Caitlin Clark is the latest Indiana guard to give the infamous 'choke' signal at a Pacers game.
The injured WNBA star was seated with Fever teammates Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston as the Indiana Pacers took a 2-1 NBA Finals lead over the favored Oklahoma City Thunder with a 116-107 win Game 3 win. And as has been the case throughout the Pacers' playoff run, cameras continued looking to Clark for in-game reactions to the action.
For instance, she previously mocked Knicks star Jalen Brunson's chin-stroking 3-point celebration during the Pacers' Eastern Conference Finals upset of New York.
But on Wednesday, Clark went with a local favorite: the choke sign.
In a nod to franchise legend Reggie Miller's infamous 1994 taunt of the Knicks and super fan Spike Lee, not to mention current team star Tyrese Haliburton, Clark busted out the familiar pantomime, although unlike her predecessors, she was smiling.
Miller famously flashed the choke signal to the award-winning director, Lee, amid a Game 5 rally in the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals. The Hall of Fame guard, who was also seated in the front row of Wednesday's game, dropped 25 fourth-quarter points to give the pacers a 3-2 series edge before the Knicks won the next two to advance to the NBA Finals.
Initially thinking he'd hit the game winner, Haliburton broke out the same celebration against the favored Knicks in this year's Eastern Conference Finals after pushing Game 1 to overtime with a buzzer beater. The shot would have ended in regulation had Haliburton's shoe not been on the line, but the Pacers pulled away in overtime so his 'choke' celebration wasn't a complete misfire.
Clark took a similar risk by using the choke sign on Wednesday, as many fans were quick to point out.
'Yea this isn't going to end well if OKC wins,' one fan remarked on X.
'That ain't gonna age well,' another added.

Tarik Skubal twirls another gem as Tigers top Orioles
June 13 - Tarik Skubal pitched seven scoreless innings and the Detroit Tigers did all their scoring in one inning for a 4-1 victory against the host Baltimore Orioles in Thursday night's rubber game. Dillon Dingler and Parker Meadows drilled fourth-inning home runs, with Meadows' three-run shot the big blow. Skubal (7-2), who struck out six, limited the Orioles to three singles and two walks. He entered the game without issuing a walk in his previous 23 2/3 innings. Tommy Kahnle and Will Vest each worked an inning of relief to complete the combined four-hitter. Javier Baez and Zach McKinstry had two hits apiece for the Tigers, who have won four of their last six. Baltimore's Dylan Carlson led off the eighth with a home run off Kahnle, his fourth homer of the year. Carlson finished with three hits. Keegan Akin worked one scoreless inning, despite Jahmai Jones' double on the game's second pitch, in an opener role for Baltimore before Dean Kremer worked the next seven innings. Kremer (5-7) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. The first run came on Dingler's home run with one out in the fourth, his seventh long ball this year. Three batters later, Meadows went deep on a Kremer delivery to expand the margin to 4-0. It was the first home run of the season for Meadows in his 10th game of the season. Baltimore was coming off a 10-run outburst in Wednesday night's victory, but the bats were mostly quiet. There weren't an abundance of scoring opportunities with each team stranding five runners. 'I saw him Monday night. We were at a Rolex function. He was like, 'I was worried; your head was down'. I wasn't happy with it, but it was something I think you need to hear or I needed to hear at the right time. It's not the first time he's done it. He's not afraid to. 'I don't like having "yes" people around me. I just want somebody to tell me the truth, tell me what's going on, what they see. 'If I start swaying from being Brooks Koepka, then I want someone to call me out on it, and he did a helluva job on it.' Koepka added: 'I would say from the first weekend in April until about last week, you didn't want to be around me. It drove me nuts. It ate at me. 'I haven't been happy. It's been very irritating.
