Retired govt employees left in the lurch
Every month GST income that is generated from the public is over Rs one and half lakh crore and crores is stocked with EPFO. Where is the money coming to pay exorbitant amounts to pay the abnormal salaries and perks to MPs and which are enhanced at periodical intervals? Loads of money and material is transported to the calamity affected nations and for freebies to lower income Indian citizens. These retirees are not being treated as human beings. Thousands of retirees are already dead, and the living ones are on ventilation waiting for their exit but the government shows no consideration for them.

"Don't Control Me": Jaya Bachchan Scolds Fellow MP, Sparks A 'Sindoor' Row
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party MP and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan sparked a row today after she questioned Operation Sindoor's name and asked why it was named so when the Pahalgam terror attack "destroyed the sindoor" of so many women. Speaking in Rajya Sabha during the debate on Operation Sindoor, Ms Bachchan started her speech by expressing her condolences to the families of the 26 innocents murdered in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley on April 22. Addressing the treasury benches, she said, "I would congratulate you on the writers you have hired. You give grand names. Why did you name it 'Sindoor'? Sindoor toh ujad gaya (sindoor was destroyed), the wives of those who were killed." Ms Bachchan was also riled when MPs from the ruling party interrupted her speech. "Either you speak or I will speak. When you speak, I don't interrupt. When a woman speaks, I never interrupt. So please mind your tongue," she said. On one occasion, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, who was seated next to Ms Bachchan, came under fire for trying to calm her down. "Priyanka, don't control me," said the veteran actor as Ms Chaturvedi responded with a laugh. The Samajwadi Party MP questioned the government on the intelligence failure that led to the Pahalgam terror attack. "You have destroyed the faith of the people. The families (of victims) will never forgive you." Ms Bachchan's remarks on Operation Sindoor's name have now drawn fire from the BJP. "Just see their mindset. Jaya Bachchan ji, the terrorists destroyed sindoor, but sindoor is not just for embellishment; it is also a symbol of strength and capability. The name Operation Sindoor was chosen to send a message: you wipe off sindoor, we will destroy you. This was achieved," BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, accusing opposition parties Congress and Samajwadi Party of lowering the morale of the armed forces with such remarks. Operation Sindoor, reports have said, was a name chosen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the killers in Pahalgam rounded up Hindu men and shot them at close range in front of their wives and children. Sindoor in Hindi means vermilion, which Hindu women put on their head as a symbol of marriage. The name of the operation captured the loss of these women, whose partners were brutally killed in front of their eyes.

EAM Jaishankar roasts Oppn over India's ‘new normal' policy
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday lashed out at the Opposition over feigning ignorance over the term 'India's new normal' and coined a new name 'Modi normal' to elucidate the new defining strategy of the country in responding to acts of terror and crushing terrorists as well as their masterminds, irrespective of their location. Joining the Operation Sindoor debate in Rajya Sabha, Jaishankar said that some members raised hue and cry over the term 'new normal' and hence he was explaining India's new security doctrine via 'Modi normal' and 'Congress normal'. He said that the 'Modi normal' has clearly laid out guidelines and principles on matters of national security that remain steadfast and non-negotiable. 'Terrorists will not be treated as proxies, cross-border terror will get an appropriate response, talks and terror won't go together, we won't give into nuclear blackmailing, and blood and water won't flow together,' he told the House, outlining the redefined national strategy under the Modi government. Notably, the 'new normal' policy came into being after the Modi government gave full operational freedom to the forces during Operation Sindoor and stated that any act of terror on Indian soil will now be seen as an attack on India's sovereignty and therefore will be responded to by the armed forces in the strongest possible manner. EAM Jaishankar further said that India's Operation Sindoor did a global service by destroying hubs of global terror in Pakistan. 'Bahalwapur and Muridke remain the biggest centres of nurturing terrorists and spreading terrorism in India and abroad. Our forces reduced it to dust; they did a global service and are being suitably applauded by all,' he said. Lambasting the 'sceptical' Opposition, he said that there are ample examples of Pakistani military establishments facing the fury of Indian forces, but there are some who continue to undermine our security forces for certain political motives. The Minister said that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a candid confession about Indian military strikes pulverising its military installations, but this fails to convince those who continue to remain sceptical of the Army's accomplishments. 'Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif admitted that General Munir called him, saying that Indian ballistic missiles hit their Noor Khan air base and missiles like Brahmos targeted their provinces like Rawalpindi,' he said and lamented that the political parties back home are decrying the great achievements of the Indian Armed Forces for scoring political points.
