Deadly New York shooting: Gunman Shane Tamura used Palmetto State Armory AR-15 in massacre at Manhattan skyscraper
The Palmetto State Armory AR-15 assault rifle used in the shooting that killed an NYPD cop and four civilians is .223-caliber and is equipped with a black scope, a handguard and a shoulder sling.
Photos show the green handguard of the rifle soaked in blood on the carpet in a 33rd-floor office inside 345 Park Avenue, where the 27-year-old carried out the rush-hour mass shooting.
The gun retails for about $420 and appears to have a magazine with a 30-round capacity.
A concealed firearms permit from Las Vegas, Nevada, was found at the scene with a photo of the suspect and his name.
The permit was issued in July 2022, according to the photo.
Tamura unleashed a 'barrage of shots' with the assault rifle, which witnesses said sounded 'like an automatic weapon' — killing five people and injuring several others in the violent spree that began at around 6:30 p.m.
He turned the gun on himself on the 33rd floor of the building, which houses the headquarters for Blackstone and the NFL.

New York's Times Square evacuated after ‘suspicious device' sparks chaos
Terrified crowds were rushed out of Times Square over reports of a 'suspicious device' on Monday morning. A bomb squad and emergency services raced to the scene as terrified tourists evacuated the area. Police responded to the site after receiving a call about a suspicious device, the New York Police Department told The US Sun. The device, shaped like a cylinder, was found outside the NYPD station in Times Square at around 10:30 am, cops said. Cops issued a warning on social media telling people to avoid the scene until it's cleared. Pedestrians, bikes, and cars weren't allowed to cross the blocked-off street. 'Expect emergency vehicles and delays in the surrounding area,' NYPD said. After cops investigated the area for an hour, Times Square was cleared and opened again. 'The area has reopened to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic,' NYPD said. Pictures and videos from the Manhattan scene showed crime scene tape blocking off the street. Footage shared to social media showed the suspicious device was located directly in front of the NYPD station in Times Square. Images taken from the Syncuity AI office in Midtown showed a member of the bomb squad lying on the sidewalk as they dissected the suspicious package. Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue between 42nd and 47th Streets. The wide streets were quiet and totally empty during Monday's investigation. The ghost town was an eerie change for the intersection, which is normally packed with Manhattan commuters and tourists on summer mornings. But instead of the usual bustle of one of the city's most famous landmarks, cops were seen standing alone as they directed pedestrians away from the scene. A helicopter was heard flying over the Midtown area as emergency sirens rang throughout the deserted streets. The blocked off area was near West 43rd Street and 7th Avenue. The 42nd Street Times Square Station, which is the busiest station in New York City, was also cleared out as a precaution. However, subway services weren't disrupted by the incident, the MTA said. People started to filter back into the area just after noon.

Illegal migrant truck driver suspect in deadly Florida crash was given work permit under Joe Biden after being denied by Donald Trump: DHS
The illegal migrant truck driver who allegedly killed three people after making a rogue U-turn on a Florida highway was handed work papers under the Biden administration after they were denied during President Trump's first term, the Department of Homeland Security said Monday. Harjinder Singh crossed the southern border into California in September 2018 and was processed for fast-track deportation by the first Trump administration, sources told The Post. The Indian national was previously processed for deportation, but was able to stay after claiming he feared being sent back home. Singh was later released on a $5,000 immigration bond in January 2019 and still awaits a decision on his asylum case. After receiving his work permit in June 2021, Singh was able to secure a Commercial Driver's License in California, according to DHS. On Monday, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin hit back at an X post from California Gov. Gavin Newsom's office after it accused the Trump administration of issuing the work permit and either 'lying' or acting 'clueless' about it. 'False. Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020. It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021,' said McLaughlin. 'The state of California issues Commercial Drivers Licenses. There is no national CDL. Sincerely, Genius,' she concluded. US Marshals in California nabbed Singh on Saturday on a warrant for three counts of vehicular homicide in connection with the deadly crash in Florida at around 3 p.m. last Thursday. Singh allegedly made a hard left turn while driving a tractor-trailer on the Florida Turnpike near Fort Pierce and attempted to cross the median through an 'Official Use Only' pass, authorities said. The trailer blocked all lanes of oncoming traffic when a minivan slammed into it at full speed. The victims' vehicle became wedged underneath the trailer, killing a 37-year-old Pompano Beach woman, a 30-year-old Florida City man and a 54-year-old Miami man, Treasure Coast Newspapers reported. The two passengers died at the scene, and the driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Neither Singh nor his passenger was injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Shocking video taken inside the truck cab showed Singh seemingly unfazed at the moment of the crash as he calmly put the vehicle into park and turned off the engine. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a detainer for Singh so they can move to deport him while ensuring he remains in custody. The illegal migrant faces three counts of vehicular homicide. 'The actions taken by the Defendant while operating a commercial tractor-trailer are both shocking and criminal, FLHSMV Director Dave Kerner said. 'Three people lost their lives as a result of his recklessness, and countless friends and family members will experience the pain of their loss forever.' Gladiator star Russell Crowe breaks silence over infamous 2005 phone-throwing incident in New York City
Russell Crowe has candidly opened up on his infamous 2005 phone-throwing incident which saw the Australian film star charged with assault. Crowe, 61, spent six hours in jail before being charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon after he threw a telephone at the concierge of New York's Mercer Hotel in 2005. The concierge, who was treated for a facial laceration, had refused to place a long-distance call to Crowe's then-wife, Danielle Spencer, in Sydney after the system did not work from the Gladiator actor's room. The NYPD were called and subsequently arrested Crowe before famously parading him around the streets of New York in handcuffs. The scene was splashed across the front of international newspapers. In a stunning turn of events, Crowe on Sunday featured footage of his arrest in technicolour in a film clip with his band The Gentleman Barbers. He reflected on his arguably darkest hour in the lyrics of the new hit Save Me, crooning: 'I pushed away my loved ones until I had nobody else.' 'I burned all of my friends like cheap sex and cigarettes in this hotel – who's going to save me, who's going to save me from myself?' Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Crowe said although he regretted the 2005 scandal, his feeling of remorse had taught him an important lesson. 'I am a fan of regret,' Crowe told the newspaper on Sunday. 'I see it as a great teacher, so there's a lot of regrets based around that (incident), but it is nothing that I don't understand'. Crowe said that upon reaching his 60s, he can forgive his 'bad days' and championed his belief that people should embrace their guilt. 'I'm not at all one of those people that say you shouldn't have regrets, I absolutely respect regret…regret is one of the greatest processes. 'The thing is, with regret, you can't hang it on the wall like a painting, you know, it's more ephemeral, you see it, you recognise it and you move on, you grow, you get better, you get smarter with how you deal with things." After his arrest, a US judge conditionally discharged Crowe, who had pleaded guilty in a trial. He was fined but avoided jail time. The actor also settled a lawsuit filed by the injured hotel clerk, the terms of which are undisclosed, but reports indicate a six-figure sum was paid. Appearing on a US TV show in August 2005, the Oscar-winning actor said the hotel incident was "possibly the most shameful situation that I've ever gotten myself I've done some pretty dumb things in my life". He said the outburst was the result of "jet lag, loneliness and adrenaline". Crowe separated from Danielle Spencer in 2012 after 9 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalised in 2018. The pair share two sons, Charles Spencer Crowe, 22 and Tennyson Spencer Crowe, 19. Crowe reportedly married his American fiancée, Britney Theriot, in a discreet ceremony in London in April. The couple split their time between Sydney and Coffs Harbour, where Crowe is building a $400 million film studio, dubbed 'Aussiewood'. He also owns a 400-hectare property called Wild Guy Station in nearby Nana Glen and regularly retreats there when not filming.
