Ex Hibs star Jake Doyle-Hayes has started legal proceedings against his former club over an injury sustained following a tackle by then manager Lee Johnson.
The Irishman is now playing for Sligo Rovers but is suing the Edinburgh club with lawyers acting on the his behalf accusing Johnson of making 'incompetent and incoherent decisions".

Doyle-Hayes suffered an ankle injury in 2022 in a clash on the Hibs training ground with former boss Johnson, leaving him requiring surgery.

And it's understood the player, who left Hibs by mutual consent in January 2025, has taken legal action.
The case at the Court of Session was called on Wednesday, with Doyle-Hayes represented by Thompsons Scotland LLP.
The legal firm say the Irish footballer's career has been 'greatly restricted' by the injuries suffered.

Joel Shaw, partner with Thompsons Solicitors: 'Our client, Jake Doyle-Hayes suffered horrific injuries from a tackle made by the then manager of Hibernian Football Club, Lee Johnson.
'The impact of this has greatly restricted his career."

Scottish Premiership side left stunned as European club announce transfer of star BEFORE paperwork is completed

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SERIE A side Lecce have stunned Kilmarnock by parading Corrie Ndaba with a club scarf as the Rugby Park outfit still waited for official deal confirmation. The Irish defender travelled to Italy to complete the formalities of a six-figure transfer after a bid had been accepted. On X the club posted: "The footballer Corrie Ndaba arrived in Bressanone in the late afternoon, where he began undergoing medical examinations that will be completed on Monday." But Killie boss Stuart Kettlewell had also told reporters post-match there was "nothing" to report on Ndaba. Killie feel the Italians have jumped the gun believing Ndaba's medical and paperwork have still to be fully completed. But the expectation is he will become a Lecce player within 24-hours. The Republic of Ireland youth international will become the latest player to make the move from Scottish football to Italy. He'll follow in the footsteps of the likes of Bologna's Lewis Ferguson, as well as Josh Doig and Lewis Henderson. Scotland national team stars Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour had outstanding seasons for Napoli, helping them to lift the Scudetto. McTominay was even named Serie A's player of the year. Ndaba came through the Ipswich youth ranks but never played a competitive league match for the Tractor Boys. Stuart Kettlewell reveals if he regrets quitting Motherwell in exclusive first interview He instead had several loans spells, including one at Killie's local rivals, Ayr United. According to Sky Italy, Ndaba will sign a three-year deal with the option of extending for a further two. Ndaba made 38 appearances in all competitions for Killie last season as a key member of the squad under Derek McInnes. Newcastle draw up four-man shortlist to replace Alexander Isak as Liverpool sent message

Alexander Isak has informed the Newcastle hierarchy that he wants to leave and Eddie Howe's side have wasted no time by identifying four strikers who could replace him Newcastle have drawn up a shortlist of four strikers in case they're forced to sell Alexander Isak. The Magpies are braced for offers after it emerged on Thursday that Isak, 25, wants to leave St James' Park. ‌ His decision follows an enquiry from Liverpool, who signalled that they'd be willing to pay a British-record £120million for the Swede. Newcastle responded by insisting that Isak isn't for sale and Liverpool quickly turned to Hugo Ekitike, who the Magpies also wanted to sign. ‌ Despite wrapping up an eye-watering £79m deal with Eintracht Frankfurt for Ekitike, Liverpool remain interested in Isak. Although manager Eddie Howe remains 'confident' that his star won't depart, Newcastle are making contingency plans which could have a chain reaction in the Premier League. ‌ A report from the Mail has revealed the four strikers who Newcastle are doing their homework on. Those four are named as Nicolas Jackson, Ollie Watkins, Yoane Wissa and Benjamin Sesko. Howe's side have already made a £25m bid for Wissa - which was immediately rejected by Brentford - while Watkins and Jackson, meanwhile, are on Manchester United's shortlist as they also target a striker. Benjamin Sesko was in talks to join Arsenal before the Gunners ultimately decided on Viktor Gyokeres, who's £63.7m arrival was confirmed on Saturday. Wissa scored 19 times in the league last season for Brentford and with 12 months left on his contract, the 28-year-old is pushing to leave. Watkins is also Premier League-proven, bagging 75 goals and registering 34 assists in 184 top-flight matches for Aston Villa. Jackson, meanwhile, has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea after they paid £30m for Liam Delap and spent £60m on Joao Pedro. On the other hand, Sesko is a prized asset for RB Leipzig, who are expected to demand around £70m. Who should Newcastle sign if Alexander Isak leaves? Let us know your pick in the comments section. ‌ Howe was asked multiple questions about Isak's future at a press conference in Singapore on Saturday. Asked if the Liverpool target would stay, Howe replied: "I said after the Celtic game I certainly hope he stays and I said I was confident he would stay. "I don't see anything that will change that opinion of mine at the moment - but it's football and who knows what the future may bring? We are in a very strong position financially. "We are determined to be successful, be ambitious. We have got a great season ahead of us and we need to add to the squad and continue to improve. The journey will continue in an upward trajectory and that's what we all want." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. 'I still wasn't comfortable,' declared Harrington, who is bidding to make it back-to-back over-50s' major wins after landing last month's US Senior Open. 'But I don't think I rode my luck as much today. I wasn't out of position but I certainly didn't play much better than yesterday. Maybe a little bit more cautious today.' Harrington would join Bob Charles, Gary Player, Tom Watson and Darren Clarke in the record books if he can complete the double. 'The goal is to try and keep making the birdies,' said the 2007 and 2008 Open champion. 'There will be a few mistakes, but, hopefully, I'll make enough birdies to counteract that.'
