Goodison Park is unique and beautiful, you will never find a ground like this again... says lifelong Everton fan

Daily Mail18-05-2025

This place means everything to us. I first came to Goodison Park in 1979 with my dad and I come now with my brothers and our families. He passed Everton on to us and we've passed it on to the next generation.
This place brings the family together and brings friends together. We've come here every two weeks for decades and I can assure you that you will never find a football ground like this again. It's unique and beautiful.
There's a reason why we call her the 'Grand Old Lady' because it's everything a football ground should be.
I know everybody says it, but my favourite memory was that night against Bayern Munich in 1985, when the Gwladys Street stand literally sucked the ball into the net.
Nights like those showed you the power of Goodison and even this season, in the draw with Liverpool when James Tarkowski scored a late equaliser, it was a reminder of what we are capable of.
Of course, we are all emotional. I cried three times before and during the game and I'm sure I'll cry again, because this place is a part of my life, where so many memories have been made.
If you're not a football fan, you'll never understand it. My dad taught us to support Everton, but it wasn't just that. It's about values and principles and looking after one another.
It's up to each of us now to make sure we don't lose any of our tradition and passion with the move.
We must take everything out of here, bottle it and take it to the Mersey, because it's time for Everton to move forward.

Is 'bad attitude' useful? Fans on Cunha signing

We asked for your views on Matheus Cunha signing for Manchester are some of your comments:Nick: I'm happy with this. We're creating, but not scoring, so getting someone in who has experience scoring in the Premier League can only be a good I think it is a fantastic signing in this struggling Manchester United era. I see hope because he can play in so many positions in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 and United need goals, that's all they Cunha has the skills but does he have the temperament for the most 'under the microscope' and 'under pressure' club currently in the world? I hope so but so much needs to change around him to get the best from him. Let's hope Amorim's plan gets the support from the boardroom. I'm still holding my At last; the right player, at the right price and at the right age. What could go wrong?Karl: Definitely a step in the right direction. His stats say he has everything we've been missing - awareness, speed, balance, a finishing edge and above all, confidence. Can't wait to see how he works alongside the likes of Amad, Fernandes and Yes, he's renowned for his 'bad attitude' but that's just because he wants to win, which is an attitude sadly lacking in quite a few of our current squad. I seem to recall a certain Mr Cantona was slated for his attitude when we signed him!

It is a huge increase on the £120,000-a-month wages he took home while at Wolves. The Brazilian winger is now one of the higest-earning players at United. Casemiro, Fernandes, Rashford and Antony have all been linked with a move away. Fernandes could be the biggest loss for the Red Devils should he leave. The Portuguese midfielder allegedly received an offer worth £700,000-a-week from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal last week. United were also offered a £100m fee to sign him. However, head coach Ruben Amorim insists he wants the midfielder to stay at Old Trafford. Rashford, meanwhile, is expected to leave having fallen out with Amorim prior to his Aston Villa loan spell.
