Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shown new flexibility on Gaza withdrawal plans, raising hopes for a possible captive deal with Hamas, a cabinet source told Ynet on Wednesday.
The source said the move "brings us very close to a deal," with expectations that an agreement could be reached soon.
According to news outlets, a new round of negotiations will begin in Doha as early as tonight, during which 'Israel' is expected to submit updated withdrawal maps to mediators.
Meanwhile, Israeli Occupation Forces Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited the Gaza Strip for an operational review with Southern Command officers. He stated that 'Israeli' forces now control 75 percent of the territory, nearing a key strategic junction.

He told Al-Mamlaka that diplomatic efforts are continuing with the occupation to coordinate the passage of the largest possible number of trucks into the Strip.

'Israel' says Gaza got 120 trucks of aid on day one of pause

'Israel' said Monday that more than 120 truckloads of food aid were distributed by the UN and aid agencies in the Gaza Strip on the first day of a partial pause in fighting. On Sunday, 'Israel' declared a "tactical" pause in military operations in part of Gaza and claimed it will open secure routes for aid, urging humanitarian groups to step up food distribution. "Over 120 trucks were collected and distributed yesterday by the UN and international organisations," COGAT, an 'Israeli' defence ministry agency overseeing civilian affairs in the Palestinian territories, said in a post on X on Monday.

Iran reportedly detains two Jewish American citizens on espionage charges

Two American citizens are among at least 35 Jews reportedly detained in Iran on suspicion of spying for 'Israel' following the 12-day war last month, according to a report by the 'Israeli' Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan). One of the American nationals has been released on bail in recent days, while the other remains imprisoned. Kan identified the released American as a Jewish person of Iranian ancestry from Los Angeles. The other American reportedly left Iran for New York three decades ago. Both individuals were in Iran to visit relatives when they were apprehended. An unidentified source involved in efforts to secure their release commented that "the two Americans arrived in the wrong place at the wrong time." In a related development, Iranian authorities recently released 11 members of the Jewish community who were also accused of spying for 'Israel'.
