Patna district sees reduction in pending property mutation and land dispute cases
Patna: Patna district magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh on Monday issued a final deadline of this month to dispose of all pending property mutation cases, older than 75 days, to the circle officers of five divisions.

Most of the 14,108 cases pending for more than 75 days are mainly in the five administrative divisions of Sampatchak, Bihta, Didarganj, Dhanrua and Naubatpur. Sampatchak has 636 pending cases older than 75 days, with 161 disposed of in the last one week; Bihta has 499, with 98 disposed of; Didarganj has 156, with 90 disposed of; Dhanrua has 105, with 15 disposed of; and Naubatpur has 82 pending with 77 disposed of.
Meanwhile the number of pending property mutation cases older than 75 days decreased from 80,592 to 14,108 in one year in Patna district, said DM Singh, who held a review meeting on Monday to assess the progress in land-related issues.
Around 80,592 mutation applications were pending last year on April 1, of which 40,207 expired. This decreased to 14,108 on May 3, out of which 1,709 expired.
He also felicitated the circle officers who performed well in the disposal of mutation cases with recommendation letters. "Good efforts have been made by 21 out of 26 circle officers," the DM said.
Directions were also given to expeditiously dispose of mutation appeals pending for more than 30 days.
In the review, it also came out that out of the total 71,698 applications for correction in digitised land records, 56,633 were disposed of, while out of 44,863 pleas for digitisation of unavailable land records, only 11,445 are pending.
The DM directed the circle officers to dispose of all 8,688 cases pending for more than 120 days immediately in both the categories of digitisation of land records and expedite the progress of boundary dispute cases.

All deputy collectors land reforms (DCLR) were directed to expedite the disposal of cases related to land dispute under the Bihar Land Dispute Resolution Act (BLDRA), mutation appeals and Abhiyan Basera. They were directed to promptly dispose of cases pending for more than 90 days in the BLDRA court.
The DM directed all the DCLRs to monitor revenue works to ensure strict compliance with the govt's directives.
He also directed all circle officers to make land available for various schemes, coordinating with the block-level officials of the departments concerned.

DM reviews preparations for Bakrid
Patna: DM Thiyagarajan SM and SSP Avkash Kumar on Wednesday directed the officials to strengthen and activate intelligence networks and undertake special precautionary measures at sensitive locations on Bakrid, which is likely to be on June 7. The two officials were addressing a meeting to review law and order preparations for the upcoming festival. Directives were issued to all SDOs and SDPOs to organise peace committee meetings. The officials were instructed to ensure strict surveillance on anti-social elements, keep the social media monitoring cell active. The DM said, "In view of administrative preparations and smooth conduct of the prayers, entry for the general public to the Gandhi Maidan will be restricted from June 5 evening, until the conclusion of the festival." Those coming to offer prayers with vehicles will enter through gate no. 5 and 10. Parking facilities will be available inside the ground. Pedestrians will enter through gate nos. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The DM directed timely completion of all necessary arrangements at the Gandhi Maidan. The officials were ordered to keep all CCTV cameras at the Gandhi Maidan ready, besides deputation of doctors, paramedical staff, and ambulances. Suggestions were also taken from Mahmood Alam, president of the Namaz-e-Edain committee, and other committee members. The DM stated that as the nodal officer, additional district magistrate of disaster management will coordinate with Alam. A temporary police station will also be operational at Gandhi Maidan for security purposes.

Three-day voter awareness rally flagged off in Buxar
Buxar: A three-day voter awareness rally was flagged off by DM, Vidyanand Singh, from the collectorate premises here on Tuesday. The rally would be held under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) programme, coinciding with World Bicycle Day and World Environment Day. The aim of the rally is to raise awareness about the importance of voting and inspire citizens to participate in the democratic process without fear, said a district administration official.
