Yves Bissouma axed by Tottenham for Super Cup over disciplinary issue
Frank will take charge of his first competitive match as Spurs head coach on Wednesday at Stadio Friuli in Udine and could lift a trophy if they can upset Champions League winners Paris St Germain.

Bissouma has been left at home after being late 'several times' this summer, but Frank has Dominic Solanke available and will aim to mark his Tottenham bow with further cup glory after predecessor Ange Postecoglou masterminded Europa League success in May.

'I think for the team, for me, for everybody involved at Tottenham Hotspur, it's a massive game,' Frank reflected.
'A great challenge and an even bigger opportunity. That's how my brain works, I see opportunities instead of pressure or whatever. So for me, massive opportunity and we will definitely embrace it.
'My players, our players, they just won a big trophy six or seven weeks ago, so they had a fantastic experience of doing that and they want to win more.

'It was a great feeling, everything I heard about it, fantastic experience, so the players will be ready.'
Even though PSG only returned to pre-season training last Wednesday following the Club World Cup, Spurs enter this fixture under-strength with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski long-term absentees and Destiny Udogie still sidelined.
It makes the omission of Bissouma all the more eye-catching and could spell the end of his time at the club given the Mali international, who started the Europa League final, is into the final 12 months of his contract.
Frank explained: 'Bissouma has not travelled with the team because of disciplinary reasons.

'He has been late several times and the latest time was one too many.
'With everything you need to give your players a lot of love but also have demands and there also need to be consequences and this time there was a consequence for that.
'I will follow up when I come home. I will park it now because there is a relatively important game for tomorrow.'
Summer recruits Joao Palhinha and Mohammed Kudus are expected to make their debuts against PSG but Frank will largely turn to the squad that ended Tottenham's 17-year trophy drought under Postecoglou.

Guglielmo Vicario was a key figure in their Europa League run and acknowledged how special it will be to play for a trophy in his home city of Udine.

'Personally, it will be an emotional day but as soon as we get close to kick-off emotions have to stay away and we have to be focused on what we have to deliver on the pitch,' Vicario promised. 'It will be an amazing game and we need to be ready to win.
'We have set the tone and we want to repeat and to do it again. We have tasted the feeling and this feeling is amazing so we want to do it again and we have the opportunity tomorrow with another European final.'
Tottenham will announce their new captain on Wednesday after Son Heung-min left to join Los Angeles.

Ben Davies, Spurs' longest-serving player after his 2015 arrival, added: 'We lost Sonny and he was a big part of the dressing room and obviously a huge player for us.
'We are definitely going to feel his loss but ultimately the senior guys in this team have to be here to support everyone.'

ATP players handed record £13.5m profit-sharing bonus
Men's tennis players will pocket a record $18.3m (£13.5m) in profit-sharing bonuses from the 2024 season as the ATP stepped up its efforts to forge a more sustainable and financially aligned future for the sport. The bonus amount, a 177 per cent increase on the previous season's payout, will be distributed to players based on performance at the nine ATP 1000 tournaments, which rank just below the four Grand Slams in prestige. "This is exactly what profit sharing was designed to do: ensure that players and tournaments share equally in the sport's financial upside," ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi said on Thursday. "The $18.3m is a huge milestone. For us, it's proof that strengthening the premium product and aligning interests creates value. "We're proud to be strengthening our partnership and building a stronger, more sustainable ATP Tour." The profit-sharing plan, introduced in 2022, splits profits generated at ATP Masters 1000 events - above onsite base prize money - equally between players and tournaments and is a cornerstone of the tour's OneVision strategic plan. Profit-sharing helped push ATP player compensation to a record $261m (£192.7m) for the 2024 season for a total of $378m (£279.2m) when combined with Grand Slam prize money. The men's elite body added that it was on track to deliver more compensation records, including $28.5m (£21m) in Challenger Tour prize money and a $3m (£2.2m) ATP 500 bonus pool. The expansion of most of the Masters events to 96-player draws had increased earning opportunities for players, widening the number of those able to make a sustainable living from the sport, the ATP added. It said there was a "wave of infrastructure investment" as Madrid, Rome, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris, among other venues, had upgraded facilities to enhance the experience for players and spectators.

Rangers welcome Alloa Athletic to Ibrox this weekend as they begin their Premier Sports Cup campaign with a last-16 clash at Ibrox on Saturday evening. Russell Martin's side have endured a torrid start to their domestic campaign, with 1-1 draws against both Motherwell and Dundee cementing their worst start to a league campaign since 1989. However, the Gers' attention will now turn to the cup as they look to progress to the quarter-final stage of a competition they have won only once in the last 14 seasons. Cyriel Dessers, Max Aarons, Thelo Aasgaard and Hamza Igamane are all doubts for the game. Alloa boss Andy Graham will be hoping to spring a surprise in Govan and plunge the home side into further dismay, though he will likely have to do it without a trio of first-team players. Scott Taggart, Daniel Church, and Andy Clarke are all expected to miss the game against Rangers. Billionaire owner of Willie Mullins' ‘very classy' new £300,000 horse confirmed and Cheltenham Festival target decided
THE billionaire owner of Willie Mullins' 'very classy' new £300,000 horse has been confirmed. And her Cheltenham Festival target has already been decided. 1 The latest Horse Racing Ireland update showed Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud as the owner of Poetisa. Mullins and right-hand man Harold Kirk saw off Nicky Henderson to land the Cheltenham winner at the Goffs sales in May. Formerly trained by Toby Bulgin, Poetisa won a mares' bumper at the home of jumps in April. Sent off 20-1 under former champion jockey Brian Hughes, she stayed on well up the hill after meeting trouble to win by a neck. Poetisa commanded a price tag of £42,000 as a three-year-old but her value soared after the Cheltenham victory. And Mullins clearly liked what he saw, with her pedigree suggesting big things lie in store in the future. Poetisa is from the same family as multiple Grade 1-winning superstar Macs Joy. The Jessica Harrington-trained hurdler won over half a million quid from 31 career races, which included nine victories. And O'Leary will be hoping for something similar from his newly-acquired mare. Gigginstown House were also listed as the new owners of French import Mino Des Mottes, who it is thought is also in training with Mullins. But it's Poetisa who Kirk has big hopes for. And he had already decided her target for the Festival when splashing the cash a few months ago. The bloodstock expert said: "She's a Cheltenham winner already and she'll only improve. "She was very classy when she won. She's a lovely mare and hopefully she'll go down the mares' route over hurdles as there's a big programme for these mares now." Poetisa can be backed at 10-1 for the Mares Novices' Hurdle, with Mullins' Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever the 3-1 favourite. . Remember to gamble responsibly
