The Frenchman suffered a distal hamstring injury in the first leg of the clash against Inter, just days after he scored an extra-time winner in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
And ahead of his sides do-or-die semi-final match in Italy, Kounde caught a commercial flight from Barcelona to Milan alongside supporters to make sure he was present to watch on.
Kounde attempted to keep his identity hidden by wearing a hood and sunglasses.

He was greeted by cheers as he retrieved his bag from the overhead storage, to which he eventually responded with a wide smile and tapping his hand to his chest.
In the absence of the 26-year-old, Flick selected former Manchester City defender Eric Garcia to play there.
Before his injury, Kounde had missed just one game for Barca this season - when Flick left him out for the win over Mallorca before the Copa del Rey final.

Real Madrid set to HIJACK Arsenal's Martin Zubimendi transfer with star ‘attracted' to idea of joining La Liga giants
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) REAL MADRID are reportedly trying to hijack Arsenal's deal to sign Martin Zubimendi in a move that could scupper the Gunners' summer plans. Arsenal were thought to be leading the race for Zubimendi's signature with reports claiming that a deal was on the brink of completion. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 Real Madrid could hijack Arsenal's move for Martin Zubimendi Credit: Getty Mikel Arteta is keen to bring Zubimendi to the Emirates stadium with the hopes of strengthening his midfield options and replacing Jorginho - who has left to join Flamengo. Arsenal are thought to have agreed to pay Zubimendi's £51m release clause to pry him away from Real Sociedad. However, according to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid are planning a "final attack" to try and sign him instead, with new boss Xabi Alonso keen on a new central midfielder. It's claimed that Zubimendi is "attracted" to the idea of playing for Madrid, while he is also said to prefer staying in Spain next year. READ MORE IN FOOTBALL STAR'S BATTLE Michail Antonio shares footage of himself learning to walk again after crash It had seemed all-but-confirmed that he would be heading to Arsenal, but the news of Madrid's last ditch attempt could spell trouble for the North London club. Liverpool looked set to sign Zubimendi themselves last summer, but after long talks and drawn out negotiations he ultimately snubbed the Reds to stay with Sociedad. Zubimendi is reportedly keen on the idea of playing under Alonso, who he worked with at Real Sociedad B. Arsenal need reinforcements in midfield with Jorginho's confirmed exit and Thomas Partey yet to sign a contract extension with the club and his current deal expiring this month. 3 Join SUN CLUB for the Arsenal Files every Friday plus in-depth coverage and exclusives from The Emirates Zubimendi didn't rule out a move elsewhere when asked about his future while on international duty with Spain. He said: "Of course there are options, but it's true that it looks like it's going to be a different, long summer, and I don't know how it's going to end. David Raya reveals Arsenal career changed overnight following two-hour meeting "Right now, thinking about it isn't my priority. I'm here with the national team, which is already quite demanding, and if I have to say something, then I will." Asked about playing under Alonso and the influence he has had on him, Zubimendi replied: "I've always said that he was my idol and that for me it was a stroke of luck that he was able to coach me in the reserve team in a very important year. "[But] I don't like to talk about those hypotheses, I like to talk about the present. "I think it would be disrespectful to answer a question [about a Madrid move] while I'm in the national team, and facing such an important competition." Zubimendi scored two goals and registered one assist in 36 La Liga appearances for Sociedad this season. Meanwhile Arsenal look set to complete the £5m signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, with the goalkeeper arriving to provide backup for David Raya. A striker also remains a top priority for Arteta and his team, with RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres admired by the Gunners hierarchy.

21 superstars who worship at the 'Cathedral' of football – Celtic atmosphere ranked and rated by Messi and VIPs
The Hoops' home is regarded by a gallery of the finest players of this generation as the best in the world Tales of the legendary atmosphere at Celtic Park on a Champions League night have been reverberated around the world, with none other than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi among the mega names who have wowed at the old ground down the years. And the latest gushing appraisal has come from former Lyon and France hero Gregory Coupet, who has described the sheer crescendo of noise upon walking out at Parkhead as a 'cathedral effect'. The seven-time Ligue 1 winner was between the posts when Lyon made the trip to Glasgow for a Champions League group stage tie in September 2003. The stopper kept out a penalty from Alan Thompson but was beaten by goals from Liam Miller and Chris Sutton in either half as Martin O'Neill's Celtic ran out 2-0 winners. Coupet played in many of the world's top stadiums during his 27-year-long playing career, winning 34 caps for France, including three outings at Euro 2008. But the Frenchman is in no doubt that his visit to Celtic Park that night was the most magical experience he ever had on a football pitch. He recently told L'Equipe: "I put Celtic above all because there is a cathedral effect, magnificent chants, no animosity. It's magical." The former stopper has joined a long list of illustrious names who have marvelled about the atmosphere in the East End and Record Sport has delved into the archives to recall the ultimate recognition for one of European football's most iconic grounds. Celtic's iconic atmosphere in quotes Xavi "The atmosphere generated by the fans in Celtic's stadium for our visit was the most impressive I've ever witnessed. The grounds of Liverpool and Manchester United are good and the hostile feeling of playing against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu is also excellent, but the atmosphere against Celtic was the best." 'When you step out at Celtic Park, the atmosphere they create for their team is incredible. It doesn't matter how many big games you have played in. "Walking out into that atmosphere is always intense. I don't think I have seen anything like the Celtic fans in all the stadiums I have played." Paolo Maldini "Every professional footballer should seek to play at least one game at Celtic Park. I have never felt anything like it." Lionel Messi "I've been fortunate to play in some great stadiums in Europe with Barcelona but none compare to Celtic. The atmosphere their fans create make it a very special European night of football." Nemanja Vidic 'Every game I have played in Turkey stands out for passion created by the fans – but the best has been at Celtic Park." Oliver Kahn "The atmosphere here tonight was unbelievable and it's an honour to play in such an arena." Cesc Fabregas 'Celtic has great commitment and those supporters behind them gives them a chance against anyone. We knew what we were coming into and what we would be up against. For me it is always special to play in that fantastic stadium and to experience that atmosphere. We were privileged to be there.' Gianluigi Buffon "Playing in the Champions League allows you to experience the most exciting venues in Europe. And when you are young, you take it for granted because many other experiences lie in front of you. But the older you become, you understand that there are things that you may not experience again." Steven Gerrard "The incredible thing was the people, for an opposition player it is quite incredible, I have not seen a better atmosphere from the grounds I have visited." Owen Hargreaves "When we played at Celtic Park for Bayern in the Champions League it was unbelievable and I think all our players said the same thing afterwards. The atmosphere was just totally unique. I've played in lots of big games and stadiums but I've never witnessed fans making that much noise in 90 minutes." Santiago Canizares "The Celtic fans are amazing in the way they get behind their team." Gerard Pique "The atmosphere at Celtic Park is the best in Europe." Karl-Heinz Ruminegge "That was a football experience of pure culture. Throughout the night we felt goosebumps. It was an atmosphere that felt a bit like the old days. It was a terrific night." "I was being asked several times which (away) stadium is my favourite. And there is a new number one, I can tell you, Celtic Park. It has been just crazy! We came out, and the atmosphere was good. The Champions League anthem started, and I thought the stadium was going to collapse. Unbelievable, I had never experienced anything like that." Frank De Boer "It's up there with Madrid and Camp Nou. They are an example how to run a club." Zlatan Ibrahimovic 'Then when I got out on the pitch and the match began, I tried to communicate with my team but I heard nothing. The audience had such a mood. I did not hear what my teammates said if they called me because it was such a beautiful and awesome atmosphere. It's probably the best I have seen on the pitch.' Cristiano Ronaldo "The Celtic fans are incredible. It is always great to play there." Andres Iniesta "The Celtic fans are very special and the club and players can be very proud of them. They are the best I have ever heard." Wayne Rooney 'It is inspiring and intimidating. It's a stadium with a particular atmosphere you want to experience as a player.' Eidur Gudjohnson "When I signed for Bolton they presented me to the crowd before the Jimmy Phillips testimonial. The Celtic fans made an impression on me because there were more of them than Bolton supporters at that game. Celtic are popular for testimonials because everyone knows they will fill the stadium - and I've always had great admiration of them. Their fans have a reputation as one of the best and that's on merit because of the great atmosphere they create." Samuel Eto'o "This place makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, there is nowhere like it in football, and I can see how the people love to play here and speak so highly of it."

Furious Barcelona star 'ready to go to war' as Arsenal target nears transfer
Barcelona may have a difficult task in persuading Marc-Andre ter Stegen to depart the club this summer even with the signing of Espanyol star Joan Garcia expected soon Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is prepared to go to war with his club - in order to remain at the Nou Camp. The Germany international and Barca captain is said to be outraged over attempts to force him out of the club. Ter Stegen is still under contract until 2028 but is refusing to be pushed out of the Catalan side despite an apparent insistence from club chiefs. The 33-year-old missed much of last season through injury, making just nine appearances, and the Blaugrana are focusing their efforts on signing another shotstopper. Joan Garcia, who has been linked to Arsenal and Manchester United, is top of their list and nearing a move. Ter Stegen was unable to claim his spot upon his return in 2024/25, from Wojciech Szczesny, as Hansi Flick's first choice. Now it is claimed Barcelona president Joan Laporta has told members of the board that Ter Stegen must be sold with Garcia's arrival. It has even been touted that the La Liga champions have offered to terminate the ex-Borussia Monchengladbach star's contract if they pay him a year's salary. Spanish outlet Sport claim that Ter Stegen has been 'deeply hurt' and believes that there has been 'direct attack' on his 'professional character' in order to force him out of the club. The Germany international is reported to accuse figures of purposefully leaking information to damage his reputation. Sporting director Deco will be tasked with explaining Barcelona's stance to Ter Stegen and his camp in the search for an amicable resolution. But, fully recovered after last season, the goalkeeper is keen to fight for a starting spot if Flick allows it. The Spanish giants hold on to hope that Ter Stegen's World Cup aspirations will see him unwilling to risk not playing next term however. The veteran has been left aghast and outraged at being left out in the cold after shortening his recovery from injury as first-choice goalkeeper and captain. With Garcia's arrival yet to be confirmed and Szczesny yet to commit to a two-year deal from Barcelona, Ter Stegen was quick to point out that he is currently one of just two goalkeepers set to be at Barca next season. "No one has told me about this, so I don't know the situation," Ter Stegen said when asked about his future. 'I'm not worried," he added. "I know that I will be at Barcelona next year. "If I remember correctly, and if no news has happened in the last few hours, we only have two goalkeepers for next season, Inaki [Pena] and me."
