Videotex, India's leading original design manufacturer (ODM) for TVs, is aiming to double its turnover to INR 1,000 crore in the next four years from the current annual revenue of about INR 450 crore.
Videotex makes TVs for leading brands like Lloyd (Havells), Reliance (BPL, Reconnect), Vijay Sales (Vise), Daiwa and over 25 other brands. While television will remain its mainstay, the Noida-based company has plans to enter new categories as part of its expansion plans.
"Videotex plans to diversify its product portfolio by entering into new categories, capitalising on our strong brand partnerships, commitment to product quality, and manufacturing excellence. On the operations front, we are enhancing our injection moulding capabilities and integrating AI for smarter, more efficient production," Arjun Bajaj, Director of Videotex told Entrepreneur India.
"We also aim to onboard over 10 new brands in the LED space by FY2028–29, further reinforcing our position as a leading OEM in the industry. In addition, we are focused on developing new technologies for the premium segment while also continuing to improve and expand our offerings in the affordable segment, ensuring we cater to the full spectrum of consumer needs in the market," Bajaj said.
Videotex has a manufacturing capacity of 2.2 million TVs per year in its existing plant. However, in its new plant (Phase 2), it will expand to a total capacity of 3.2 million units annually in the next two years.
As part of its future strategic roadmap, Videotex is placing significant focus on Mini LED technology. "As the first Indian-origin company to introduce Mini LED Smart TVs, we are bringing Full Array Local Dimming Zone Technology to market, delivering deeper blacks, superior contrast, and enhanced brightness. Our goal is to offer a near-OLED experience at a more accessible price point, setting a new standard beyond conventional LED technology," Bajaj said.
"We are also proud to have been instrumental in creating the WebOS TV market in India, and we will continue to emphasise and expand on this platform as a key differentiator in our offerings. Apart from that, we will also be introducing other platforms, offering our partners a complete range of solution choices," he added.
Asked about the future of television at a time when mobile devices seem to dominate, Bajaj said that the pandemic served as a "reality check" where small screens cannot match the immersive entertainment experience that larger TVs provide. "With increasing affordability and evolving consumer aspirations, a significant number of Indian households now own two or more TVS, compared to just one in the past," he said.
There also has been a noticeable shift in OTT consumption patterns. "While smartphones, driven by low-cost devices and data, accounted for nearly 70 per cent of OTT usage around 2018, that trend is evolving. By 2023, over 45 per cent of OTT users preferred watching content on smart TVs. This reflects a strong move toward larger, feature-rich screens that offer a more cinematic, home-theatre-like experience, especially as more films premiere directly on OTT platforms," Bajaj said.

In Q1 2025, Crocs reported revenue of about $937 million, essentially flat year over year. On paper, that may not sound like much. But dig deeper, and you'll find a company expanding margins, growing profits, and navigating supply chain uncertainty with precision. The shoe stock is still down about 24% year over year, but with earnings growth and strategic resilience in hand, could Crocs be growing into a bigger size? Let's see how it measures up. Crocs doesn't sell just one brand, but two: the original Crocs and the newer HEYDUDE. We can think of the company as running a race with two different shoes. One is a proven performer; the other is still getting broken in. The stronger fit is the original Crocs brand, which has demonstrated consistent revenue growth over recent quarters. In Q1 2025, revenues increased by 2.4% year over year to $762 million, with international markets like China and Western Europe driving double-digit gains that offset softer U.S. wholesale demand. Lower product costs and a smarter customer mix for the brand helped lift adjusted gross margins for the enterprise to 57.8%, up 180 basis points from a year ago. In other words, the Crocs isn't just growing: It's getting more efficient with every sale. Operationally, then, the Crocs brand is moving with purpose. But the other shoe -- HEYDUDE -- is a bit more problematic. Acquired for $2.5 billion in 2022, HEYDUDE was meant to extend Crocs' dominance into casual footwear. Instead, it's become a source of uncertainty. Revenue fell 9.8% in Q1 to $176 million, with sales at department stores and third-party retailers falling 17.9%. At the same time, HEYDUDE saw some growth selling directly from its own website and stores (about 8.3%). That traction, however, hasn't been enough to steady the brand, nor convince investors that it's ready to carry its share of the weight. One of the biggest storylines from Q1 wasn't a number. It was the lack of one. Crocs pulled its full-year 2025 guidance, pointing to macro uncertainty and rising trade tensions. New U.S. tariffs on goods from China could drive up production costs, and with much of Crocs' manufacturing still based in Asia, the company is playing it safe. It's not ideal, but Crocs isn't the only one bracing for impact. Sketchers withdrew full-year guidance in April, Adidas refrained from raising its 2025 financial forecast despite strong first-quarter results, and Deckers warned that tariffs could cost up to $150 million in fiscal 2026. Retailers across the board are hedging toward visibility, which could make shoe stocks like Crocs more volatile for the next few quarters. The upside? Crocs has pricing power. Its products are distinct, popular, and affordable enough that customers won't likely balk at a modest price hike. That said, pricing power only matters if Crocs protects its margins, which is something investors should watch closely. Crocs has built momentum on culture as much as comfort. And, right now, the culture is still buying. TikTok trends, celebrity nods, and a shift toward more versatile casual wear have all worked in Crocs' favor. But fashion is fickle, and Crocs is playing a careful game. It ended Q1 with $166 million in cash and cut its debt by nearly $250 million. Capital spending, though, came in at just $15 million, a modest figure compared to peers. Crocs is still digesting the HEYDUDE acquisition, which limits how aggressively it can reinvest elsewhere. The brand is still trending, and the balance sheet looks stable. But in this industry, staying fashionable might demand a bit more risk than what Crocs is currently taking. True, not everyone's a fan of Crocs' aesthetic. But investors don't have to wear them to appreciate the numbers: rising earnings, solid margins, and a surprisingly low multiple. At the time of writing (May 26, 2025), Crocs trades at around 6.8 times trailing earnings, meaning investors are paying just under $7 for every $1 of earnings. That's pretty cheap by almost any standard, especially when compared against Sketchers (14.9), Deckers (20), and Adidas (38). To be sure, those companies are bigger, with broader product lines and a global scale to match. But that's exactly what makes Crocs' lower multiple so compelling. For a company that is still growing earnings, expanding margins, and riding a consumer wave, this kind of valuation suggests that investors may be overlooking its potential. The stock comes with scuff marks you shouldn't ignore: Tariffs could eat into profits, and HEYDUDE still needs to catch up. But if Crocs' fundamentals continue to hold up, today's low valuation may not last. For long-term investors who believe Crocs can stay relevant, now might be a smart time to buy in. Samsung's next foldables look crazy thin in this new leak

These colorways are said to be called Blue Shadow and Jet Black. Samsung is gearing up to launch the next generation of its foldable phones. As we inch closer to the eventual announcement, predictably, leaks have been ramping up. Previously, we've seen CAD renders of both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Now, a new leak claims to give us a look at 'official' renders of both handsets. Courtesy of Android Headlines, we have a new collection of renders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 to check out. These 'official' renders present both foldables in two colorways, which are reportedly called Blue Shadow and Jet Black. More colorways are expected to be available, but these are the only two included in this report. According to earlier leaks, Samsung has made both foldables fairly thinner than previous iterations. The Fold 7, in particular, is rumored to be about 4.54mm thin when unfolded, which would be only slightly thicker than the OPPO Find N5 (4.21mm). In the images above, we can see the Flip 7 and the Fold 7 compared to their predecessors. While the Flip has never been overly thick, it's clear Samsung has found a way to cut off some of the fat. However, the difference in size is even more noticeable between the Fold 7 and Fold 6. Both devices are also expected to get larger cover displays. For the Flip 7, Samsung is ditching the manila folder-like design and is opting to use the entire cover. Meanwhile, the cover display on the Fold 7 is expected to grow from 6.3 inches to 6.5 inches. This will also result in a bigger inner screen, which is said to be 8.2 inches. Rumors are pointing to June 9 as the date for Samsung's next Unpacked event. If true, that means we'll only have to wait a few more weeks for the launch. In addition to these foldables, it's expected that Samsung's next smartwatches will appear at the show. Air India under fire for flying planes with overdue emergency equipment checks

Aviation regulator warned Air India for operating three Airbus planes with overdue mandatory inspections on emergency escape slides. The regulator's report indicated "systemic control failure" at Air India, citing the airline's slow response to safety concerns and poor internal oversight. Air India said it is 'accelerating' the verification of all maintenance records, though the airline has previously faced multiple safety violations, including 12 instances that resulted in warnings or fines last year. India's aviation regulator has warned Air India for breaching safety rules after three of its Airbus planes flew despite being overdue on checks on emergency equipment and for being slow to address the issue, government documents show. The warning notices and an investigation report - both reviewed by Reuters - were not in any way related to last week's crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 plane that killed all but one of the 242 people onboard and were sent days before that incident In the report, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said spot checks in May on three Air India Airbus planes found that they were operated despite mandatory inspections being overdue on the "critical emergency equipment" of escape slides. In one case, the watchdog found that the inspection of an Airbus A320 jet was delayed by more than a month before being carried out on 15 May. AirNav Radar data shows that during the delay, the plane flew to international destinations such as Dubai, Riyadh and Jeddah. Another case, involving an Airbus A319 used on domestic routes, showed checks were over three months late, while a third showed an inspection was two days late. "The above cases indicate that aircraft were operated with expired or unverified emergency equipment, which is a violation of standard airworthiness and safety requirements," the DGCA report said. Air India "failed to submit timely compliance responses" to deficiencies raised by the DGCA, "further evidencing weak procedural control and oversight," it added. Air India, which was taken over by the Tata Group in 2022 from the government, said in a statement that it was 'accelerating' the verification of all maintenance records, including the dates of the escape slides, and would complete the process in the coming days. In one of the cases, Air India said, the issue came to light when an engineer from AI Engineering Services "inadvertently deployed an escape slide during maintenance". The DGCA and Airbus did not respond to Reuters queries. Checks on escape slides are "a very serious issue. In case of accident, if they don't open, it can lead to serious injuries," said Vibhuti Singh, a former legal expert at the government's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau. The DGCA said in its report that the certificates of airworthiness for aircraft that miss mandatory checks were "deemed suspended". The documents showed that Animesh Garg, a deputy director of airworthiness in the Indian government, sent the warning notices and the report to Air India CEO Campbell Wilson, as well as the airline's continuing airworthiness manager, quality manager, and head of planning. An Indian aviation lawyer said such breaches typically attract monetary and civil penalties on both individual executives and the airline. Wilson told Reuters last year that global parts shortages were affecting most airlines, but the problem was "more acute" for Air India as its "product is obviously a lot more dated", with many planes not refreshed since they were delivered in 2010-2011. The Indian regulator, like many abroad, often fines airlines for compliance lapses. India's junior aviation minister in February told parliament that authorities had warned or fined airlines in 23 instances for safety violations last year. Around half of them - 12 - involved Air India and Air India Express, including in one case for "unauthorised entry into cockpit". The biggest fine was $127 000 on Air India for "insufficient oxygen on board" during a flight to San Francisco. Last week's crash, the causes of which are still being investigated, will further challenge Air India's attempts to rebuild its image after years of criticism from travellers for poor service. Air India's Chairman N. Chandrasekaran on Monday told staff the crash should be a catalyst to build a safer airline, urging employees to stay resolute amid any criticism. In its report, the DGCA also said several Air India aircraft checked by officials had outdated registration paperwork. Air India told Reuters all but one aircraft complied with such requirements and this "poses no impact" to safety. The DGCA investigation report pulled up the airline for what it described as "inadequate internal oversight." "Despite prior notifications and identified deficiencies, the organization's internal quality and planning departments failed to implement effective corrective action, indicating systemic control failure," it said.
