Anna Camp Defends 18-Year Age Gap With Jade Whipkey, Says She's 'Far More Mature' Than Male Exes
Anna Camp is not letting strangers' comments on her love life get to her. The Pitch Perfect star recently spoke up and defended her newfound romance with writer and stylist Jade Whipkey, which also marks her first public relationship with a woman.
When LGBTQ+ outlet Pink News dropped footage of Anna and Jade's red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of Bride Hard, the comments section was flooded with critiques surrounding their age gap. The headline on the social post revealed that Anna is 18 years Jade's senior, which sparked a debate.
'Just cuz they are gay doesnt excuse the weird ahh age gap,' one person wrote, while another said, 'Regardless of celebrity or gender: if a 42 year old is with a 24 year old, it's about power or control, even on a subconscious level.'
Other folks came to Anna and Jade's defense. 'Many don't understand that being a controversially young girlfriend is the lesbian dream,' one person joked, while another referenced Anna's Pitch Perfect co-star, Rebel Wilson: 'Almost every pitch perfect bella coming out as a queer is so important to me.'
Anna then left a comment to defend her and Jade's relationship. 'Thought I'd jump on here since I follow @pinknews and just say I've dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,' the You alum started.
She explained, 'We have more in common than anyone else I've ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything ♥️ Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I'm wishing everyone well:) Especially this Pride month 🌈.'
Another person even pointed out age gap relationships have a different dynamic in queer relationships, saying, 'Age gaps in queer relationships are very common and don't often elicit the same power imbalances as hetero relationships given we live in a patriarchal society that prioritises men being in power and women being objectified.'
They continued, 'Healthy queer relationships don't prescribe to those heteronormative gender dynamics. 👌 these two humans look so bloody happy and I'm ecstatic that more and more women are discovering who they are and finding true happiness ♥️.'
Before soft-launching her romance with Jade earlier this year, Anna married Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013 before she wed her Pitch Perfect co-star, Skylar Astin, from 2016 to 2019. People has also reported that Anna was romantically linked to drummer Michael Johnson from 2020 to 2024.

Massachusetts production of "Little Shop of Horrors" brings innovation to acting, puppeteering
"Little Shop of Horrors" premiered off-Broadway more than 40 years ago, but the musical is just as beloved in 2025. Now the fan-favorite production is bringing an alien plant with a taste for blood to Massachusetts. The voice of Audrey II and the puppeteer who brings the man-eating plant to life form a partnership unlike any other on stage. In the Greater Boston Stage Company's new production, while Anthony Pires, Junior gives voice to Audrey II, it's puppeteer Sydney Grant who creates the movement. She says, "I can't see anybody. And so I just have to track where people's voices are in the space and hope I'm correct." Anthony is backstage at a microphone during the entire show, so for him, "It's a lot about imagination and finding the ability to just figure out how to create your own map." During rehearsal, director Ilana Ransome Toeplitz had Anthony walk through every scene, telling him to "pretend that you are a real person who is anthropomorphized as a plant. And then we moved him to the chair, and then we had Sydney come in and watch Anthony's mannerisms so that they could break together and become one entity. " Anthony explains, "We found a motion throughout the rehearsal process of working together to have me be behind them (Sydney) while they're doing the motions." Three different puppets used Sydney operates three different Audrey II puppets during each performance, starting with the tabletop version. She says, "I'm working with my shadow on the back wall to know where I'm looking or if somebody's approaching. And occasionally, I'm sticking out (from under the table) to look up at our Seymour and see when he's trying to feed me. " Sydney wears a costume for the second plant, while the third is made of foam, fabric and PVC pipe. While she performs on stage, Anthony tells us he looks through a screen setup backstage to make sure "that the plant is mimicking what I'm talking about or highlighting. But also, I do my own physicalities in here just to make sure that I'm portraying and giving that plant that same feeling." Callina Liang Cast as Chun-Li in Legendary's Live-Action STREET FIGHTER Movie — GeekTyrant
Callina Liang is stepping into one of the most iconic roles in fighting game history. According to Deadline, the rising star of Steven Soderbergh's supernatural thriller Presence has been cast as Chun-Li in Legendary's upcoming live-action Street Fighter film. Chun-Li made her debut back in Street Fighter II in 1991, and quickly became a fan-favorite for her speed, combat style, and her story as an Interpol agent on a mission to take down M. Bison's criminal empire. Liang's addition brings a strong dramatic background to the role. She also appeared in the Apple TV+ series Foundation and the thriller Bad Genius from J.C. Lee. She joins a cast that already includes Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, Walton Goggins, and Orville Peck. Bad Trip director Kitao Sakurai is set to helm the project. There are still no details on the story that the film will tell, but as a longtime fan of the fighting game, it's hard not to be curious and excited about how this might turn out. I'm hoping for the best!
