Scotland ranks three times in the UK's top ten walks as TikTok's 'hot girl walk' trend booms
Scotland has claimed three spots in a new top ten list of the UK's most popular walks, as the viral TikTok trend known as the 'hot girl walk' continues to sweep the nation just in time for summer.
Searches for 'hot girl walk' have skyrocketed by 529 percent in the past month alone, as more and more people look to embrace the feel-good trend now the sun is out and the days are longer.

Despite the name, the trend isn't just for girls, it encourages anyone to head out for a four-mile stroll, while listening to motivational podcasts or repeating positive affirmations.

Car leasing experts at Nationwide Vehicle Contracts have analysed trending TikTok searches to reveal the most in-demand walks for summer 2025, and three Scottish trails have made the cut, proving that the country's scenic walking spots are just as popular online as they are in real life.
Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh was the highest ranked Scottish entry, coming in at number four overall. With its sweeping 360-degree views over the city, it's no surprise the extinct volcano is a magnet for both tourists and locals. TikTok searches for Arthur's Seat have hit 106,000 in the UK, with users sharing everything from sunrise selfies to peaceful sunset strolls.
Its central location and ample parking near Holyrood Palace and Meadowbank make it an easy option for a spontaneous day trip into the capital.
Meanwhile, the Glenfinnan Viaduct Trail in the Highlands secured tenth place with 38,700 TikTok searches. Best known for its appearance in the Harry Potter films, the iconic viaduct draws visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of the Jacobite steam train as it crosses the bridge.
The trail also extends beyond the photo spot, offering a rewarding countryside hike through a picturesque Highland valley.

Rounding out Scotland's top entries was Ben A'an in the Trossachs, which remains a favourite for those after a shorter hike with spectacular views.
Its compact climb offers a powerful sense of achievement with stunning panoramic scenery at the summit, ideal for reflection and that all-important affirmation time.
Urban walks near major cities also ranked highly, with Richmond Park in London topping the overall list thanks to its 192,000 TikTok searches.

The leafy seven-mile loop is popular with Londoners looking to escape the bustle without leaving the city limits, and there are plenty of shorter three to four-mile routes on offer too. The park is well-equipped with cafes, toilet facilities and parking across several locations.

Further south, countryside gems like Malham Cove in Yorkshire, Pen y Fan in Wales, and Box Hill in Surrey also made the top ten, blending hiking challenge with striking natural beauty.

As the summer solstice approaches on 21 June, the longest day of the year, the timing couldn't be better to head outdoors. Whether it's the pull of a Harry Potter view or simply a moment of quiet positivity, the hot girl walk offers something deeper than just a trending hashtag.
'A hot girl walk is more than just a walk,' researchers noted. 'Walking provides many physical benefits, and the act of positive affirmations encourages a mental well-being boost.'
All ten walks listed in the ranking offer accessible parking, making them ideal for a day trip by car.

NYC influencer is roasted for her aquatic-inspired purse... would YOU wear it?

A popular NYC influencer has divided the internet after sharing her aquatic-inspired purse. Halley Kate McGookin, who has 1.5million followers on TikTok, took to her page on June 5 to showcase her new purchase - a massive fish-shaped handbag. McGookin, who describes herself as ' funnier on TikTok, prettier on Insta,' called the $395 purse a 'beach bag,' but quickly clarified it could really work 'whenever' because it 'fits a lot.' The bag is made by STAUD, a clothing brand founded by American fashion designer Sarah Staudinger. She paired the unique bag with a $550 STAUD black silk dress with colorful sardines all over it and a lace trim along the chest. 'This for like a little Hamptons summer moment.... literally no notes,' she said, adding that she wouldn't be wearing the dress and bag together 'because that might be a little bit much.' Despite the influencer's clear enthusiasm about her new items, online users were not at all impressed with the fish-themed tote as one said it resembled 'a papier mache project.' 'Lmao those look like they came from temu,' another wrote on Reddit. 'People will buy anything if it's designer.' 'Oh the dress is great but please donate the bag,' wrote someone else. 'Money can't buy taste, as they say,' another chimed in. A commenter simply asked: 'WHAT is this?!?!?!?' seemingly perplexed by her accessory choice. While many people appeared to dislike the bag, some shared they were in favor of it. 'I'm a sucker for an animal shaped bag tbh lol,' a user said. 'Okay the fish bag is the moment,' said another. Someone else wrote: 'Obsessed looks so good.' 'Tbh if I had the money I'd be buying all of these bags too they're fun,' another said. The bag also comes in a smaller size for $295, according to the website. McGookin, who grew up in Virginia, is no stranger to criticism over her looks as she was recently slammed for a 'skid mark' manicure design she chose to go with in March. She was brutally mocked online after she showed off her manicure, calling it 'The best nails I've ever done.' Viewers were quick to point out the design looked more like 'blood stains' and 'skid marks' than a cute puppy - while many also mistook it for a brutal injury. In the clip, Halley said: 'Actually freaking out today. I took my busted nails from this to this. I never do designs on my nails, but I am so obsessed.' She continued, explaining she had visited Gilded Ritual salon for a 'Russian manicure' with hard gel, praising how the technique leaves 'cuticles non-existent.' 'The nail tech was so awesome and helped me pick out the right color to make sure we got Rusty all perfect on my nails. Obsessed with Russian manicures because the attention to detail like your cuticles are non existent after getting one. 'Just did a really simple nude color as my base and then I broke two of my nails so she added an extension so fast and she did the design so fast as well. She painted on the little dog,' she said. Viewers quickly mocked her over the design, as one said: 'The left nail looks like a skid mark.'

Scottish council suggested Oasis fans are 'drunk and fat'

The remarks were revealed in safety briefings drawn up ahead of the band's three sellout shows at Murrayfield in August. In the documents, concerns were raised that the sold-out Oasis Live '25 Tour would clash with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. One note from the documents, which were released following a freedom of information request by the Scottish Sun, shows council officials warning that 'middle-aged men take up more room, consider this when working out occupancy'. READ MORE: Glasgow Oasis fans fall victim to 'ticketing scams' Another details 'concern about crowds of Oasis on weekends, as they are already rowdy and the tone of the band'. It adds: 'Concerned about the safety of the Fringe and its performers. Many performers are considering not attending for that weekend.' One document, which notes 'DF Concerts' in the heading, suggests there will be 'medium to high intoxication' at the concert, and to expect a 'substantial amount of older fans', but adds there have been 'minimal arrests' at recent Gallagher events. Scottish council suggested Oasis fans are 'drunk and fat' (Image: PA) Responding on social media, Gallagher said: 'To the Edinburgh council, I've heard what you said about Oasis fans and quite frankly your attitude f****** stinks. I'd leave town that day if I were any of you lot.' In a second post, he added: 'I'd love to see a picture of all the people on the Edinburgh Council, bet there's some real stunning individuals.' The meetings appear to involve a variety of groups, including promoters DF Concerts, Police Scotland, ScotRail, the Scottish Ambulance Service, and security firm G4S. READ MORE: Liam and Noel Gallagher 'pictured' on M8 amid Oasis 'reunion' David Walker, of the Oasis Collectors Group, criticised the comments made in the safety briefings. He told the Scottish Sun: 'To call fans drunk, middle-aged, and fat is a nasty, sneering stereotype, it's a jaundiced view.' Around 210,000 people are expected to attend the three Edinburgh shows amid the group's highly anticipated reunion tour. Culture and communities convener, councillor Margaret Graham, said: 'We're very proud to host the biggest and best events in Edinburgh throughout the year, which bring in hundreds of millions of pounds to the local economy and provide unparalleled entertainment for our residents and visitors. 'As with any major event which takes place in the city, we prepare extensively alongside our partners to ensure the safety and best possible experience of everyone involved – and Oasis is no different. 'No two events are the same in terms of requirements or planning, and our multi-agency approach reflects this appropriately. 'We're also working closely with residents in the local area to make sure these concerts pass off as smoothly as possible. 'Over the past few years, we've hosted many similar events and managed to strike the right balance between communicating well with residents and fulfilling the needs of major events, and I have no doubt we can do so once again. 'We always look to learn lessons from previous years to update and improve on our plans. 'We're all looking forward to seeing Oasis take to the stage this August and I'm sure that they'll 'live forever' as some of the most memorable concerts ever performed at Murrayfield.'
