Hamdan bin Mohammed meets with first batch of companies granted Dubai AI Seal at Dubai AI Week

DUBAI (ALETIHAD) His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, met with representatives of the first group of companies granted the Dubai AI Seal, during his visit to Dubai AI Week 2025.The Dubai AI Seal, launched in January 2025 by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and in line with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI, is a pioneering initiative designed to promote trust in reputable artificial intelligence companies and reinforce Dubai's position as a global AI leader.H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said, "A few months ago, we launched the Dubai AI Seal initiative to create a comprehensive framework that fosters partnerships between government entities and specialised technology companies working on AI applications in Dubai, the UAE, and beyond. Today, we celebrate the first group of tech companies to receive the Dubai AI Seal and we look forward to expanding these partnerships in the future."He added, 'In Dubai, we believe in proactively preparing for the future and in the transformative power of technology to enhance people's quality of life and improve government performance. We aim to continually accelerate efforts to harness artificial intelligence in pursuit of our strategic goals and ambitions.''The private sector plays — and will continue to play — a vital role in driving Dubai's future progress and innovation,' His Highness said.Awarded to companies that meet a rigorous set of evaluation criteria, the Dubai AI Seal provides a structured framework to build strong and secure partnerships between government entities and trusted technology providers.Certified companies receive a unique serial number and classification, enabling government and private sector organisations to identify and engage with AI companies that uphold the highest standards of quality, security, and responsible use.The initiative also mandates that any technology company wishing to participate in government AI projects in Dubai must first obtain the Dubai AI Seal. Certified companies are granted the right to display the seal across their digital platforms and promotional materials, highlighting their credibility and alignment with Dubai's strategic AI vision.All technology companies licensed in Dubai that offer AI-related products or services will be assessed upon their application for the Dubai AI Seal across key criteria: the nature of AI activities and services, the number of specialised AI engineers employed, current and upcoming projects, and partnerships with government and private sector stakeholders.By establishing a trusted network of AI providers, the Dubai AI Seal initiative creates new business opportunities, enables responsible AI adoption, and recognises the sector's growing economic significance and its potential to generate jobs and long-term partnerships.The initiative is overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, with DCAI tasked with supporting government entities in adopting emerging technologies, developing AI-related regulations, attracting global solutions, empowering national talent, and enhancing the quality of life of Dubai's residents.H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed's meeting with the AI companies reaffirms Dubai's commitment to nurturing a future-ready AI ecosystem rooted in trust, innovation, and strategic collaboration.Dubai AI Week is hosting 10,000 participants from over 100 nationalities, featuring more than 180 speakers, over 150 sessions and workshops, and more than 140 activations.
Taking place from 21–25 April 2025, the event brings together global thought leaders from startups, corporates, governments, and academia to shape the future of artificial intelligence.

The disbursement of the second housing package of 2025 comes ahead of Eid Al Adha and reflects the leadership's ongoing commitment to comprehensive development, enhancing the well-being and stability of Emirati families, empowering them to actively contribute to the nation's progress, in line with UAE Year of Community objectives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing community solidarity. This package brings the total housing benefits delivered to citizens in Abu Dhabi in 2025 to Dhs11.38 billion. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said, 'The new housing benefits package reflects the leadership's commitment to empowering citizens through the provision of quality housing that promotes family stability and elevates quality of life. Trump hosts Germany's Merz at White House to discuss Ukraine and tariffs
President Donald Trump hosted Germany's new leader Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the White House on Thursday, to discuss Ukraine and defence spending, as well as tariffs. Mr Merz, whose visit is partially aimed at convincing the US to continue supporting Kyiv, said Mr Trump would be a vital figure in bringing an end to the conflict. 'We both agree on this war and how terrible this war that is going on, and we are both looking for ways to stop it very soon,' Mr Merz said. 'And I told the President before we came in that he is the key person in the world who can really do that now by putting pressure on Russia.' The US President called Mr Merz a 'very good man to deal with'. The visit comes a day after Mr Trump held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he said there would be no 'immediate peace' in the three-year-old war. It was a stark turnaround for the US President, who took office this year on a promise to swiftly end the war in Ukraine. He said that Mr Putin has vowed to retaliate after Kyiv unleashed a surprise drone offensive that hit Russian airfields across the country, taking out many heavy bombers and surveillance planes. Mr Trump is set to attend the Nato summit later this month, a meeting that is expected to be dominated by the war in Ukraine. The meetings will come shortly after Mr Trump is scheduled to attend the Group of Seven leaders' summit in Canada, where allies are also expected to discuss ways to end the conflict. Germany, the biggest economy in the EU, is eager to ease trade tension with the US after Mr Trump announced sweeping tariffs on the bloc on April 2. A 50 per cent levy on European goods is scheduled to take effect on July 9. 'We'll have a big trade deal,' Mr Trump said. 'I guess that will be mostly determined by the European Union, but you're a very big part of that.' During the meeting, Mr Trump also said the two leaders would discuss the roughly 45,000 US troops stationed in Germany. 'We have a lot of them, about 45,000, it's a lot of troops,' Mr Trump said. 'That's good economic development, they're highly paid troops and they spend a lot of money in Germany.'
