Tate brothers charged with rape and trafficking in UK, pending extradition from Romania

Saudi Gazette28-05-2025

LONDON — British prosecutors confirmed on Wednesday that influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been criminally charged in the United Kingdom with multiple offenses, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed that charges were approved in January 2024, but this is the first official confirmation of the case against the Tates in Britain.
Arrest warrants, previously reported by media outlets, were issued by Bedfordshire Police in connection with alleged offenses that occurred between 2012 and 2015.
Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges involving three women, while Tristan Tate, 36, is charged with 11 offenses relating to one woman.
The CPS has stated that both brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship and relocated to Romania in 2016, are subject to an extradition order.
Romania has agreed to hand them over to UK authorities once their ongoing legal proceedings there are concluded. The Tates, both former professional kickboxers, gained widespread notoriety for their social media influence—particularly Andrew, who has built a large following among young men by promoting a lifestyle often criticized for its misogynistic undertones. In Romania, the brothers were arrested in late 2022 and indicted last year on separate charges of rape, human trafficking, and leading a criminal organization that allegedly exploited women. They deny all allegations in both countries.Their current location remains uncertain, although they were recently photographed outside a police station in Voluntari, Romania, where they are required to check in regularly under judicial supervision. — Agencies

Ex Biden Official Accuses Israel of Committing ‘War Crimes' in Gaza

Former US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that he believes Israel has committed 'war crimes' in Gaza, according to Sky News. Despite denying this fact during press conferences held under the Biden administration, Miller confessed that Israel undoubtedly committed crimes during its war in Gaza since October 2023. 'It is without a doubt true that Israel has committed war crimes,' he told British media Sky News. He also noted that he could not have unveiled this opinion while he served as the US State Department spokesperson. 'While you're at the podium you're not expressing your personal opinion, you're expressing the conclusions of the United States government,' he said. Although many pioneering genocide scholars in the world state that Israel's actions in Gaza constitute a genocide, Miller rejected to call it a genocide. Miller said it was an 'open question' whether Israel 'has pursued a policy to deliberately committing war crimes or is acting reckless in a way that aids and abets war crimes.' However, he said that it was 'almost certainly' that individual Israeli military members committed war crimes. Andrew Tate, brother to return to UK to face criminal charges over rape, trafficking

Internet personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan will return to Britain to face criminal charges once separate legal proceedings in Romania have been concluded, a lawyer for the siblings said. Britain's Crown Prosecution Service confirmed earlier this week that it had previously authorized charges against the brothers including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. The Tates are facing a separate criminal investigation in Romania over trafficking allegations, and the courts there have already approved their extradition to the UK. The brothers have denied all the allegations. 'Once those proceedings are concluded in their entirety then The Tates will return to face UK allegations,' Holborn Adams, the law firm representing the brothers, said in a statement on Thursday. Andrew Tate, a self-described misogynist who has gained millions of fans by promoting an ultra-masculine lifestyle, separately faces a civil lawsuit in Britain, which has been brought by four women and is due to go to trial in 2027.
