Patna district sees reduction in pending property mutation and land dispute cases

Most of the 14,108 cases pending for more than 75 days are mainly in the five administrative divisions of Sampatchak, Bihta, Didarganj, Dhanrua and Naubatpur. Sampatchak has 636 pending cases older than 75 days, with 161 disposed of in the last one week; Bihta has 499, with 98 disposed of; Didarganj has 156, with 90 disposed of; Dhanrua has 105, with 15 disposed of; and Naubatpur has 82 pending with 77 disposed of.
Meanwhile the number of pending property mutation cases older than 75 days decreased from 80,592 to 14,108 in one year in Patna district, said DM Singh, who held a review meeting on Monday to assess the progress in land-related issues.
Around 80,592 mutation applications were pending last year on April 1, of which 40,207 expired. This decreased to 14,108 on May 3, out of which 1,709 expired.
He also felicitated the circle officers who performed well in the disposal of mutation cases with recommendation letters. "Good efforts have been made by 21 out of 26 circle officers," the DM said.
Directions were also given to expeditiously dispose of mutation appeals pending for more than 30 days.
In the review, it also came out that out of the total 71,698 applications for correction in digitised land records, 56,633 were disposed of, while out of 44,863 pleas for digitisation of unavailable land records, only 11,445 are pending.
The DM directed the circle officers to dispose of all 8,688 cases pending for more than 120 days immediately in both the categories of digitisation of land records and expedite the progress of boundary dispute cases.

All deputy collectors land reforms (DCLR) were directed to expedite the disposal of cases related to land dispute under the Bihar Land Dispute Resolution Act (BLDRA), mutation appeals and Abhiyan Basera. They were directed to promptly dispose of cases pending for more than 90 days in the BLDRA court.
The DM directed all the DCLRs to monitor revenue works to ensure strict compliance with the govt's directives.
He also directed all circle officers to make land available for various schemes, coordinating with the block-level officials of the departments concerned.

13 community kitchens set up at relief camps in Bhagalpur
1 2 3 4 5 6 Bhagalpur: Altogether 13 community kitchens at the 13 relief camps have been started to provide food and drinking water for the flood-ravaged victims at different blocks of Bhagalpur district. Arrangements for the distribution of polythene sheets among the victims, besides taking care of their health, have also been made on the instructions of the Bhagalpur DM Nawal Kishor Choudhary, who visited the relief camps on Saturday. Additional arrangements of fodder for the cattle of the displaced victims in the backdrop of floodwater entering their dwelling places have also been made. The veterinary doctors from the district animal husbandry department have also been deputed to take care of the cattle falling sick near the places of relief camps. Of the total relief camps and community kitchens, five are at strategic locations of Nathnagar block, one in Sabour block, four in Sultanganj block, two in Sahkund block and one in Bhagalpur. Nearly 1,500 families were given food and polythene sheets for protecting their thatched houses from rainwater, besides fodder for their cattle. Choudhary said community kitchens at 13 relief camps have been started for the flood victims and more relief camps and community kitchens would be started, if needed. He checked the quality of the food being prepared at the community kitchens. Special instructions to the district and block officials have been given to ensure provisions of hygienic food, safe drinking water, temporary toilets, health services and other necessities to the flood victims. "Special health camps at relief centres by the doctors from the respective primary health centres (PHCs) and others are being organised," the DM said. District officials who accompanied the DM included ADM (district disaster management cell) Kundan Kumar, ADM Ankita Kumari, SDO Sadar Vikash Kumar, BMC officials and others. Students to connect with city's historical heritage through edu tours
Kanpur: The students of the Parishad schools in the district will soon be taken on educational tours to connect the new generation with the temples and historical places present in Kanpur. District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Friday visited two major historical sites protected by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) in Bhitargaon block. First, he went to ancient Jagannath Temple located at Behta Buzurg village. The DM gathered information about the grandeur of the temple and its historical importance. The monsoon stone placed on the top of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple was also a centre of attraction for him. It is said that the prediction of rain is made based on the drops falling from this stone. The priest of the temple gave information about the history and tradition of the temple. Thereafter, he visited the ancient Gupta period temple situated in Bhitargaon town. Over 2 lakh Indians gave up their citizenship in 2024, says govt data
Over two lakh Indians have surrendered their Indian citizenship in 2024, Minister of State for the external affairs ministry Kirti Vardhan Singh said on Thursday. While as many as 2,06,378 Indians renounced their citizenship last year, 2,16,219 gave it up in 2023. In 2022, the number stood at 2,25,620, in 2021, it was 1,63,370, in 2020, it was 85,256, and in 2019, the number of people to have given up their Indian citizenship was 1,44,017. For renouncing the Indian citizenship, an applicant has to apply online at the portal The concerned authority, the District Collector (in India) or Consular Officer (outside India) in Indian Mission/Post, as the case may be, verifies the original passport and other details. The concerned authority, after verifying all particulars mentioned in the declaration form submitted by the applicant, uploads all requisite documents for all stakeholder agencies/government departments to submit their inputs or remarks within 30 days. The concerned authority then approves the renunciation certificate in the online module after 30 days of acknowledgement after carrying out all necessary verifications of the documents. The process may take about 60 days from the date of uploading of signed hard copy of the declarant by the concerned Indian Mission/Post or concerned DM/DC office. The Indian Mission/Post or DM/DC office then uploads the signed hard copy after verification of the documents. After you have given up your Indian citizenship, you would also have to surrender all the documents which you had acquired on the basis of your Indian citizenship (voter id, Aadhaar card, driving license etc.) to the concerned authorities. If a person denounces their Indian citizenship, every minor child of that person also automatically denounce their citizenship. However, such children may, within one year after attaining full age, can make a declaration that they wish to resume their Indian citizenship. You could renounce your Indian citizenship but then you'd become stateless, which is not desirable.
