HAMZAH SHEERAZ admits to indulging in one too many cheat meals after moving up in weight - despite giving his beloved Coca-Cola the KO.

He debuts at super-middleweight on Saturday against New Yorker Edgar Berlanga in the Big Apple - having enjoyed a cheat meal or two.
Sheeraz told SunSport with a laugh: 'I've been having too many!
'Listen, 168 is good, it's a more natural weight for me but then at the same time, it's not just like, 'Oh, he's going up and it's gonna be easy to make.'

'It's still gonna be a little difficult, not as difficult as 160, but a little difficult. So I've still gotta stay disciplined and keep doing what I do.'
He said: "Especially when you enjoy food, it is hard.
"But then at the same time, once I go into that mode, once you're in that mode, there's no taking me out of it.

Sheeraz recently took his sacrifices to new heights after ditching Coca-Cola - which had been his sugary kryptonite.
He chuckled: 'My substitute for it is sparkling water. It gives you the same kind of texture, same feeling, but it doesn't do the job.
'But it's cool, it's cool boxing's about sacrifices and that's an easy sacrifice to make.'

But after flying out to the New York launch press conference in May to go face to face with Berlanga - Sheeraz got one last feast.
And he just had to check out New York's famous pizza slices for himself and reckons it could be his new favourite cheat meal.
He said: "Ever since I've been out here in New York, I've been having a pizza out here and it genuinely is different, so it'd be that.'
Sheeraz, 26, is back the city that never sleeps as he looks to put his rivalry with American hot-head Berlanga, 28, to bed.

Berlanga - who once had 16 straight first-round KOs - was beaten in a one-sided decision to Mexican legend Canelo Alvarez last September.
He has since bounced back with another first-round knock over in March and appears fired up for his hometown return to face Sheeraz.
But Sheeraz said: "Once he takes a few, once I land a few on his chin, I'm telling you, his whole demeanor will change.
'And then it'll be an interesting fight from there because then it will turn into a lot more of a chess match than it ever was in his mind.

'But yeah, I ain't backing down. I'm there to have a fight and I'm there to have it out.'

Sarah Bolger to star in Irish-American crime series from the creator of Narcos

IRISH actress Sarah Bolger is to star in a new Irish-American crime series from Narcos creator Chris Brancato. The Westies is described as a gritty and kinetic crime drama that centres on New York City's infamously violent Irish gang of the same name. According to Variety, 34-year-old Bolger will star as IRA operative Bridget Walsh. She will link up with Oscar winner JK Simmons, who will lead the cast as crime boss Eamonn Sweeney. The new series from MGM+ is set in the early 1980s when the construction of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center on the Westies' home turf in Hell's Kitchen promises a financial windfall. "Despite being outnumbered fifty-to-one by the Five Families of the Italian Mafia, the Westies' legendary brutality and cunning have given them the leverage necessary to share the spoils through a fragile détente," reads the synopsis. "But internal conflict between the brash younger generation and the old-school leadership threatens to set a match to this powder keg, which will sweep the Westies into the FBI's ever-deepening investigation into the Italian mafia." 'Passion project' Bolger rose to fame after starring in Jim Sheridan's 2002 film, In America, and later played Mary Tudor in the BBC series, The Tudors. She also had a main role in the recent Sons of Anarchy spin-off, Mayans MC. Brancato, who will serve as executive producer and showrunner, said the series had been a 'passion project' of his for some time. "This is a story about ambition, loyalty, and power, set against the backdrop of 1980s New York," he added. "I'm grateful to be working again alongside my collaborators Michael Panes (co-creator) and most especially with Michael Wright (Head of MGM+) and the entire MGM+ team." The eight-episode series marks his third collaboration with MGM+ following the success of the critically-acclaimed Godfather of Harlem and the crime thriller Hotel Cocaine. He previously created the Netflix series Narcos and its spin-off Narcos: Mexico. The Westies went into production this month in Toronto, Canada and will premiere on MGM+. Two 'incredible' new professional dancers join Strictly Come Dancing cast

Two "incredible" new professional dancers will join the Strictly Come Dancing cast, the BBC has announced. American-born Alexis Warr and Australian-born Julian Caillon will join the hit dance competition series as it returns to BBC One and iPlayer this autumn. Warr, who is best known for winning the US dance series So You Think You Can Dance in 2022 and was crowned America's favourite dancer, became the first female ballroom and Latin dancer to claim the title. On joining Strictly Come Dancing, Warr said: "I've admired Strictly for years, so joining this incredible family is such an honour. "I can't wait to step into the ballroom, pour my heart into every moment, and share my love of dance with the UK." 🪩✨ Please welcome our two new Strictly Professional Dancers! 💃🏽🕺🏼Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon join the #Strictly Come Dancing family when the series returns this autumn on @BBCiPlayer Info ➡️ — BBC Press Office (@bbcpress) July 27, 2025 Caillon, who specialises in ballroom and Latin American, has appeared as a professional dancer for three seasons of Australia's version of Strictly Come Dancing, titled Australia's Dancing With The Stars. Neil Jones will also return in the autumn along with Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Jowita Przystal. Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, added: "Alexis and Julian are the perfect additions to Strictly, and we can't wait for you to see them light up the ballroom this autumn. "With our fantastic professional dancers, plus everything else we love about Strictly, the new series promises to be bigger, better and even more glitter-packed than ever before." The news comes after the series faced a string of incidents this year, including Welsh tenor and former BBC Radio Wales presenter, Wynne Evans, being dropped by the broadcaster after he made an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. Months later, EastEnders star James Borthwick was also suspended from the BBC after a video emerged of the actor using a disabled slur on the set of the dance programme.
