Eyewear brand Oakley has announced Indian cricketer Shubman Gill as its latest brand ambassador and the face of its 'Artifacts from the Future' campaign in India.
'I'm very excited to join Oakley, a brand that stands for performance, progression and passion- values that resonate strongly with mine," said Gill about the collaboration in a press release. "Oakley has been an integral part of my cricketing journey every time I took to the field. The innovative lens and frames technologies in every Oakley help enhance performance, and I love how unapologetically stylish they are!'
Widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in global cricket, Gill has earned a reputation for his consistency, elegant technique and calm demeanour under pressure, according to Oakley. His rise across formats has made him a key figure for Indian cricket and a role model for young fans, which the label aims to harness.
'Oakley is firmly rooted in sports, and is one with the culture and community of athletes pushing the boundaries of performance," said Oakley's senior brand business manager Sahil Jandial. "Shubman, with his relentless pursuit for perfection and progression, is a great embodiment of the Oakley spirit.'
As part of Team Oakley, Gill joins a global line-up of athletes including Kylian Mbappe and Patrick Mahomes II, aligning with the brand's focus on both sport and style. The 'Artifacts from the Future' campaign launches in May.

Myntra promotes India as golden market for global labels

Flipkart's fashion focused e-commerce platform Myntra is confident that India is emerging as a high-potential market for international brands and a growth hub for Indian labels. The business is looking to global markets for growth and has highlighted India's evolving role in the global fashion landscape. 'With the launch of Myntra Global in Singapore, we're also laying the foundation for our global foray, with a long-term aspiration to serve the Indian diaspora beyond India,' said Myntra's chief executive officer Nandita Sinha at Singapore-based global retail conference NRF 25, the Press Trust of India reported. Since its debut in Singapore on May 19, Myntra has observed growing engagement, strong average order values, and early signs of customer loyalty, according to the business. Targeting Singapore's 6.5 lakh-strong Indian diaspora, Sinha noted that even before the launch, the Indian website saw organic traffic from around 30,000 Singapore-based users. 'The new-age insurgent brands are tailoring their value proposition,' said Sinha, highlighting India's increasing strategic significance for fashion. Back home, Sinha said the underpenetrated e-fashion market, currently at under 15%, offers significant room for growth. With a strong focus on Gen Z consumers and rising demand for personalised, seamless experiences, Myntra aims to cement its position as a leading destination for beauty, fashion, and lifestyle, both in India and abroad, India Retailing reported.

Cantabil Retail India Limited has announced the opening of its 600th exclusive brand outlet, marking a key milestone in the brand's expansion journey. The new store is located in Baramulla in Jammu & Kashmir and spans 3,016 square feet, reflecting the business' continued push into Tier 2 and 3 markets across India.
