Billy Joel's former NYC office has listed for sale

New York Post14 hours ago

A Central Park South apartment once owned by the beloved musician Billy Joel is on the market for a relative song: $1 million.
The one-bedroom prewar unit, at 128 Central Park South, served as Joel's office and studio when he lived in a massive 10,000-square-foot penthouse above it with his then-wife, the supermodel Christie Brinkley, on the building's 16th floor.
At the time, the apartment served as an extension of the penthouse.

'Now, this legendary address on West 59th Street and Central Park South is ready for its next New Yorker to carry on a legacy of style, soul and innovation,' said listing broker Keith Hodges, of Nest Seekers International.
Brinkley recently wrote about her marriage to Joel in her autobiography, 'Uptown Girl.' In the book, she writes about how they were madly in love, acted like teenagers, laughed a lot — and remain friends.
The couple, who share daughter Alexa Ray Joel together, were married for nine years before their 1994 divorce.

Joel sold this apartment in 2014 for $775,000. He had sold the penthouse a year earlier for $11 million in 2013.
This listed unit has hardwood floors, and a windowed, eat-in chef's kitchen.
There's also a main bedroom with an ensuite bath.
The limestone building itself, which dates to 1928, is built in a classic Italianate Renaissance-Palazzo style.
Last month, Joel sold the gatehouse of his Long Island estate for $7 million, The Post reported exclusively.
Joel also re-listed part of the remaining 'MiddleSea' property — the main residence, on 14 acres — for a cool $29.9 million. The news all came as Joel underwent physical therapy for normal pressure hydrocephalus, a brain disorder that impacts hearing, vision and balance.

Horror as Woman Finishes Meal, Then Finds 'Parasite' on Plate

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman who had been dining in a restaurant has shocked viewers on Reddit with what she found after finishing her meal. The woman, who goes by u/serious_move_4423 on the platform, shared an image of the small wormlike creature that had been hiding within her food. The post has been upvoted more than 23,000 times since it was posted on June 22, sparking a flurry of comments of surprised viewers. "Just finished my fish and found this for dessert," the woman said. "Had some halibut and pulled this between the folds of the bite I was about to put in my mouth." Accompanying the brief text was an image of what she had discovered: a finished plate of food with a small, dark animal resembling a worm wriggling around in the middle. Reddit users immediately rushed to share both their shock and poke fun at the incident through lighthearted takes and grotesque anecdotes about the dangers that may be lurking in some seafood dishes. "Join me on my weight loss journey," one viewer said. "The parasite will help in more ways than one," the woman responded. "Don't want to be that guy but fish are full of them," another viewer added. "As long as they're properly cooked and stored no reason to worry … But seriously all fish is full of worms sadly … Cod and halibut are the worst generally … But no they all have it." "What's wrong? You've hardly touched your worm," a different viewer commented jokingly, while another posted: "Had a guest speaker in my parasitology class and the first thing he said was, 'how many of y'all like sushi?' At least half the room raised their hand, 'congrats on all the worms you've eaten.'" "Every time I think about introducing fish back into my diet, I see a post like this," a third viewer said. "Ignorance was truly bliss, but alas I am a sad sushi lover now," one comment read. "As long as the fish was prepared properly, you should be fine," another added. "Physically, anyways … I can't speak for mentally … As much as I do enjoy catfish and salmon, I'd be beside myself if I found a worm after eating the fish." A different viewer summed the commotion under the post up: "I really wish I hadn't read this comment thread." Newsweek reached out to u/serious_move_4423 for more information via Reddit.
