To achieve this certification, Four Seasons Hotel Amman met a set of high standard environmental requirements that align with thirteen criteria areas which include staff involvement, environmental management, guest information, water, washing and cleaning, waste, energy, food and beverage, indoor environment, green areas, corporate social responsibility, green activities and administration.

In Jordan, the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) has served as the national operator of the Green Key program since 2009. The program also supports global sustainability by aligning with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Source markets Key source markets saw strong growth, with visitors from India increasing by 25 per cent year-on-year. The UK (a 5 per cent rise), China ( up 9.2 per cent), and Russia (a 7 per cent rise) all recorded their highest-ever arrivals for a half-year period. Exceptional growth was seen from countries with new direct flights, such as Romania (up by 65 per cent), Poland (up by 56 per cent), Uzbekistan (up by 47 per cent), and Belarus (+30 per cent). Ras Al Khaimah International Airport expanded its direct flight routes, and the emirate's hotel sector was strengthened with several high-profile announcements and the opening of the Rove Al Marjan Island.

Ras Al Khaimah sees record visitor numbers in H1 2025
Ras Al Khaimah is marking a record-breaking start to 2025, with more than 654,000 visitor arrivals in the first half of the year — the highest ever for a six-month period. That's a 6 per cent increase compared to the same time last year, and tourism revenues are also up by 9 per cent. The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) says the strong results reflect its ongoing efforts to expand air connectivity, attract major hotel brands, and forge strategic partnerships across key markets. CEO Raki Phillips added that the figures show Ras Al Khaimah is firmly on track to meet its goal of welcoming over 3.5 million visitors annually by 2030, calling the growth a '"testament to the strength of the destination's offering."
