Rugby-Japan make five changes to team despite win over Wales last week
Two changes in the pack and three in the backline were announced on Thursday with Faulua Makisi replacing Amato Fakatava at the base of the scrum and Keijiro Tamefusa taking over from Shuhei Takeuchi in the front row.
Naoto Saito is back at scrumhalf after helping Toulouse win France's Top 14 competition, which means Shinobu Fujiwara drops to the bench.
Halatoa Vailea, who came on and scored a try in Kitakyushu in the first test, gets a start on the wing and Ichigo Nakakusu, another try scorer at the weekend, replaces the injured Takuro Matsunaga at fullback.
The uncapped duo of Kazuma Ueda and Australian-born Sam Greene were named among the replacements as Jones continues to bolster his squad with an eye on the next World Cup. Last week he named eight uncapped players in his match-day 23.
Wing Ueda was in Japan's sevens team at last year's Olympic Games while 30-year-old Greene is a former Queensland Reds flyhalf.

BERN: Italy reached the quarter-finals of Women's Euro 2025 on Friday despite losing 3-1 to Group B winners Spain, the Azzurre finishing ahead of rivals Portugal whose tournament ended with a dramatic 2-1 defeat to Belgium. Athenea, Patri Guijarro and Esther Gonzalez scored the goals in Bern for Spain who finished the group stage on a perfect nine points, five ahead of second-placed Italy who will face Norway in the last eight on Wednesday. 'We had one key objective and that was to get through,' said Andrea Soncin who has taken Italy to the last eight of the women's Euros for the first time since 2013. 'We can still develop and there is a gap between us and Spain, but you saw that with good organisation we can compete. 'Obviously they have really great players who regardless of how organised you are can mess everything up for you, but we're very happy to have qualified.' Spain meanwhile will take on hosts Switzerland in a week's time as they aim to follow up their World Cup win with a first-ever Euros triumph. Montse Tome's team scored 14 times in three group matches, just four fewer goals they scored in Australia and New Zealand two years ago. But Spain soon began to assert their dominance and four minutes later Athenea brought them level with a wonderful goal, dribbling towards the edge of the area before exchanging passes with Alexia Putellas and curling home a superb finish. The Spanish continued to have the lion's share of possession but Italy were dangerous on the break, with Martina Piemonte, up front in place of Cristiana Girelli, shanked wide when clean through on goal. And Barbara Bonansea headed over Sofia Cantore's cross two minutes before the break as Italy pushed ot retake the lead. But Spain were deservedly in front three minutes after the break through Patri whose sliced first-time finish crept past Italy goalkeeper Laura Giulinani. Spain poured forward and added a third in stoppage time through Esther Gonzalez. But it mattered little by that point as even though Telma Encarnacao levelled late for Portugal, Cayman lashed home a loose ball in the 96th minute to give Belgium a thrilling win after they had two goals chalked off by VAR. Leader Pogacar keeps ear on partner's progress in middle of Tour stage
LAVAL, (France): Tadej Pogacar may be concentrating intensely on winning his fourth Tour de France, but in the middle of Saturday's stage eight he was just as focused on how his partner Urska Zigart was performing in the Giro d'Italia Women. Slovenia's golden couple of cycling are engaged to be married and even have a children's book featuring them as the main characters. Reigning Tour champion Pogacar, 26, regained the leader's yellow jersey after winning Friday's stage, and with Saturday's race at a more leisurely pace until the sprint finish, he was kept up to date on Zigart's result by his team. "Today, Urska seventh place at Giro d'Italia stage," UAE Team Emirates told him via their team radio. "And in the General Classification?" Pogacar asked. "Wait, wait, we still don't have info, maybe ninth but we will check when it will be official, we will tell you okay?" his team replied. Zigart actually moved from 10th to eight overall in the Giro after Saturday's penultimate stage, while Pogacar finished safely in the main bunch to remain 54 seconds ahead of his nearest Tour de France challenger Remco Evenepoel. Pogacar and 28-year-old Zigart became engaged in 2021, and at other times in their career it has been easier to keep up to date with one another's successes. In 2020 and 2023 they both became Slovenian National Time Trial champions on the same day. Towel thief Swiatek gets personalised Wimbledon souvenir
LONDON: During the Wimbledon fortnight, a grinning Iga Swiatek was often caught on camera cramming dozens of official towels into her tennis bags, creating a running joke that 'Wimbledon's towel thief strikes again!' On Saturday, Wimbledon marked her love of the towels by presenting the new champion with a personalised purple and green version — one that can never be taken away from her. After her 6-0 6-0 thrashing of Amanda Anisimova in the final, Swiatek completed her media duties and then posed for a picture holding up a towel that had the words "Property of Iga Swiatek, Wimbledon Champion" emblazoned on it. "This one's for keeps," Wimbledon posted on X, alongside a picture of a beaming Swiatek. Swiatek had said following her opening round victory that tennis players loved their towels.
