EastEnders' Jean tries to sabotage Harvey's new chapter as she receives shock

Metro10 hours ago

Heartbroken Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) seeks bitter revenge on cheating ex Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) in EastEnders this week, as she tries to sabotage his new limo venture.
Jean's world was turned upside down last month when Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) revealed evidence of Harvey's affair with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) in front of a pub packed full of punters.
While Jean forgave Harvey's betrayal, she was devastated when he ultimately chose Kathy and walked out on their relationship to be with the café owner.
Since then, Harvey and Jean's relative Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) were tricked into going into business together, opening a new wedding limo company.
Their venture put Jean and Kat's relationship on the line, as a wounded Jean publicly disowned Kat, before later reconciling.
But in scenes to air this week, Jean is furious when she reads press coverage of the business and the report refers to Kathy as 'Mrs Monroe'. More Trending
When Harvey later dismisses her feelings on the matter, Jean decides to sabotage the limo business.
Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) later arrives to try and talk her down and promises to be there for Jean as she recovers from the break-up – but will his words be enough to stop Jean from going through with her plan?
However, Alfie later finds himself with another problem to contend with when he takes a call from Jean's daughter Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) – is there more drama on the cards for the Slater-Moon clan?

BBC Antiques Roadshow star Fiona Bruce's revenge on Jeremy Clarkson after on-air swipe

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Fiona Bruce has firmly established herself as a leading figure on BBC, renowned for her pivotal roles on primetime shows like BBC One's Antiques Roadshow and Question Time. During her illustrious career, she has encountered numerous notable individuals, ranging from prime ministers and MPs to stars of television and acclaimed Hollywood actors. Nevertheless, not every celebrity meeting has gone smoothly for her. In 2007, Fiona made an appearance on Top Gear, engaging in a memorable exchange with host Jeremy Clarkson - a moment that left her less than flattered by his remarks about her "nice bum". It was during her initial appearance on the show that she shared a lift with Clarkson, assisting him out of a jam when he found himself stuck in a Peel P50, labelled the smallest production car in the world. (Image: (Image: BBC)) As she walked away post-rescue, Clarkson couldn't help but comment under his breath: "She has got quite a nice bottom. I said that out loud, didn't it?" At the time, Fiona remained oblivious to the remark, but upon her triumphant return the next year alongside Kate Silverton, she seized the opportunity for revenge, reports the Express. While participating in the segment known as the Star in a Reasonably Sized Car, Fiona gave Clarkson a taste of his own medicine. (Image: PA) Not only did she deliver a playful slap to Clarkson's posterior, commenting that it "needs a bit of work", but she managed to even the score with the host, who would ultimately part ways with the BBC programme. Fiona later took revenge on Clarkson by standing in for him on his Sunday Times car review column, and made a cheeky reference to his earlier comment, starting her column with: "[I'm] Perching my bottom, nice or otherwise, on his patch." Her revenge may have had a lasting impact on the public's perception of her, as two years later she won the female Rear of the Year award - which she labelled as "demeaning". When Radio Times asked her about the incident in a subsequent interview, Fiona quickly became defensive, saying "Don't get me involved in that!" when questioned about smacking the former Top Gear host. Jamie Borthwick 'attempting to right wrongs' as he tries to save TV career

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick is currently suspended by the BBC after using a disabled slur when he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing Jamie Borthwick is said to be "attempting to right the wrongs in my life" after being suspended by the BBC. The EastEnders star was giving his marching orders after it emerged he'd used an offensive disabled slur while appearing on Strictly Come Dancing. The 30-year-old actor has since apologised for using the derogatory word to describe locals in Blackpool, where Strictly filmed their special ballroom episode six months ago. It's reported footage was made of Jamie using the word, which was then sent to one of his friends. ‌ Issuing a grovelling apology last week, Jamie said: "I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly. ‌ "I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused. It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning. That is on me completely. Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did. It was wrong." In a last ditch bid to clear up his act, Jamie is reportedly set to meet with BBC bosses in the hope he could get his EastEnders job back. He's starred as Jay Brown in the long-running BBC soap since 2006. But in texts to an ex-partner, The Sun reports the star as saying he's had time to reflect on "decisions that have led me here". And at the moment it's still "not clear" if he will keep his job. A source has claimed Jamie told the ex: "I accept the karma that has come my way due to some bad choices", adding: "Had I the opportunity to turn the clock back I would do so and do everything differently." He went on to say he is "attempting to right the wrongs in my life" and "want to sincerely apologise for the mistakes I made and for hurting you and how I handled the whole situation." ‌ It's not the first Strictly scandal Jamie has been involved with since appearing on the show. Footage reportedly emerged of him brandishing a sex toy sent to him by celebrity co-star Go Compare opera singer Wynne Evans, who has also found himself under fire for his behaviour on Strictly. The inappropriate video was said to have been shared in a messaging group with other Strictly stars, who it is suggested did not expect nor want to be included in an exchange that had a sexual connotation. The clip is thought to have been filmed just two days after Wynne was recorded making a sexualised comment about pro dancer Janette Manrara. Wynne, who was a BBC Radio Wales presenter, has since been dropped by the BBC following an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. Speaking about Jamie's suspension, a BBC spokesperson said: "This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. We have robust processes in place for this."

EastEnders fans reveal soap legend to return with major clue

The BBC soap has been sharing teasers over the weekend, ahead of new executive producer Ben Wadey's debut episode on Monday (June 16). It comes as he recently hinted that something 'big' is about to happen in Walford next week. Ben revealed he hopes it will 'get everyone talking' and 'it's only just the beginning'. EastEnders' Top 5 Villains Earlier today (June 15) on X, the @bbceastenders account shared a clip through the eyes of someone walking past some market stalls in Albert Square, which viewers believe is a nod to an iconic scene with a popular character who is rumoured to be returning after two decades. Eagle-eyed viewers have noticed the teaser focused where Zoe Slater's famous 'you ain't my mother!' scene took place in 2001, after she found out Kat Slater was her mum. Zoe, who is played by Michelle Ryan, is set to return to EastEnders as it reportedly feels like the 'perfect' moment for the actress to make a huge comeback. A source previously told The Sun: 'Bosses have repeatedly reached out to Michelle over the years, but the timing has never been quite right. 'People are still talking about her character, so it's a real coup to bring her back. 'She feels like now is the perfect moment — and there was an exciting script on the table.' EastEnders fans convinced Zoe Slater returns to BBC soap tomorrow Reacting to the teaser clip on X, someone commented: 'I didn't see any signs with her name on it this time, but the whole thing takes place where 'You ain't my Mother!' took place. Plus I felt there was an emphasis on the clothes stall where she used to work…' Someone else shared: 'Ah yes. The same place where you ain't my muvva happened.' A third wrote: 'Oh Zoe is SO back because I remember this scene!!!' While this fan said: ''You ain't my muvva' location… Zoe…?!' Others also agreed EastEnders were hinting at Zoe's arrival as one put: 'Deffo Zoe it's stoped and blinked at the slater stall.' 'Zoe used to work on the stalls,' this viewer chimed in. A user also stated: 'Got to be Zoe I have never seen a market stall selling cat (Kat) things.' Recommended reading: Why isn't EastEnders on BBC iPlayer on Monday? It seems Monday's EastEnders episode really will be a "big" one as it won't be uploaded to BBC iPlayer at 6am. Instead, it will be shown on BBC One from 7.30pm and iPlayer at the same time. EastEnders confirmed the schedule change, as a post on X said: "Schedule Alert! #EastEnders, Monday 16th June, 7:30pm on @BBCOne and @BBCiPlayer. Trust us, you won't want to miss it! (There will be no 6am iPlayer drop).'
