William shows off football skills in partnership with Street Soccer Scotland

William joined a practice session run by Street Soccer Scotland, being backed by his Royal Foundation, which will fund a range of initiatives at the charity's branch in Leith, near Edinburgh.
The financial support from the foundation's Community Impact Project will also help the charity create Leith United – a collaboration with Leith Community Centre and YMCA Edinburgh.
The prince met YMCA user Shaniah Gilgun, aged 10, and learnt about her efforts with other youngsters to improve housing conditions in the area, but the conversation turned to football when he spotted a poster of Aston Villa.
Villa fan William mentioned the club's captain, who also leads the Scottish national side, telling Shaniah: 'Maybe I should bring John McGinn… might have to wait till he retires – we'll put it in the pipeline.'
He added: 'He promised me he would come up and show me around.'
After asking a group of children about their football teams during his visit to the community centre, he said of son Prince Louis: 'My youngest supports five different teams now.'
Shaniah later mentioned William's praise for her housing campaign: 'He said it was a really good thing and that we should keep doing it and only good will come out of it.
'When he mentioned John McGinn, I said, 'That's a deal'.'
Street Soccer Scotland was founded by David Duke in Leith in 2009 before he opened centres across Scotland to deliver free football-themed training and personal development programmes to support people experiencing issues like poor mental health, addiction, homelessness and isolation.
The charity will use the Royal Foundation grant to renovate Leith Community Centre, enhance sports-based initiatives at the site, enable outreach work in the community and fund an impact manager over three years to co-ordinate grassroots leaders and local partnerships.
During the visit William saw a range of groups who use the centre, from flamenco and kung fu classes to a group of amateur paintings who impressed the prince.
Mr Duke, who is an official supporter of William's Homewards homeless initiative, said after the visit: 'So obviously to have the support of the Royal Foundation is fantastic.
'Their vision is to try and create community impact and they're looking at places and spaces where they can create that.'
He added: 'It's about the long-term support from the wider Royal Foundation team, they can help us create almost a blueprint for change and they've already started working with us on a kind of theory of change, in terms of how we can use this space and the partnerships to make a difference.'

Grant Hanley snapped up by Scottish Premiership club as Scotland star eyes instant Euro debut

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) GRANT HANLEY could make a shock Euro debut for Hibs after signing for the Easter Road club. SunSport first revealed David Gray's interest in the 33-year-old Scotland international last week. 3 Grant Hanley with David Marshall at Easter Road Credit: Kenny Ramsay 3 Grant Hanley trains with Scotland Credit: Kenny Ramsay The defender last night penned a two-year deal and will travel with Gray's squad to Belgrade later today. And that has put him in contention for tomorrow night's Conference League Play-Off with Partizan Belgrade. Gray said: 'It's great to be able to bring Grant to the Club. "He's performed at a top-level throughout his career and has a real desire to compete at the highest level in his home nation. 'He's a strong, robust defender that can play in any role across our back three. 'He's a real leader both on and off the pitch and a player of his experience will add a lot to the team. I look forward to working with him. 'He's a really good character, captain, leader everywhere he's been, and an international football player. "So it just shows you where we are, that we're able to attract that level of calibre of player.' Gray revealed Hanley had been training with former club Norwich to keep fit over the summer. So he'll continue to monitor his condition before making a call on whether to include him tomorrow night. Scottish football cult hero Mixu Paatelainen plays Quickfire Questions, Winner Stays On & Career Quiz He said: 'He's been working with Norwich, I believe, their under-23s. So he's been doing a lot of work with them, which is positive. That keeps him ticking over. 'Again, it's testament to the type of person he is, that he wants to keep himself going, knowing one thing he will do is he'll know his body better than anybody else. "We'll not be throwing him into a situation where he's not ready to do it or taking any chances or risks within that. 'So until it does happen, if it does happen, we'll make sure we're all doing the best we can to get him in as safely, as quickly as we can.' Hanley's arrival will help offset the departure of Lewis Miller, who has joined Blackburn for a seven-figure fee. And Gray hopes the Aussie star's move will help attract further transfer targets to choose Hibs in the future. He said: "I think there's been a lot of positive examples of that. You look at John McGinn, Ryan Porteous, Josh Doig, players that came through, and what that can then lead to and the doors it can open. 3 Grant Hanley won a title with Blackburn Credit: Getty 'Millsy, when he came to the club, always had aspirations to play in England. It's something he talked a lot about and I think he always believed his attributes would lend itself to that. 'He had a lot of work to do, but it shows you the calibre of this club and coming and playing here and what that can do for you. He's a full internationalist now. "There's a lot of players that have done that as well. Rocky Bushiri, now a full internationalist. 'When you're playing at this level, at a high level, for such a big club, international managers notice that as well. "So it's all, I've said it many times, everything's geared up at this football club to be successful on and off the pitch and it's about my job to make sure the performances on the pitch replicate that." Hugh Laurie and Matthew Macfadyen to star in Harry Potter audiobook series

The stars are among 200 actors lending their voices to bring to life the characters from JK Rowling's wizarding world for an immersive audio series, Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions. Laurie, best known for starring in the medical drama series House, has been cast as Hogwarts Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, while Macfadyen will voice antagonist Lord Voldemort. Laurie said: 'I'm honoured to have been trusted with the keys to Albus Dumbledore, and thrilled to be able to take him around the track of this beautiful incarnation by Pottermore and Audible. 'I'm also deeply conscious of previous drivers Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, Jude Law and the iconic narrations by Jim Dale and m'colleague Sir Stephen Fry. Just below the horizon, but headed our way, is the rough beast John Lithgow, his hour come round at last. This is great company, and it's a privilege to be among their number.' The novels have previously been produced into single-voice recordings by Jim Dale and Stephen Fry. Produced by Audible and Pottermore Publishing, the new audiobook series will include a full cast, original music and real-world sound capture to create an immersive audio experience. Emmy award-winning actor, Riz Ahmed, also joins the cast as Professor Snape alongside Scottish actress Michelle Gomez who will voice Professor McGonagall and Cush Jumbo as the narrator. Rachel Ghiazza, chief content officer at Audible, said: 'Magic is coming alive as these brilliant actors lift iconic characters off the page and into our ears. 'Hearing these spellbinding performances in our state-of-the-art studios has been nothing short of extraordinary. We're overjoyed to share that fans of all ages can now mark their autumn calendars for a truly breathtaking experience with Audible and Pottermore Publishing – one that promises to reignite the magic for longtime fans and captivate a whole new generation of listeners.' Newcomers Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton will play Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger respectively in audiobooks one, two and three. From audiobook four through to the last book in the series, the three protagonists will be played by Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis (Harry, Ron, and Hermione respectively). It comes after production for the new HBO TV adaptation of the popular fantasy novels began earlier this summer. Each season of the show will be a faithful adaptation of the Harry Potter books, from author and executive producer JK Rowling. The novels had already been made into movies with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint playing the trio. The first of the seven audiobooks, Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, will be released on November 4 followed by Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets on December 16. The remaining books will be released monthly in the new year starting with Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban on January 13 2026, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire on February 10, and Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix on March 10. Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince will be out on April 14 with the final book of the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, scheduled to be released on May 12. Additional cast members will be announced this autumn.
