As influencers drop thousands on Hamptons getaways, here are the hot spots that are worth the hype

Ah, Montauk. Once a haven for eccentric fishermen, the coastal town known lovingly as The End of the World has become a place to see and be seen among the influencer set. While some insist Montauk is NOT the Hamptons (even if the maps say otherwise), the evolution of the place is undeniable, as evidenced by the brand new Bagatelle beach club that popped up just days ago on its shores, adding Montauk to the ranks of Courchevel, St. Barths, and St. Tropez. The 'out east' lore has become a siren song to over-worked city dwellers longing for a for a beachy getaway that is only a Hampton Jitney bus ride away. Social media influencers clad in breezy Zimmermann linen sets smile over glasses of rosé and $97 lobster cobb salads, hinting at an idyllic slice of coastal joy that is so close you can taste it - if you happen to have a few thousand dollars to spare. Should you embark on a journey to The End, it is imperative that you have a plan to maximize your hard earned money and time away from work. Where to stay The decision of where to rest your head is perhaps the most important choice in shaping your stay out east. Will you wake up to the sounds of the ocean, or will you wake up in a stranger's childhood bedroom that was converted into a vacation rental? While some say that a shared house is the ideal way to enjoy the Hamptons, the fact is, most share houses are situated in residential neighborhoods that are not necessarily near a beach. Driving to the beach also poses a challenge, as parking passes are often required (and in short supply). Many of these homes also do not have a pool - and the ones that do are not much cheaper than a hotel. To ensure that your beach vacation actually includes a beach, smart travelers may consider a stay at Marram Montauk - one of the few hotels that sits along the water rather than further inland. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the hotel provided Daily Mail with a look at its luxurious offerings - including ocean front rooms, daily yoga, world class surf instruction, and top notch food from Mostrador, the in-house restaurant. Each guest room is luxuriously appointed with high thread count linens by Frette and indulgent soaps by high-end parfumier Le Labo. Views from the oceanfront suites are unmatched. Sip coffee on your balcony and watch the surfers ride the legendary Montauk waves - or try your hand on a board with a lesson from the famous Engstrom family, who operate a surf shack on the premises. Room rates at Marram start as low as $207 per night during the month of June, but can soar to as much as $1515 per night during the high season in August. Plan ahead to get the best prices. Where to eat One of the most charming aspects of a stay in the Hamptons is that breakfast is deeply engrained in the culture. A fluffy pastry and an iced coffee are essential to starting the day off right. Mostrador makes all of its pastries in-house, making it a must-visit destination in the area, specifically for its Medialunas - Argentinian croissants - which sell out every morning. At lunch time, did at the hotel or make your way over to Duryea's - a seafood restaurant with stunning views of the water. The restaurant has gone viral for its $97 lobster cobb salad, which I grudgingly admit is worth every penny. The massive bowl of lettuce, bacon, and seafood is enough to feed an army, so be sure to bring at least four people to enjoy it with (and to split the bill). Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere, which will have you questioning whether you are still in New York. For snacks, Round Swamp Farm is a must-visit, even if only to say that you went. Round Swamp is a high-end grocery store which has been erroneously accused of selling $40 chicken tenders. They are actually $22.99, and while that is still not cheap, it is not far off from the rising price of food at major restaurant chains. As for the taste, while the tenders are perfectly crispy and juicy, they are lacking in flavor. If you are seeking the best chicken of your life, you are better off visiting an actual restaurant. However, Round Swamp's baked goods and produce are another story. Pick a ripe peach and a bag of Campfire Cookies (priced at $12.99). For dinner, head over to The Grill at Ruschmeyers to dine at what can only be described as an elegant summer camp for adults. Indulge in anything from caviar-topped crudo to the restaurant's self-described 'Best Burger in Montauk.' While I have not tasted every burger in Montauk, I can confirm that this one is pretty darn good. Where to go out If morning yoga and surfing lessons haven't worn you out for the day, Montauk has no shortage of nighttime activities - in fact it is arguably the nightlife epicenter out east. While much has been said of the scene at Surf Lodge, (viral videos have documented the daunting task of gaining entry, with some paying up to $500 to get in) 2025 has brought fresh opportunities for party people to get their fix. Celebrated nightclub Gospel NYC is having a summer pop-up inside Ruschmeyer's, offering guests the opportunity to rage all night before crashing in a luxe cabin, stocked with sumptuous Byredo soaps. For those traveling with families, or who simply have no desire to party, Marram offers a truly glorious beachside bonfire, complete with s'mores. After a jam-packed weekend, a spa day is crucial. Head to Naturopathica spa in East Hampton (there is another location soon to follow at Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton. Treat yourself to a facial followed by some shopping on Main Street before heading back home to the grind of work.

WildLuing on the Scottish island of Luing was created by Jack and his wife Emily after they were inspired while living in Kenya. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 5 Each of the lodges has been individually hand-crafted Credit: 5 There are eight different lodges all looking over Torsa Bay Credit: WildLuing has eight self-catered glamping suites, called WildSuites, that overlook Torsa Bay where you can regularly spot seals and otters. Something Jack and Emily said they liked about the Kenya lodges was that groups would gather for meals in a large communal space, then go back to their cabins. Each pod is custom built and there are some where you can bring along a furry friend too. And inside each of the lodges is a super king bed, which can be split into doubles if necessary, as well as a shower - and some even have a roll top bath. Cleverly, all of the cabins are positioned differently so no matter which you stay in, you will get views of the bay. Prices for the cabins start from £195 per night and each sleeps two. Unlike most other campsites, there's no shops or pubs, it's all about getting back to nature. As a result, on-site is a communal lounge and dining room. And it's a hit with visitors having been described as 'bucket list material.' The biggest place on-site is The Observatory which hosts up to 20 guests. Scotland's Cheapest & Most Expensive Coastal Towns 5 The Observatory is available for events like yoga retreats and wedding receptions Credit: 5 The outdoor area has views over Torsa Bay Credit: It has views over Torsa Bay and is completely open-plan with a kitchen, pantry, dining area and cosy living room. You can't actually stay overnight but it can be hired out to use for yoga retreats, cooking school, dining events, wild swimming groups, and wedding receptions, according to the website. Around the bay is various types of wildlife, and from the private deck you'll be able to spot otters as well as grey and common seals. For the lucky ones, you might even see dolphins. The Isle of Luing is one of the Slate Islands in the west of Argyll in Scotland and has a population of just 200 people. WildLuing launched three years ago, and has received lots of positive reviews from visitors. One wrote on Tripadvisor: "Wowsers. If you haven't been, then this should be bucket-list material." Another added: "Wild Luing was simply sensational on all fronts." To get to the Isle of Luing, you'll need to get a ferry from North Cuan. Here's the UK's highest campsite has cosy camping pods and views of the country's tallest mountain. And more campsites in the UK near water to with sea views and luxury cabins.

With views stretching from the Mediterranean to the hilltop of Montjuïc, this is sundowner heaven, with a cocktail list to match. 6 Barcelona's Park Guell is a swell spot to chill out in 6 Be a beach babe and catch some rays Credit: Getty Images 6 The infinity pool and beyond at the Grand Hotel Central Credit: Supplied As I sip a Solera's Delight – a mix of rum, vanilla syrup and chocolate bitters that tastes like golden hour in a glass, £14.50 – while Balearic beats play, I can't think of a cooler spot to celebrate my first wedding anniversary with husband Nick. Go gaudi You'll find The Grand Hotel Central in the bustling Old Town – not that you'd know it once you cross the imposing 1920s facade. With a marble lobby and wood-panelled library, plus a spa, sunrise yoga and staff who can't do enough to help, this is a chic oasis of calm. Our superior room is equally stylish, with a rainfall shower and a bed so comfy we wish we could bring it home. Dinner at the hotel's Restaurant Can Bo offers a fusion of Spanish tapas with an Italian twist served in a lively, Mediterranean-inspired space. Top marks for the octopus brioche, £6.80, tagliatelle with oxtail ragu, £14.50, white asparagus in carbonara sauce, £11, and the decadent chocolate three ways, £7.65. As tempting as it is to chill at the hotel, Nick and I venture out to explore. The hop-on, hop-off bus takes you everywhere from Barceloneta beach to Catalan architect Gaudi's awe-inspiring Sagrada Familia basilica. Day tickets cost £25.25 per person ( Gaudi's magical Park Guell is a must-see. With jaw-dropping buildings, sculptures and mosaics, this architectural wonder leaves us speechless. Entry costs £15.30 per person ( Martin Lewis gives travel advice about checking your passport Take a ramblas The following day, fortified by a top-notch buffet breakfast, we mooch around the Gothic Quarter and El Born – two districts that form a labyrinth of cobbled streets, lined with bars, shops, restaurants and galleries. Nick picks up a shirt in Humana Vintage, while I can't resist a ceramic plate from Artesanat, plus a huge pistachio cinnamon roll from bakery Demasie, £3.50 (@Cookies_demasie). Food market Mercat de Santa Caterina delivers another gastronomical marvel in the form of cheese and Iberian ham cones, £4.25, which have lived rent-free in my head ever since. Fearing gout is imminent, we take a stroll around Parc de la Ciutadella, with its golden Cascada Monumental waterfall and lake, then hit the Picasso Museum. 6 Sleep in style in a Grand Suite at the Grand Hotel Central Credit: Supplied 6 Take your pick of Picasso pics at the Picasso Museum With an extensive collection of the artist's early work, it's well worth the visit. Entry costs £14.50 per person ( No Barcelona trip is complete without seeing the boulevard of Las Ramblas, thronged with tourists, locals, flower sellers and street performers. To rest our legs, we grab daiquiris, £11.50, in Boadas, Barcelona's oldest cocktail bar, beloved by everyone from Hemingway to Dalí. The tiny room with art-deco furnishings and tuxedo-wearing bartenders, is like stepping back in time. With time for one final indulgence, we hit restaurant Sagardi Argenteria for Barceloneta Bombas – a local speciality of meatballs encased in potato and breadcrumbs, then deep-fried and served with spicy brava sauce, £2.20 a pop – and swear to return for our second anniversary. Gout permitting. FYI Double rooms cost from £250 a night ( UK return flights to Barcelona with Vueling cost from £56 (
