Equus Claims Management approved as Lloyd's DCA

Yahoo26-06-2025
Equus Claims Management, a company specialising in equine insurance, has secured Lloyd's Delegated Claims Administrator (DCA) status.
The accreditation follows sponsorship from insurance group Canopius.
The company, led by co-founders Mark Pilkington and David Nolan, is known for its expertise in the equine field, particularly within bloodstock, sports and recreational horse industries.
Equus is also involved in adjusting claims for several UK equestrian associations.
Pilkington and Nolan commented: 'Becoming a Lloyd's DCA is testament to our relationship with the Canopius team and shall only add to Equus' ability to be on-hand for clients in their hour of need.'
Equus services include first notification of loss, third party administration, and claim handling from initiation to resolution.
The company also offers investigative services and facilitates direct access to external equine experts for its clients.
Canopius Equine & Livestock head Jeremy Chappell said: 'Having had the pleasure of working with Dave and Mark for several years, we are delighted to help facilitate Equus' path to Lloyd's DCA status whilst providing additional reassurance to our customer base in the event of an accident.'
In April, Canopius engaged Global Parametrics, a CelsiusPro company, as a coverholder for its Lloyd's Syndicate 4444.
Global Parametrics has entered into a binding authority agreement, enabling it to underwrite insurance products with an initial emphasis on natural disaster perils such as tropical cyclones, earthquakes, floods and excess rainfall.
It is expected to contribute to the development of Canopius' portfolio in the area of natural catastrophe risks.
"Equus Claims Management approved as Lloyd's DCA " was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.

Loyola University gives look inside newly acquired historic homes in Rogers Park

Loyola University Chicago has several locations, including its main campus in Rogers Park, but now it also has two historic homes – including one designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright – that were recently donated to the school by a company owned by a member of the Pritzker family. TAWANI Property Management, founded by Col. Jennifer Pritzker, a cousin of Gov. JB Pritzker, donated the Emil Bach House and the Lang House – neighboring homes on Sheridan Road in Rogers Park – to Loyola in January, along with $1 million to cover upkeep and operating expenses. "We've had some special events. We're having some private meetings. So we're still figuring it out, and looking at the opportunities that we have between the two homes," said Loyola director of conference services and concierge Judy Sunvold. Loyola is still figuring out the future of the two homes, but already knows their history. Lang House, named after one of the original owners, was built around 1920. "The very first owner of this was a milliner, and he had shops in the Palmer House and the Bizmarck hotels downtown," Sunvold said. A milliner is a hatmaker. The Lang House was also briefly home to WBBM radio for about a year in the 1920s. The information about the house's namesake is part of a written history that came with the home. "It's just got a great old-time feel to it in a sense, and with whether it be the china closet or just a big large table to be able to sit down and enjoy time and visit" Sunvold said. Its floor plan gives it an open and inviting feel. "It's more of an open atmosphere. It has the divided dining room, in a sense, and living room, and the different sitting area," Sunvold said. The Bach House next door is very different. It was designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright, with a fireplace at its center. "So, you go from the fireplace and the seating area to round the corner to be able to have bay window-type windows that face onto Sheridan," Sunvold said. It features the famous Frank Lloyd Wright houseware and furniture designs, with a dining room built into the living room area. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation said Bach House it was built in 1915 for the owner of the Bach Brick Company. It also has a big back yard, with a Japanese tea house. It's the only home left of its kind, making it an historic addition to already historic university. "It's been fun to learn more and more and I little bits in the history," Sunvold said. Public tours of the Bach House will be available in October as part of the Chicago Architecture Center's Open House Chicago.

DCA Bot Development Guide: Automate Your Long-Term Crypto Investment Strategy

The crypto market never stops for anyone; it changes every day, discloses new opportunities, and eliminates the existing ones. Over 80 per cent of crypto traders panic buy or sell. Remains? They're pretty smart and take the help of bots, like DCA! Strange? What is the DCA bot? So, it's basically a crypto trading bot that lets traders invest small amounts, stress-free, without fear of loss. This bot runs automatically and keeps users engaged, gains their trust, and improves long-term reservations. Once you have gained short but significant information about the DCA bot and are more likely to know in-depth information related to its development, keep scrolling through this comprehensive guide until the end. DCA, also known as a dollar cost averaging crypto trading bot, is software that automatically invests a set amount of money into a cryptocurrency at regular intervals. Instead of waiting for the right time to buy, this bot spreads out your investment over time, depending on the price. What will be the benefit of it? So, it reduces the risk of buying all at once when the price is high. Understand it with a simple example: Let's assume you want to invest $1000 in Bitcoin, but instead of buying it once, you use a DCA bot. Through this bot, your investment will be divided into multiple parts, and it will invest $100 every week for 10 weeks. However, if the price goes up or down during this period, it will not affect your investment, and the bot will buy $100 worth. Over this period, you will get an average price, which will not be the highest or lowest. Unlike all the bots, using the DCA bot is meaningful because it automates a proven investment strategy. Let's have a look at how developing DCA bots will help traders in managing an investment's average cost. The core benefit of these bots is that they remove the emotional aspect entirely, which leads to more impulsive decisions. By automating purchases, the bot ensures the investments are made frequently without fear or greed. DCA bots are primarily beneficial in volatile markets like cryptocurrency. This strategy is effective in both up and down markets by spreading the purchases and avoiding the risk of buying many assets. Another benefit of using this bot is higher returns. It is not guaranteed, but DCA bots typically purchase more units when prices are low, which leads to more profit. This strategy primarily benefits long-term investors who hold assets through market cycles. The DCA bots automate the investment process, leading to savings in time and effort for other activities. However, once set up, the bot will run and make potential purchases without human monitoring. After learning about DCA and its benefits, it is apparent to wonder how it works. Are you also curious to know? Don't worry, here is how it works: The bot starts by asking users to set specific details, such as How much do you want to invest each time? How often do you invest? Which cryptocurrencies to invest in? When to start and stop? With the help of the scheduler, the individual will be able to trigger their investment. Once the schedule is set, the bot will automatically check the time and start investing. For example, if the user sets the schedule for Friday at 11 PM, then both will follow the trend wisely. The bot is connected to a crypto exchange through secure application programming interfaces. This allows it: Check the user's wallet to ensure there is sufficient money. Determine the current market price of a particular crypto. Place the order using the set amount. This advanced feature allows users to choose to invest in more than one cryptocurrency. This bot ensures that users make investments in the right proportion. Each time the bot purchases, it records the complete details in a well-maintained order. Such as: How much was invested? What crypto was bought? What was the price at the time? Total portfolio value The bot helps the user to stay informed with every needful alert. Such as: Trade confirmation Providing a warning of funds Weekly and monthly performance This is how this advanced software works, but by using this bot, users will get the benefit of a better user experience, such as personalized investment settings, an innovative scheduling system, a portfolio rebalancing option, and real-time transactions. Overall, the crypto DCA trading bot provides an automated and well-controlled approach to cryptocurrency investment. By using these strategies, these bots help investors to trade and gain profit easily without worrying about loss. Further, if you're a long-term investor, then utilizing this bot is an excellent option for you. Moreover, if you're planning to build a cryptocurrency bot, you'll need to partner with a crypto trading bot development company. In this segment, you'll surely find multiple companies, but choosing Technoloader over them will definitely be a worthwhile experience. So, what are you waiting for? With top-notch services and an end-to-end solution, you'll be able to maximize your trading experience. TIME BUSINESS NEWS

Maersk raises guidance on higher Q2 volumes

Maersk said second quarter container volumes were 4.2% higher from the same period a year ago, and raised its forecast for full-year earnings. A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, parent company of the world's second-largest shipping line, reported revenue grew 2.8% in the quarter ended June 30 to $13.1 billion from $12.8 billion a year ago. Operating earnings (EBIT) fell to $845 million from $963 million. Ocean revenue rose to $8.57 billion from $8.37 billion. EBITDA was $1.44 billion from $1.41, and EBIT came in at $229 million, down from $470 million. Copenhagen-based Maersk (OTC: AMKBY) cited geopolitical uncertainty and continued rate pressure for weaker profit, but noted continued strong results in marine terminals, volume growth in ocean shipping, and increased profitability in logistics & services. It said all segments were benefiting from continued operational improvements and lower costs. Resilient market demand outside of North America led Maersk to raise its full-year 2025 financial guidance for pre-tax earnings (EBITDA) to $8 billion to $9.5 billion from $6 billion to $9 billion, and EBIT to $2 billion to $3.5 billion from unchanged to $3 billion. It left capital expenditures for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 unchanged at $10 billion to $11 billion. Global container volume has been revised to between 2% and 4% from -1% and 4%. Disruptions in the Red Sea from renewed threats against shipping Houthi militia is expected to last through 2025. 'We have had a strong first half of the year, driven by consistent follow-through on our operational improvement plans and the successful launch of the Gemini Cooperation [with Hapag-Lloyd],' said Maersk Chief Executive Vincent Clerc, in the release 'Our new east-west network is raising the bar on reliability and setting new industry standards. It has been a key driver of increased volumes and solid delivery of our ocean business. Even with market volatility and historical uncertainty in global trade, demand remained resilient.' Ocean shipping saw volumes grew 4.2% from a year ago, mainly driven by exports out of Asia. Freight rates improved in the quarter, while still being under pressure both sequentially and compared to 2024. The Gemini tie-up that began in June saw schedule reliability above the 90% target.
