Acer Swift Neo laptop review: Stylish and reliable

Rating: 3.5/5 Business laptops are evolving to meet the demands of remote professionals, students, and creators who require lightweight portability without compromising on performance. Acer's Swift Neo laptop represents this new generation of devices that blend AI-powered efficiency, portability and style. Priced at Rs 61,999, this made-in-India laptop features a premium finish, a lightweight chassis, and AI-ready hardware. It aims to offer something to both the productivity-focused and casual users. We've been testing the Swift Neo for some time now, and here's how it performed for us. Design and Display At first glance, the Swift Neo impresses with its sleek aluminium build and stylish Rose Gold finish. Weighing just 1.2 kg, this laptop is easy to carry around and feels built for professionals constantly on the move. The diamond-cut touchpad, which houses the Windows Hello fingerprint sensor, gives it a premium look. The hinge allowed us to open the lid with two fingers, and the backlit keyboard added everyday usability; however, we noticed some wobble when the screen was open. The build feels sturdy despite the lightweight profile. After multiple sessions of tossing it into backpacks and working on the go, the laptop showed no visible wear. The palm rest stays cool even after hours of typing, and the backlit keys are comfortable for long writing or editing sessions. Being an AI-ready laptop, there's a dedicated Copilot key as well. The laptop also comes with multiple connectivity ports, including a 3.5 audio port, a USB Type-C port and a card reader on the left and two more USB Type-C ports (that can be used for charging) on the right. Meanwhile, the air vent, a USB Type-A and an HDMI port are placed behind the hinge. Open the lid, and the 14-inch OLED WUXGA display comes to life. With 92% NTSC and 100% sRGB colour coverage, visuals appear vibrant and colourful. We watched a few episodes of Game of Thrones, and the OLED panel delivered deep blacks and punchy highlights. The 60 Hz refresh rate also made scrolling through our picture-heavy group chat feel buttery smooth. Whether used for light creative tasks or casual entertainment, the display maintains clarity, even in well-lit rooms. Touch support isn't included, but for those who prioritise colour accuracy and brightness in a compact form factor, this screen delivers. Performance and AI Features Under the hood, the Swift Neo is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor paired with Intel Arc Graphics. The variant we tested had 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, offering responsive performance across daily workloads. We ran multiple tabs on Chrome, edited documents, and jumped into occasional light gaming sessions like Minecraft and Valorant, and it delivered all without stutters or overheating. While it's not designed for AAA gaming or heavy 3D workloads, the system handled creative tools like Canva and Adobe Lightroom with ease. The standout here is Acer's AI integration. Features powered by Intel AI Boost allowed for smooth background blurring during video calls and real-time voice enhancement. These enhancements run locally on the device, offering better privacy and faster processing. Apps like Microsoft Teams and Zoom showed noticeable improvements in clarity and responsiveness. AI-enabled system optimisation also kicked in during heavier usage, adjusting background tasks and extending battery life where possible. The Copilot key integrates quickly with Windows AI features, speeding up tasks like summarising emails or generating content outlines. Audio, Connectivity & Security The Swift Neo includes a 1080p Full HD webcam, a fingerprint reader on the trackpad for quick logins, and hardware-backed Secured-Core PC protection. These features make it suitable for hybrid workers and students concerned about security. Acer Swift Neo AI Laptop: Features That Make It Future-Ready! The onboard audio is decent for a laptop of this size—clear mids and highs, though low-end punch is limited. It's sufficient for calls and casual content viewing. Plugging in external headphones can improve the listening experience for those seeking better audio immersion. Connectivity-wise, it supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring reliable speeds and pairing. Dual USB-C full-function ports add versatility for accessories and fast data transfer. Battery The Swift Neo's 8.5-hour battery claim mostly held up during typical usage. With the brightness at around 60% and casual browsing, streaming, and document work, the laptop lasted roughly 7 hours on a single charge. During heavier multitasking, the battery dipped closer to 6 hours. There's no mention of fast charging support, but topping it up via USB-C overnight or between work blocks was sufficient for our needs. This battery life makes the Swift Neo ideal for campus use, café workdays, or light travel. Verdict The Acer Swift Neo AI laptop is a thoughtful addition to Acer's lineup, built for users who value a balance between portability, productivity, and AI-enhanced convenience. It doesn't aim to be a powerhouse machine for creators or gamers, but it succeeds as a stylish, lightweight laptop that adapts to your day-to-day needs. At Rs 61,990, it's competitively priced for what it offers: OLED visuals, a sleek chassis, future-ready AI tools, and dependable performance. It's best suited for students, hybrid workers, and content consumers who want a good-looking machine that won't weigh them down. If you're in the market for a lightweight Windows laptop with useful AI features and solid everyday performance, the Swift Neo is worthy of a spot on your shortlist. AI Masterclass for Students.
