The Warhawks (7-25) were led in scoring by Jalen Bolden, who finished with 21 points. Tyreese Watson added 15 points and two steals for No. 14 seed ULM. AD Diedhiou finished with 15 points.
Louisiana entered halftime up 26-24. El Moutaouakkil paced the team in scoring in the first half with 10 points. Thomas scored 16 second-half points as Louisiana and ULM ended regulation tied 63-63. El Moutaouakkil scored their seven overtime points while going 2 of 2 and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.

NEW YORK (AP) — Around 8 p.m. Monday, Iga Swiatek was holding up her Cincinnati Open championship trophy. Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, she was getting ready for her mixed doubles match at the U.S. Open in New York City. It's been a quick turnaround. 'This was the most extreme situation and most extreme schedule I've had after a title win,' Swiatek, currently ranked second in the world, said Tuesday afternoon. 'An hour and a half after the match, we already went to catch a plane.' But that didn't slow her down. Carlos Alcaraz, the men's champion in Cincinnati, faced a similar turnaround to his afternoon doubles match with Emma Raducanu. He did have a few more hours on each end, given the scheduling of both tournaments. Alcaraz was knocked out of mixed doubles Tuesday afternoon, but Swiatek and Ruud will be back in action Wednesday. 'Iga will have a good sleep tonight,' said Ruud. 'She deserves that.'

MADRID (AP) — Kylian Mbappé got off to a scoring start in his second season with Real Madrid, leading the team to a 1-0 victory over Osasuna in their Spanish league opener Tuesday. Mbappé, the leading scorer in his debut with Madrid last season, converted a 51st-minute penalty kick to give the hosts the victory. A nice run by Mbappé through the right side of the area, followed by a neat cutback move, prompted the foul. Wings center Li Yueru is out for the season after spraining a knee ligament
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Dallas Wings center Li Yueru will miss the rest of the season after spraining the ACL in her left knee against the Los Angeles Sparks last week. The team said Tuesday the 26-year-old from China is expected to make a full recovery. Li was injured in a 97-96 loss to the Sparks on Friday. She averaged 7.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in her third WNBA season, which was split between Seattle and Dallas. Li was traded in June. The injury to the 6-foot-7 Li is the latest in a series of setbacks for the Wings, who are mired near the bottom of the standings for a second consecutive season. They had the No. 1 pick in the draft this past spring and selected star guard Paige Bueckers. While Bueckers is a heavy favorite to be named WNBA Rookie of the Year, the Wings entered Tuesday with the third-worst record in the league.
