'Show a little respect': David Beckham not amused by Minnesota's social media taunts

Yahoo12-05-2025

Minnesota United got under the skin of David Beckham this past weekend.
Beckham's Inter Miami club, of which he is a co-owner, was run out of Allianz Field in a 4-1 thumping at the weekend. The Loons' social media feeds followed up the resounding win with a couple jabs at the Miami club, which Beckham did not appreciate.
First, in an Instagram post that showed the updated Supporters Shield standings with the Loons leading Miami by a point after the win, Minnesota United called its beaten opponents a "Pink Phony Club" — a play on Miami's pink jerseys and the Chappell Roan song "Pink Pony Club."

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star responded to the post saying, "Show a little respect [MNUFC] be elegant in triumph."
Second, Minnesota posted a picture of a large banner fans in the Wonderwall supporters section raised prior to the game that read displayed, "History over Hype. Culture over Cash," with the words 'hype' and 'cash' in Miami's pink.
"Respect over everything," Beckham replied, incorporating a pink heart emoji in his response.
The loss by Miami was just their second of the season in league play but their fourth in their last five matches across all competitions.
Minnesota got goals from Bongi Hlongwane, Anthony Markanich and Robin Lod, as well as an own goal by Marcelo Weigandt in the 4-1 win. Messi was Miami's lone scorer in the match.
The win keeps the Loons in second place in the Western Conference with 22 points, just five points back of the first-place Vancouver Whitecaps.
The Loons are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Texas to take on the Houston Dynamo. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Surprise Video Shows Prince Harry and His Kids at Disneyland—But One Princess Lilibet Moment Made Me Do a Double Take

We don't often get an unfiltered glimpse of Prince Harry these days—but this week, Meghan Markle shared an Instagram reel that gave us something close: a two-day Disneyland trip for daughter Lilibet's fourth birthday, complete with princess meet-and-greets, rides, cake and a surprisingly normal snapshot of family life. The video is cheerful and tightly edited, set to Peggy Lee's 'It's a Good Day.' We see Harry laughing on Space Mountain, grinning through Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and trailing the kids around Cars Land in a backwards cap. Faces are covered with heart emojis, but there's enough to piece together who's who. Then comes the moment that made me do a double-take. Captured by Meghan Markle via Instagram Mid-reel, Meghan leads the kids into a Frozen-themed meet-and-greet. In a later shot, Lilibet—red hair, blue cap, floral dress—is seen holding hands with Elsa. Meghan's in mouse ears. Harry's filming. And suddenly, you're watching a real princess meet a fake one. Fans called it 'a full-circle fairytale,' but really, it's just a four-year-old's birthday party—with slightly more security. To that end, the real magic may not have been at Disneyland at all. In a quieter moment from the same week, Meghan posted a snapshot of Harry and Lilibet walking barefoot through a palm-lined path—her hand steady in his. 'Daddy's little girl and favorite adventurer,' she wrote. Because at the end of the day, Meghan may be the princess, but Harry is the ultimate girl dad. Chris Pratt shows off drastic transformation for 'The Terminal List' season 2

Chris Pratt gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at his dramatic transformation for "The Terminal List" season two, sharing a video from set on Friday. The actor appeared nearly unrecognizable with long hair, a full beard and a thick mustache, all part of a detailed prosthetic look for his character. "Isn't this hair and makeup incredible?" Pratt said in the video posted to Instagram. "My team does such an awesome job." Pratt, who plays Navy SEAL James Reece in the Amazon Prime Video series, explained the facial hair is fake, but realistic enough to cause issues during lunch breaks. "The crazy thing about wearing a fake mustache or a fake beard is when you eat, you get hair in your mouth," he said, joking about not knowing where the hair came from. "No. Anyways. I don't care. I'm hungry," he added before eating. Season two of "The Terminal List" is based on "True Believer," the second novel in Jack Carr's book series. The action drama follows a Navy SEAL navigating trauma and conspiracy after a mission goes wrong. Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch and Riley Keough return as part of the ensemble cast. Pratt's on-set update came days after he paid tribute to "Parks and Recreation" co-star Jonathan Joss, who was shot and killed on June 1. "Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude," Pratt wrote in a post shared to Instagram Stories.
