Acer launches Intel Core Ultra-powered Swift Neo laptop: Price, details
Acer has Launched its Swift Neo laptop in India, featuring a 14-inch OLED display. Powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra 5 processors, the laptop is said to deliver seamless multitasking, AI-powered productivity, and immersive experiences for gaming and content creation. The company said that the laptop comes with integrated AI capabilities to enhance creativity, productivity, and everyday computing.

The Acer Swift Neo is priced at Rs 61,990 upwards, and comes with up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. The laptop is now available for purchase through the e-commerce platform Flipkart.

The Acer Swift Neo laptop sports a 14-inch OLED display with WUXGA resolution. The display panel is said to cover 92 per cent NTSC and 100 per cent sRGB colour space. The laptop features a 1080p FHD built-in webcam for video calls and more.
Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 5 processors, the laptop features integrated Intel Arc Graphics. It gets support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity, while offering dual USB-C full function ports. It also comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Regarding battery life, Acer claims that the Swift Neo delivers up to 8.5 hours of battery life on a single charge.
As for the main working area of the laptop, it comes with a diamond-cut touchpad, one-hand open hinge, and backlit keyboard with a dedicated Copilot key. Acer also said that the laptop offers an ultra-thin profile which enhances its portability. The company said that the laptop is ultra-lightweight and weighs around 1.2 kg.
For its AI capabilities, Acer said that the laptop leverages Intel AI Boost platform to offer advanced AI-powered features, including AI apps for enhanced video calling and on-device AI processing for increased privacy and efficiency.

New Delhi: Seemingly taking lessons from the recent Israel-Iran conflict, India has quietly shifted gears to strengthen its own military muscle. The Ministry of Defence, under Rajnath Singh's leadership, has approved a fast-track plan to arm the Indian Army with new-generation weapons sourced from domestic firms. The list includes high-tech drones, loitering munitions and advanced counter-drone systems – tools tailored for today's evolving battlefield. These purchases carry weight beyond just numbers. They signal a strategic message that New Delhi is preparing for any threat looming on its western or northern frontiers. The decision is likely to cause unease in both Islamabad and Beijing. The Indian Army has been given full autonomy to make rapid acquisitions. It is already in talks with domestic companies to deliver precision-guided systems, artillery shells and long-range strike equipment. These tools are being treated as essentials for operations ranging from counter-terror missions to high-altitude defence posturing. One of the most notable acquisitions is the Nagastra 1R loitering munition. The Army has placed an order worth Rs 158 crore with Solar Industries to procure 450 units. These munitions are already deployed in select sectors and have proven effective. Capable of eliminating infiltrators and destroying enemy infrastructure along the Line of Control, the new batch is expected to be delivered within a year. Another key addition is the hybrid mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) – a fixed-wing VTOL system that can take off and land vertically. Karnataka government schoolkids to get online learning resources from Khan Academy
Bengaluru: In what could be the biggest digital intervention project for govt school students in the state, the department of school education and literacy has entered into an MoU with US-based not-for-profit Khan Academy to offer online learning resources to children of classes 6-II PU. With this, students will have access to maths, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, and English resources. One hour on Saturdays will be dedicated to using these resources in schools. Students and teachers will be given a login ID, mobile app, and access to KhanMigo artificial intelligence tool free of cost. The account can be used throughout their lives free of cost. "Teachers should guide students to use vast learning resources on the portal, the practice tests and skills, and revision modules for supplemental understanding, clarification of concepts, achieving higher learning levels, self-study for competitive examinations, etc. The teachers will also train students of classes 8-II PU on how to use the KhanMigo artificial intelligence tool, which itself will work as a digital tutor," said an official. "This will enable teachers to upgrade/refresh their skills and subject knowledge, use content for quizzes, tests, use KhanMigo as a teaching assistant, prepare lesson plans for classes, etc. It is a win-win situation for all," the official said. The contents are also expected to help in preparation for competitive exams. The project is expected to help 15.9 lakh students in 26,597 govt schools and about 3.1 lakh students from 1,229 govt PU colleges. The contents are in sync with National Council of Educational Research and Training textbooks, which are used by the state syllabus schools. The department officials said the data on the Student Achievement Tracking System (SATS) regarding the availability of functional computers is wrong and misleading; most schools have the infrastructure. "If not a computer, all schools have digital boards on which the content can be projected from a mobile. This year, Rs 35 crore is allotted in the state budget and separately under Samagra Shikshana each for digital boards/computers," said the official. The govt order states no grant will be released to Khan Academy for the implementation of this programme.
