Queensberry Promotions returns to Scotland as Josh Taylor steps into the ring with Ekow Essuman tonight.
An all-Scottish affair will also take place on the card, with unbeaten former British champion Nathaniel Collins locking horns with former European bantamweight champion Lee McGregor.

Thirty-four-year-old Taylor makes the step up to the welterweight division following his controversial defeat to Jack Catterall last year - the rematch of their 2022 encounter where Taylor was victorious.

The Scotsman's opponent, Essuman, has lost just one fight in his professional career, knocking out eight of 22 opponents. He has previously held the WBC International Silver, British, Commonwealth and IBF European titles.
That sole defeat came in 2023, where he lost to Harry Scarff by unanimous decision. He has won his last two fights against Ben Vaughan and Owen Cooper, which both took place last year.
Also fighting on this card is young British heavyweight Moses Itauma. One of the youngest heavyweights in the division, he turned professional in 2023 and has won all of his 11 fights so far, with nine knockouts.

Queensberry head honcho Frank Warren said: "I am delighted to have Josh as a Queensberry fighter for his welterweight journey, and he will be tested, believe me, by his opponent in Ekow Essuman tonight.
"Ekow is a proper fighter and someone I hold in the highest regard. He has been with us a long time and has delivered the goods, winning plenty of titles and always giving entertainment value to the fans. If it wasn't for a slip-up at the end of 2023, Ekow would have fought for a world title by now, but he has built himself back and taken part in two thrilling fights since then."

Tuesday's briefing: Crystal Palace to meet UEFA officials and Mason moves on

Palace must show UEFA's club financial control body (CFCB) that they do not fall foul of its multi-club ownership rules. There has been a change at Tottenham as it was announced on Monday night that first-team coach Ryan Mason had left to take over as West Brom boss, but there is still no news on the future of Ange Postecoglou. Palace's European tour on hold? Palace qualified for the Europa League after they stunned Manchester City at Wembley to clinch FA Cup final success on May 17. However, John Textor holds a 43 per cent stake in Palace through his company Eagle Football and he is also the owner of French club Lyon, who qualified for the Europa League with a sixth-placed finish in Ligue 1. No individual is allowed to have a significant say in the running of two clubs competing in the same UEFA competition and the CFCB would have to make a ruling on any potential breach. PA understands Palace are confident no rules have been breached owing to the fact that Textor – through Eagle Football – has only a 25 per cent share of voting rights alongside fellow principal owners Josh Harris, David Blitzer and chairman Steve Parish. Parish is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the club. Mason moves on Introducing our new men's first team Head Coach, Ryan Mason! 💙🤍 — West Bromwich Albion (@WBA) June 2, 2025 Ryan Mason ended his lengthy association with Tottenham on Monday to accept his first permanent managerial role as West Brom boss. West Brom quickly made Mason, 33, their leading candidate to replace Tony Mowbray after the veteran was dismissed on April 21. Spurs' roller-coaster 2024-25 campaign only ended on May 25 but after a short holiday, Mason decided to accept the advances of the Championship club and agreed a three-year deal to become the youngest head coach in the second tier. Once-capped England midfielder Mason spent 17 years at Tottenham as a player before a further seven years as a coach after he was forced to retire in 2018 after he fractured his skull in a Premier League match. A firm offer was made on Friday but the Bundesliga side are holding out for a fee closer to £125m and talks are continuing. Chelsea, meanwhile, completed the signing of midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting in time for him to be registered to feature in this month's Club World Cup. Elsewhere, Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has reportedly decided to join Manchester United this summer despite interest from other Premier League clubs. Wiegman 'pretty close' to knowing Euro 2025 squad England face Spain in the Women's Nations League in their final competitive fixture before the defence of their European Championship title this summer. Sarina Wiegman will cast an eye over her squad for one last time in Barcelona before she is forced to whittle down her options. However, the Euros-winning head coach admitted on Monday that she was 'pretty close' to knowing her squad before a Group A3 clash which will determine who progresses into the competition's finals. 'We're pretty close. Still of course you want to go to the game tomorrow and make the final decisions, but we're pretty close,' Wiegman revealed. What's on today? In addition to England's fixture with Spain, already-relegated Scotland are also in Nations League top-tier action as they visit the Netherlands. Wales, assured of bottom spot in Group A4, entertain Italy, whilst Northern Ireland travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina in Group B1 and Republic of Ireland could still clinch promotion from Group B2 if they can beat leaders Slovenia.

Liverpool prepare record transfer offer as final Florian Wirtz obstacle emerges

Liverpool are looking to add more talent to their team and negotiations are underway with Leverkusen to secure a deal for Florian Wirtz in a deal that could set a British record Liverpool wasted little time in getting to work in the transfer market after winning the Premier League title in Arne Slot's first season. The Reds boss inspired his side to victory despite limited transfer activity last summer but there's been a change in tact this year. The Anfield side have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen having allowed Trent Alexander-Arnold to exit. The full-back joined Real Madrid a month before his contract expired, with the Merseyside team bringing in £10million. ‌ And now Liverpool are looking to add more talent to their team. Negotiations are underway with Leverkusen to secure a deal for Florian Wirtz in a deal that could set a British record. ‌ Slot is also looking to bolster his options at the back with a bid expected for Milos Kerkez. The Bournemouth defender is expected to add competition for Andy Robertson. Wirtz obstacle Bayer Leverkusen still expect Florian Wirtz to join Liverpool despite rejecting two offers, it has been claimed. The Reds' second bid fell short of Leverkusen's £126m asking price but they continue to lead the race to sign the superstar. According to Bild, Leverkusen higher-ups don't consider the move to be in jeopardy and the transfer fee is the only remaining obstacle. The same outlet reports that Liverpool and Wirtz have already agreed terms. A players-plus cash deal could offer a solution, while another suggestion is Liverpool could present a bid which will only hit Leverkusen's valuations if bonuses are triggered. Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah are among those being touted if the German club get a player as part of the transfer. ‌ Deco on Barca business Barcelona sporting director Deco says that targets Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz should not be expecting any imminent transfer offers. In an interview with BBC Sport, the former Portugal international explained the club's priorities currently lie elsewhere. "We have been focusing on renewing contracts, after that, we'll discuss players to come," he said. "Of course, these two players, like you mentioned, they are good but have contracts in their clubs, so we won't speak because it's not fair. But when you decide to go to the market, for sure, we find some names. In my opinion, we don't need to bring many players. "When I speak with the agents of the players, everyone wants to come or stay. So this is important. The image of the club is still good. We are proud because Barcelona is still such a big club, and the way we are playing football makes players want to come." ‌ Wirtz approval Liverpool's Fenway Sports Group (FSG) ownership have sanctioned the prospect of a British record bid to sign Florian Wirtz, according to reports. The Reds could now make a £118m bid for the Germany ace, a larger fee than Chelsea paid for former Liverpool target Moises Caicedo. The Anfield side are said to preparing to make their third offer in the coming days having twice not met Bayer Leverkusen's demands.
