's quiet in my head, there's less chaos. It makes sobriety easier. I don't feel the need to self-medicate. "Everything has changed. In last three months I've been in the best place I've been in for 25 years. I thank God every day I get up. I love going to work, I love being with my kids, I love speaking spending time with my partner Sophie – we live in Brentwood, Essex, now. "I feel like a weight has lifted, I'm in a good place and I'm really happy people still want to come and see me. I put everything into what I'm doing."
