Fire and Emergency is investigating how
a large fire broke out
in Lyttelton.
Fire and Emergency were called to the blaze just after 5pm on Friday, finding it had engulfed two houses on Brittan Terrace and was spreading to a third.
A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency said nobody was inside the properties.
Six fire engines, a ladder truck, a water tanker, and a command unit attended the scene. One crew remained overnight, dampening down hotspots.
Fire investigators were at the scene on Saturday morning.
