SUNDAY Brunch's first hour was shrouded in mystery as EastEnders star Danny Dyer was nowhere to be seen.
The 47-year-old Marching Powder star was due to join hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer on the Channel 4 show, as well as their other guests, Christian Cooke Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Georgia Tennant, Alex Horne, Louise Redknapp and Patrick Grant.

But Danny was a no show as the cooking programme got under way, leaving Tim and Simon to explain his whereabouts to fans.
Addressing the empty seat, Tim said the actor was busy filming the second series of hit show Rivals.
He said: 'Now Danny Dyer is joining us today, but he's busy right in the middle of filming Rivals.'
Tim then added to viewers: 'He is on his way though and he's offered to stop in at the services to get pick up some bits and bobs. Anyone want anything?'
This led comedian Alex Horne to joke that he'd quite like Danny to pick him up a sausage roll.
And Tim went on: 'Sausage roll alright, we'll text him later.
'He's a very successful man at the moment. He did just get a BAFTA and he'll be celebrating on the show. We'd like to make him feel special.'
The hosts then joked that they'd really pushed the boat out, as they whipped into the fridge and pulled out a tiny bottle of Champagne.
But Danny did end up showing up an hour into the programme, after filming ceased on the Disney favourite for the day.
Danny Dyer reveals he was 'off his nut' on drugs during 'f***ing dark' EastEnders filming and slams 's**t' soap scripts
Elsewhere, Danny recently opened up on how a touching letter from eldest daughter Dani was the catalyst for him to stay in rehab and kick drugs for good.
His touching comments come after The Sun exclusively told how he was "off his nut" after his "dark" EastEnders stint.
The 47-year-old - who played Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter for nine years - said: 'I was off my nut a lot of that job . . . a lot of Valium and diazepam.'
Now he has told how his Love Island alum daughter played a key role in ditching his demons after he admitted he'd "sit up all night smoking crack" at the height of his addiction.
Now he has candidly opened up on his rehab stint in South Africa - and how the reality TV star's words sobered him up.
Speaking to Lauren Laverne on Desert Island Discs he said he was ready to quit the facility around eight years ago.
He told the BBC Radio 4 show: "Then they read a letter out from home, from my daughter Dani, and it made me sit back down in that seat."
Talking of the height of his drug battles he said: "I remember I had this moment where I was sitting in my ensuite trying to work out how to put a pair of jeans on - I was that off my head.
"I looked up, I looked at my wife and I could just see how tired she looked and I could hear kids running around downstairs, and I thought 'I need to sort my life out'."

Casualty declares major incident as first look is revealed

A major incident is declared in tomorrow's episode of Casualty, as an ambulance crashes right into the ED. The instalment will be the final part of the show's latest boxset, which is called Internal Affairs. In the spotlight this mini-series have been characters including Rida Amaan (Sarah Seggari), Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) and new Clinical Lead Flynn Byron (Olly Rix). Rida faced a horrific ordeal at work a few weeks ago, when she was sexually assaulted by her colleague Mr Whitelaw (Robert Bathurst). The nurse attempted to record a confession from Russell, but he worked out what she was doing and pulled her hijab from her, another ordeal that left Rida terrified. This violation was discovered by Flynn, who had walked in on Russell and Rida shortly after it happened. Complex Flynn Byron made quite the entrance at the start of this boxset, as he was involved in an RTC. Gaining the respect of his colleagues was very important to Flynn but he had a battle with Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) in particular, who put Flynn in his bad books after Tariq Hussein (Manpreet Bachu) left. More Trending Last week, the ED staff gathered together to celebrate Faith and Iain Dean's (Michael Stevenson) wedding. After the happiness comes drama though, as they'll be forced to act fast when an ambulance crashes through the entrance of the hospital. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Sir David Jason's rare appearance at British Soap Awards has fans all saying same thing

Fans all said the same thing as Sir David took to the stage to present an award on Saturday night. Sir David Jason 's appearance at the British Soap Awards last night really got tongues wagging. The legendary actor was on hand to present the Best British Soap award this evening. The glittering soap awards took place on Saturday night but were broadcast on Thursday evening and after a slight delay due to a technical hitch, the awards were underway. David was on hand to give the Best Soap award to EastEnders, writes The Mirror. ‌ And as the Only Fools and Horses icon made his way on the stage to present the big award, the soap stars in the audience were in awe of the iconic actor and viewers at home were the same. ‌ One fan on social media penned: "The legendary Sir David Jason walking out to screams of excitement and admiration was incredible, the atmosphere was truly electric. Couldn't have wished for a better person to announce the winner," whilst another added: "Great to see Sir David Jason on the #BritishSoapAwards tonight. What an absolute legend!!" "Huge congratulations to EastEnders and how well does Sir David Jason look !! What a legend #britishsoapawards," a third wrote, whilst another added: "I teared up seeing David Jason." A fifth wrote: "N'awww a standing ovation for Sir David Jason." The 85 year old previously opened up about how he had to give up his beloved helicopter with "extreme reluctance" as he struggled with his physical health. He said: "You need your hips, legs and knees to be in pretty tip-top condition for helicopter flying. "Also your arms and shoulders. It's rather like playing a drum kit in that regard, although the consequences of getting out of time during the second verse are quite a bit graver." He added: "I realised I was getting increasingly uncomfortable up there in the air. Having to push the physical part of the task was taking some of the joy out of it. Clearly it was time to step away while I was still capable of stepping." ‌ He also went on to say how that was such a big part of his life - and it had been his "most satisfying accomplishment". "Flying that helicopter was a big part of my life. It was a lot of fun, obviously, but also just the most satisfying accomplishment. Some people have the piano, and some people have oil painting. I had the helicopter and it's over now, but I'll always be proud that I can call myself a qualified helicopter pilot," he explained of his love of flying a helicopter. Back in 2023, David also opened up about his health as he admitted his concerns over his memory and his physical health. "My memory isn't what it used to be ... Most of us reach this point when things aren't quite as bright as they used to be," he said as he discussed his hip replacement and his general health, "Mind you, I don't wear a hearing aid, I don't wear glasses, and I've only had to replace one bit of my body, so I'm not doing too bad." Joe Swash reveals the two things he and wife Stacey Solomon can't go on holiday without

JOE Swash has revealed the two things he and Stacey Solomon can't go on holiday without, as the family gear up for their summer getaway. The 43-year-old former EastEnders star and his X Factor contestant wife are planning to jet off to sunnier climates in the coming months - but haven't landed on a location yet. 5 Joe Swash has revealed the two things he and Stacey Solomon can't go on holiday without Credit: SWNS 5 The former EastEnders star and his X Factor contestant wife are planning to jet off to sunnier climates in the coming months Credit: Instagram / @staceysolomon But no matter where they go, they'll end up packing two things as they always do - a crafts box to keep their young children entertained, and flotation devices to keep them safe in the water. Joe said: "Stacey likes to travel with a craft box so the kids can stick out things together and do a bit of drawing. "But we also like to do things with the younger ones, Belle and Rose. Rex not so much now as he's a bit older and he can swim really well, but we make sure we get the armbands for swimming properly. "You can go on holiday and then it's a nightmare if you can't get the right ones. We always want to make sure they have the right swimming equipment so they're safe before we go, so we know that box is ticked." Joe revealed the family are weighing up where to go – but that decision is out of his hands and will be down to the kids. Joe said: 'We do like to go away with a lot of family as well so I'm sure there's going to be more than just us lot. 'We like to go to Turkey as that's where the kids love. We're not 100 per cent sure where it'll be, but there's going to be a lot of us. 'We are driven by what the kids love – wherever they want to go, we do.' Stacey Solomon hits back at cruel troll who branded her a 'horse mouth' He added: 'Our kids have never loved kids club, but they love water parks, swimming, playing sports, football and tennis. 'They've got huge amounts of energy to burn off and because we've got so many of them, there's never a dull moment. "I always say to Stacey that we need a holiday after the holiday.' One thing which never changes is the drenching one another with water when the sun is out. And as summer approaches, Joe has teamed up with Jammie Dodgers, to unveil a limited-edition Super Soaker made in collaboration with Nerf, which has been created to inspire kids to get outside in the sun, and 100 are up being given away every day until 31 July. 'We're always trying to get the kids out into the garden and we're chucking water at each other so it's right up my street. 'I usually come out on top because I can carry the most water.' Discussing his collaboration with the biscuit brand Joe said: 'Jammie Dodgers have been in my family for years - I grew up with them, they were something my mum used to buy and it's something our kids love having as well.' He also revealed his and Stacey's plans to turn their Pickle Cottage to Animal Farm – by getting in goats, pigs and other farmyard animals. The 43-year-old former EastEnders star and his wife have been busy with home and garden improvements to their Essex abode, with one of the latest additions including a beehive. But not settling there, Joe opened the door for the possibility of more animals joining their growing family, which already includes dogs, ducks and fish. 'We had more chickens arrive the other day and I've heard rumours there might be rabbits on the way. 'There's always something new. I wouldn't be surprised if a goat popped up, or a pig. I feel like we're at that stage now.' The first bits of honey were extracted from their beehive recently, and so far, none of the family has been stung – although their dog Peanut did get nipped. 'I think he might have got a bit too close the other day, but he won't be doing that again,' Joe said. Joe and Stacey's interest in becoming more sustainable has spilled over into growing more fruit and vegetables and is something the whole family take part in. Growing fruit and veg in the garden has provided the perfect learning experience for their young children Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two, to learn about where food comes from. Joe said: 'The question is what Stacey isn't growing, that would be easier to answer. She's really transformed the garden and really found a passion for it.' 5 As summer approaches Joe has teamed up with Jammie Dodgers to unveil a limited-edition Super Soaker Credit: BBC 5 The couple will end up packing two things as they always do - a crafts box and flotation devices Credit: BBC
