Content: British drivers have dominated the sprint races so far this season, with two previous edition being won by Lewis Hamilton (China) and Lando Norris (Miami), but the chances of that run being extended this morning are not high. Norris will start third on the grid, behind teammate Oscar Piastri, who is on pole, and Max Verstappen. Norris has a very slim chance of pulling level with Piastri at the top of the drivers' standings qualifying should he overcome the odds, win the sprint and see Piatri fail to score. In all likelihood, Piastri will start this afternoon's qualifying with a small increase in his lead there.
Hamilton is all the way down in 18th after an error in sprint qualifying yesterday saw him fail to make it out of the first session. Oliver Bearman, who qualified in seventh for Haas, has a better chance of extending the British run of sprint winners this season than the Ferrari driver.
The sprint race has had little correlation with either qualifying or the Grand Prix winner this season, so trying to read too much into it is misguided but hopefully it's a nice little amuse-bouche to the action to come. What was clear from yesterday's qualifying is that the McLaren are quickest on the corners, with Piastri and Norris ahead of Verstappen in the bendy sector two, so if the Briton can find a bit more speed in the straighter sections he has every chance of bettering the Red Bull.
That said, it could well be that we have a 15-laps of smoke and mirrors. We'll find out soon.

Ralph Beckett's Camelot colt is better judged on his blistering Sandown win that kicked off this season. He shapes like this trip will be ideal and has more to come off a fair mark. The yard has another chance with Cape Breton who won nicely from the front at Salisbury. This is tougher but there's more to come. Sudu deserves this hike in grade after winning by seven lengths at Epsom earlier this month. He's been hiked 11lb but has lots of talent. Omni Man was a solid fifth at Royal Ascot on a tough handicap debut. He likes this trip and Ryan Moore rides for Joseph O'Brien. They have every chance. Kurakka didn't enjoy dropping to 1m2f at Newmarket last time after a good Haydock win over this trip. 1.55 PICK up the Tab with Ralph Beckett's improver in the Oak Tree Stakes. She's been placed here and in this grade but was pulled up on firm at Royal Ascot and may prefer a mile. FORMAL 3 FORMAL wary. Epsom Listed winner in June but well held since at York. Yet to truly convince at this level but has potential if back on song. SAQQARA SANDS 3 SHIFTING Sands. Carlisle Listed win last time after good runs at Epsom and Newbury. Respected but likes soft. SILVER GHOST 2 GHOST her. Two good 7f handicap wins in spring and shaped okay in big Royal Ascot field. Likes this track, but others stronger on form. TABITI 5 BITI has bite. Lightly raced filly who took a step forward when third in Sandringham at Royal Ascot. She travels well and finishes strongly. Big potential improver with drop to 7f fine. 2.30 LADY IMAN looks much the best filly in this race and hopefully top Irish trainer Ger Lyons can land his first winner on British soil since way back in 2019. Ameeq got clattered by a rival jockey's whip when finishing strongly behind superstar Charles Darwin in the Norfolk Stakes last time. That was a smart performance he relishes this trip. A repeat of that would take him close. Sands Of Spain showed lots of zip when third in the Super Sprint at Newbury and still looked green so there should be more to come. Argentine Tango is proven at Listed level over 6f and could nick a place if the pace isn't too hot. 3.05 FIELD OF GOLD looks on a different level to his elders and can follow in his sire Kingman's hoofprints by winning the Sussex Stakes. We all know he should have won the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket before he demolished his rivals in the Irish version before a bloodless success in the St James's Palace at Royal Ascot last time. There are no trip or ground worries and, while he hasn't tackled a tricky track like this before, there's no reason why he won't handle it. There are only two places thanks to the small field but I still fancy Docklands to make the frame. He survived his rider dropping the whip to take the Queen Anne ahead of Rosallion last time and there won't be a lot between them again. Rosallion already has a couple of Group 1s on his CV but it was a bit surprising that Docklands was able to hold off his challenge at Royal Ascot. Aidan O'Brien sends over his French 2,000 Guineas winner Henri Matisse who was a solid second to Field Of Gold in the St James's Palace without ever looking likely to win. He gets the three-year-old weight allowance off the older horses but needs a big step up to figure. Aussie raider Carl Spackler was a fair sixth in the Queen Anne and it will be a surprise if he turns that form around. 3.45 BINTJEDDAH finished like a train when second over a mile at Newmarket last time and this longer trip should be ideal. The handicapper has been fair with a 2lb rise and there's more to come for William Haggas. Quebella looks a threat having run well in a Listed contest here in June before going close in a decent handicap at Southwell. Her mark of 87 looks lenient and she's capable of figuring in this company. Model Yuko makes her handicap debut on the back of a bloodless maiden win at Wolverhampton. She looks all about stamina and should improve for this longer trip. Ashariba was just over a length off the pace at Newcastle latest and has solid turn form too. She's a contender in an open race along with Music Piece who travelled well over 1m4f at Ascot last time before his stamina gave way. Got an electric car? Buyers can now search for homes with an EV charger - and where drivers can plug in locally
Electric car drivers can now find properties online that make charging headache-free, thanks to new features introduced by property search giant Zoopla. Zoopla has brought in new search criteria where buyers and renters can filter homes to include only those with home charging, and find the nearest on-street chargers to properties. British car maker Vauxhall and the property portal have teamed up to help drivers find the perfect home, after Vauxhall research found 40 per cent of UK motorists said proximity to EV charging will be an influential factor when they next move house. EV ownership is continuing to rise in Britain with 1.55 million cars on our roads now fully electric, according to the latest data from EV charging point app ZapMap. And yet Zoopla's analysis of all listings on its site in 2025 found that just 1.6 per cent explicitly mentioned EV charging. That is despite the latest figures from The Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders showing that one-in-four new car buyers is now going electric, with the number of EVs registered up by over 34 per cent compared to the same time last year. Vauxhall suggested property agents may be missing an opportunity to demonstrate a feature of a house or flat that is becoming increasingly vital for customers. Zoopla's EV-friendly search criteria features will help EV drivers who need access to charging where they live - whether in a flat or a house - and is the latest move in Vauxhall's Electric Streets of Britain campaign. Visitors to the Zoopla website and app can now filter properties to only show those with an EV home charger. They can also locate the closest public charging point to a property thanks to map and location data provided by Octopus Electroverse. Similar to how Zoopla currently displays information regarding the closest schools and train stations, the website and app will now also display information on the distance between a home and nearest public charging point across property listings. Daniel Copley, consumer expert at Zoopla, said: 'We're proud to be the first property website to offer consumers the ability to find the nearest on-street chargers to a property, and filter properties with home-charging. 'Buyer requirements are constantly evolving as a result of factors like lifestyle changes and commuting patterns. By improving Zoopla's search functionality, our aim is that we will empower more confident moving decisions, particularly for current and future EV owners.' Vauxhall's poll of 2,000 people found that a third of respondents admit a lack of accessible EV charging would actually deter them from moving into a specific property - a figure that rises to a massive 84 per cent for electric car owners. And more than half of respondents to Vauxhall's research said they would find it useful if property websites showed the proximity of the nearest on-street EV charging points for individual listings. As average UK homeowners stay in their property for around 17 years, homes being purchased today will take buyers well beyond the introduction of the forthcoming ban of new petrol and diesel car sales in 2030 for the vast majority of movers. Steve Catlin, managing director at Vauxhall, said: 'Moving house is one of the biggest decisions most of us make in our lifetime, and anyone who's done it knows how much effort can go into finding the perfect home. 'As EVs become an even more common sight on our roads, more and more people will be prioritising charging access when thinking about where to live.' Can you install an EV charger if you're renting? This time last year This is Money was asked about EV charger installation if people are renting a property or planning to move. Tenants shouldn't do this without getting permission from their landlord first. However, if they are willing, getting your landlord to install an electric car charger will not only make charging your EV much easier and less expensive, but could also add value to the property. According to the Open Property Group, the addition of an home charger will add around 1.7 per cent to the value of a property, which translates to £4,840 (based on the average house price of £284,691). If a tenant is able to liaise with a landlord and get a written agreement drawn up, then it could benefit both parties. Will dictate house prices in the future? We asked EV charger provider Cord if chargers will add value to property. It said that generally a charger will add value, but a person might have a particular charging brand they use and won't want to move to a house with a different charger. Cord said they don't see this as a big risk in the future because there is a lot of standardisation across chargers. While some extra features might be exclusive to certain brands most modern chargers can charge cars well and features like off-peak tariffs are becoming more standard. Much more important to most EV drivers is the availability of off-street parking. Cord told us: 'We definitely do see chargers as adding serious value to homes. And in not too long, homes without chargers will be far harder to let - just like homes without broadband are tough to let currently.'
