Campaign against plans for chicken poo gas plant in Anwick
The plant would be built next to the Moy Park poultry factory, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.Planning documents state that the designs would ensure the plant "can operate efficiently while minimising any potential impacts as much as possible". Smells and noise would be carefully controlled and the facility would not be an eyesore in this location, the documents add. There would be no noticeable increase in traffic, with most of the waste and feedstock coming from the local area, the plans state.
'Critical concerns'
The application has been in the works for more than a year.A petition against the plant has gathered more than 500 signatures. An introduction to the online petition argues that the proposal "ignores critical concerns about the wellbeing of Anwick residents".It also raises concerns about "increased traffic congestion, odour, and disruption from both construction and the ongoing transportation of waste".Lincolnshire County Council will decide whether to approve the application, which is open for public comment.Listen to highlights from Hull and East Yorkshire on BBC Sounds, watch the latest episode of Look North or tell us about a story you think we should be covering here.
