SINGAPORE - Amid the star-studded June 15 wedding of local actress Tay Ying and chef Wu Sihan, her mother, Singaporean actress Hong Huifang, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming music video she dedicated to the newlyweds.
It features 64-year-old Hong, Tay's actor-father Zheng Geping, 61, Tay's younger brother Calvert, a 25-year-old singer-actor, Tay's uncle and godfather Hong Weiwen and Tay's singer-musician cousin Xu Qingrui.
The MV captures the five of them in a recording studio, all dressed in white, taking turns to sing the original song individually and in unison. The love ballad was a surprise gift to the couple, and was produced by Calvert.
In the caption of the June 16 post, Hong addressed her daughter and son-in-law directly, saying: 'May your marriage be blissful, and may you cherish each other. May both of you be surrounded by love, and know how to love others. May you journey through life with the warmth you have from home. We love you, and always will.'
Xu, better known by the moniker Shin, subsequently posted on his Instagram Stories that despite the video being three minutes, the project spanned an entire day.
Tay, 29, reposted it on her Instagram Story and said: 'The biggest surprise from my sweetest family. Girl was ugly crying watching this. Thank you so much, I love you all.'

REUTERS/Manuel Silvestri Scaffolding goes up in Venice to save Banksy's migrant mural VENICE - Scaffolding went up in Venice on Tuesday to restore a mural by the elusive street artist Banksy that had appeared on the side of a 17th century building in the lagoon city six years ago. "Migrant Child" shows a boy wearing a life jacket and holding a pink flare, representing the artist's support for migrant sea rescue charities. But being exposed to Venice's notorious humidity and painted on the canal-facing side of a crumbling palazzo, it was in danger of fading into oblivion. The building, unoccupied when Banksy worked on it, was bought last year by an Italian bank that is now funding its entire restoration, mural included. Banca Ifis is planning to turn the Palazzo San Pantalon into an exhibition space linked to the Venice Biennale art fair, it said in a statement. The three-story building is in the Dorsoduro neighbourhood, near Venice's main university. The well-known Zaha Hadid Architects studio is working on the renovation project. DJ Jean Danker's post-divorce dating life? Being asked out by ‘brave' men in their 20s
Jean Danker shared that she has been exclusively asked out by men in their 20s ever since her divorce. PHOTO: JEANDANKER/INSTAGRAM DJ Jean Danker's post-divorce dating life? Being asked out by 'brave' men in their 20s Class 95 presenter-DJ Jean Danker is single and ready to mingle - but is not quite prepared to date anyone seriously post-divorce. The 46-year-old was married to fellow local radio personality Glenn Ong, 54, for eight years. He is a DJ at SPH Radio's Kiss92. The former couple tied the knot in 2016, before announcing their split in December 2024. They did not have any children together. Danker posted a series of Instagram Stories on June 10, where she answered anonymous Ask Me Anything questions posed by some of her 77,700 followers. When queried about her thoughts on dating younger men, she replied she has been exclusively asked out by guys she labels as 'the brave young 20somethings', adding that they have been 'lovely'. In response to whether she is ready to get attached, the Mediacorp artiste mused: 'Let's just say it's gonna take someone really special for me to give up sleeping diagonal on my massive king sized bed - and it hasn't happened yet.' She also shared advice that while 'all relationships are complicated', she finds that 'being courageous is a daily decision' she makes. She added that women should not beat themselves up for having 'any kind of feelings' towards divorce, 'whether it's embarrassment or otherwise'. 'It's scariest just before you do it and even if you leap crying, and fly through the air screaming in fear, you're gonna land on solid ground, I promise you. Be brave.' In an interview with The Straits Times in April, Ong said about the divorce: 'As sad as I feel about what has happened, we're still amicable.' It was his third marriage. His former wives were Jamie Yeo and the late Kate Reyes, both former local radio DJs. 'I'm not looking to move on to another serious relationship because I feel I've never had time for myself. I've never not been in a relationship.' Join ST's Telegram channel and get the latest breaking news delivered to you.
