Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa says his side are ready for a Cairo showdown as Masandawana take on Al Ahly in the semifinals of the Caf Champions League this evening (kick off 6pm).

After the first leg of the semifinal in Tshwane ended in a goalless draw, Sundowns know they have it all to do at the Cairo International Stadium to progress.
Sundowns to face hostile atmosphere
Ahly are 12-time Champions League winners and victors in six of the last eight editions. They are also expected to have a rare capacity crowd of around 75 000 to cheer them on.
The Egyptian government does not usually allow stadiums to be filled to capacity in Cairo. But Ahly are reported to have requested and received a special exemption for this match.
'Whenever we go to Cairo, it is always all guns blazing from minute one,' Lebusa told Sundowns TV.
'We have to make sure we minimise their attacks, that our rest defence is better and that we are in the right areas to close them down.'
Sundowns were boosted at Loftus by the return from injury of club captain Themba Zwane. Zwane came on for the last 20 minutes, his first appearance since rupturing his Achilles tendon with Bafana Bafana in October.
'It is good to have the captain back. It gives the team an extra boost,' added Lebusa.
'Every player does but 'Mshishi' is one of a kind. We are happy he is back, you heard how the stadium (Loftus) was when he came on.
'But this is also a team sport, we all have common goals and want to achieve them.'
Head coach Miguel Cardoso, meanwhile, has described Sundowns and Ahly as the two best teams on the continent.
'The two best teams in Africa'
'I still believe we can beat Al Ahly because we didn't lose to them in this match,' he told journalists after the draw at Loftus.
'There is still a lot to be played for.

'We are going there expecting a different match. Whoever goes through, the other team will not be happy. But whoever goes through will be strong because these are the two best teams in Africa.'
One bonus for Sundowns is the clean sheet they kept at Loftus. With away goals counting double in the Champions League, if Cardoso's side can manage a score draw after 90 minutes in Cairo, they will progress to the final.

Mbappe 'not bitter' about PSG's Champions League triumph

STUTTGART, Germany - France captain Kylian Mbappe said Saturday he is not bitter Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League the year after his departure for Real Madrid. "I didn't leave too soon; my story with PSG was over. I am not bitter; I had reached the end of the road," Mbappe said in a press conference ahead of Sunday's Nations League third place match against Germany in Stuttgart. PSG crushed Inter Milan 5-0 to win the Champions League in Munich last Saturday, the first time the club has won the competition. "I tried everything, and it was destiny that meant it had to happen without me," said Mbappe. "PSG winning the Champions League without me doesn't affect me. I was happy, I think they deserved it. "They've had so many years where they struggled. I've been there too; I've played in every Champions League stage in Paris except for the victory. "They're the best team in Europe. "I don't remember seeing a team win 5-0 in a major final." Mbappe has repeated his desire to win Europe's biggest club competition, but the closest the Paris-born forward got with his boyhood club was losing the final in 2020 to Bayern Munich. The 26-year-old moved to Madrid in the summer of 2024 hoping to lift the Champions League, but the Spanish giants crashed out in the quarter-finals of the competition to Arsenal in April. Real failed to win a trophy in the 2024-25 season, their first campaign without silverware in four years.

Confirmed: Orlando Pirates to announce new player

Orlando Pirates fans have a new right-back to call their own. Tshepho Mashiloane is coming to Soweto. This will spell new competition for Deano Van Rooyen and Bandile Shandu. As reported in previous weeks, the Sea Robbers signed the 23-year-old Baroka FC star for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League. While the Orlando Pirates have yet to announce the news, Baroka FC's chairman, Khurishi Mphahlele, has confirmed that the deal has been completed. 'We still got to pay Mashiloane until the end of June, but Orlando Pirates have purchased Mashiloane for the coming season, not this season,' Mphahlele told iDiski Times . Another Orlando Pirates player to Kaizer Chiefs? Tshepho Mashiloane in action for Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Image: IOL 'But if Pirates want Mashiloane earlier there's no problem we've got an agreement with Pirates. We can always make provision for that, but we are going to pay Mashiloane at the end of June because his contract ends at the end of June and the Pirates contract begins on the first of July. Sundowns star gives back to boys at his former school 'From the first of July he is an Orlando Pirates player, until then he's still our player and we pay him.'
