Other popular destinations included Palma de Mallorca, Rhodes, Tenerife, Antalya and Dalaman.
The new report by easyJet Holidays also found Edinburgh and Belfast were said to be the most popular domestic destinations for Scots holidaying closer to home or visiting family.
However, those planning a sunny getaway have been warned as Scotland's busiest day of the summer for travel is on the horizon.
easyJet research found Friday, September 5, is set to be the busiest day for Scotland's airports.
The budget airline will see nearly 2,000 flights take off with over 300,000 customers expected to fly.
This includes 180 flights carrying a whopping 28,000 customers to and from Scotland alone.
This year, the airline launched eight new summer routes Scotland, including Antalya and Reus from Glasgow, and Enfidha, Dusseldorf, Zurich, Olbia, Marrakech, and Milan Linate from Edinburgh.
Sophie Dekkers, easyJet's Chief Commercial Officer, said: "Every year, millions of customers continue to choose easyJet for the unrivalled choice of destinations we offer across our network, our great value fares and our crew's fantastic service.
'And this year with more seats and more new routes, we're offering more choice for customers than ever before, and we look forward to taking them away for a well-deserved holiday, always aiming to make travel easy.'
The new data comes as Glasgow Airport was named as the best in the UK and another Scots hub was named in the top 10.
The airport was hailed as the first choice for fast and affordable travel.

Travel experts analysed air hubs across the UK, comparing the best and worst for average flights per day, average delays, cancelled flights, and flights delayed by 30 minutes or more.
Staff at the ground transport firm hoppa also took into account the number of airport links, lounges, parking cost per day and scored the airports out of 10.
With a rating of 9.21 out of 10, Glasgow Airport came out on top,
The study found the airport has around 158 arrivals and departures per day, with an average flight delay time of 9.6 minutes.

Brit in Spain claims usual holiday hotspot has turned into 'ghost town' this July

A Spanish resort is usually a hit with Brits thanks to its wallet-friendly accommodation, affordable food and drink, and abundance of activities - but it appears to have abandoned in peak season As the summer season hits its peak, many of us have planned holidays for a much-needed dose of sunshine and a break from the daily grind. One destination that consistently draws in crowds is Benidorm, a favourite amongst families as well as stag and hen parties. The Spanish resort town is a hit with Brits due to its budget-friendly accommodation, reasonably priced food and drink, and a plethora of activities - not forgetting its legendary nightlife. Typically, it sees the most visitors between June and August. ‌ However, one Brit who made the move to Benidorm has been taken aback by how unusually quiet it is this July. Harry Poulton, 24, who relocated to Benidorm following his first lads' holiday at 18, has likened the current state of the Costa Del Sol to "like a ghost town". On TikTok, Harry expressed his surprise: "Benidorm is a ghost July?! I've never seen it this quiet. Where is everyone?!". ‌ In his video, he can be seen standing on the main strip, remarking: "It's the middle of July, look behind me, it's dead. I'm on the Benidorm strip, there's barely any people, this is crazy." ‌ "I cannot believe it, this is the quietest I've ever seen Benidorm," he added. One holidaymaker currently in Benidorm responded in the comments: "Currently in Benners. Our first trip here and I was expecting carnage. It's full of families." ‌ Another echoed this sentiment, saying: "In Benny now, it's packed with families instead of stags and hens,". Another concurred, remarking: "We went July one year [and it] was all Spanish families around the pool." Another chimed in: "No one has any money. Also the price they charge to go in summer are scandalous." ‌ An additional comment highlighted: "It's like this every July, August. Shocking but reality, it's too warm and very expensive." Someone else added: "The price has gone up, we came two years ago it was coming up as one of the cheapest places to visit, now it's definitely not. However, once you have been you know it's worth every penny." Yet another person observed: "I was there between 8th and 15th and it was a lot quieter than it was two summers ago. Price of holidays are going through the roof." Thomas Cook, which transitioned from a former airline to an online travel agency, recommends August as the prime time for a Benidorm holiday. The company advised: "If you love hot and sunny weather, the best time of year to visit Benidorm would be during August, which is the hottest month in the resort. "The average temperature throughout August is a lovely 25C and has been known to reach around the 30C mark. If you enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea, August is the best month for that too, with the average sea temperature also being a comfortable 25C."

Spanish hotspot in chaos as popular beaches risk 'vanishing for good'

One of Spain's most popular cities - which attracted a record-breaking 11.7 million tourists last year - has issued a stark warning after authorities confirm a nearby beach risks disappearing A Spanish city loved by Brits has sparked concern that some of its popular beaches risk disappearing forever. Last year, a staggering 11.7 million tourists flocked to the sunny hotspot of Barcelona, marking a five per cent spike compared to 2023. Drawn in by its Gaudí architecture, trendy cocktail bars, cheap booze and ubiquitous history - the city also boasts a number of nearby beaches. ‌ However, the future of these golden sands - many of which are man-made - is in dire jeopardy, and could soon completely vanish. The warning comes following storms and rising levels, attributed to climate change, that are eroding many of the artificial beaches and 'swallowing' swathes of coastline every year. ‌ ‌ According to AP, man-made beaches erode much faster compared to naturally-formed coastlines. This is evident in Montgat, located around 30 minutes from central Barcelona, which locals say is at serious risk. Ana García rents out a beach shack in Montgat every summer, spending two months of the year there with her daughter. It's a beloved tradition she now fears is numbered, as Montgat's coastline continues to erode. "Clearly, this is worrying," she told the publication. "Because it's increasing more and more, and shows no signs of stopping. Our coexistence with the sea here is in danger." ‌ Authorities have reportedly responded to the devastating situation by replacing lost sand and constructing breakwaters (coastal structures designed to lessen the impact of waves on shorelines and harbours). However, Ramon Torra, manager of Barcelona's Metropolitan Area, says this isn't enough. "What we must do first isn't just replenish the sand, but rather stop the loss of it," he said. "In the case of the 'Maresme' region here, we are talking about structures such as breakwaters because they confine the beach." ‌ Coastal erosion isn't just a looming threat for Spain, and is already having severe effects in the UK. Take the seaside village of Happisburgh in Norfolk, for example, which has witnessed homes collapse and roads disappear due to a continually retreating cliff line. As previously reported, more than 250 metres of coastline in the area has been eroded since the 1990s. If it continues at this rapid rate, Happisburgh will be fully submerged underwater in just 30 years. A five-year project backed by £15 million of government funding aims to help residents impacted by the worsening threat. Coastwise - which started in 2022 and will run to 2027 - is currently working with residents and businesses to 'prepare and plan for the long-term'. She booked a Haven trip during half term which set her back £111, and despite the six-hour drive, it was 'absolutely worth it' when they arrived. Upon arrival, they set off to eat the famous Cornish pasties and explored the gorgeous local town. She shared how her kids had loved exploring a beautiful little church as part of their free sightseeing day. Charlene then took her kids to the beach which was 'completely empty' and felt like they were abroad. The mum added: 'It was just us there on our own most of the time. It was like having a private beach.' She pointed out this was ideal for her family as her kids 'struggle with crowds.' Then it was time to see some very furry local residents - a population of seals. Charlene shared: 'The kids really wanted to see the seals, a local told us how we could see them for free in their natural habitat. 'It was only a 15 minute walk up the cliffs and was such an amazing moment when we got to the top.' Hidden gem Scots caravan park with luxury hot tubs that's just five steps from the beach The mum then took her brood to visit Land's End, and said that although there was a mini amusement park there, they loved all the free activities nearby. The only thing she paid for was the Tate Modern, but loved seeing the local St Ives art. Charlene said she loved her bargain trip, and concluded: 'This trip made me appreciate how beautiful the uk is. Cornwall is definitely a hidden gem. 'The van was £111, food shop was £80 and extra expenses £60 so in total for all of us it was £250 going on holiday doesn't have to cost a fortune.' 5 She said she felt like she was abroad thanks to the gorgeous 'secluded' beaches Credit: TikTok/@mummybudgets 5 She also took her kids to see seals for free Credit: Getty 5 She said seeing the local seal population was 'amazing' for her family Credit: Getty CHARLENE'S MONEY TIP Many people were hugely impressed with her purse-friendly family trip, with her video racking up over 1,000 likes. One said: 'The price you paid is such a steal, I need to do my homework more when booking our caravan holidays.' Charlene advised: 'I find it cheaper to book closer to the date you're going away. "I always check prices they are always changing so just look out.' Another added: 'This sounds like a dream! What a lovely few days away!'
