Fans in frenzy as staple 2010s drink re-appears in Irish sweet shop
For those who are maybe too young to remember Jones Soda, the 'craft' soda was made with cane sugar, and came in 'different' flavours ranging from green apple to bubblegum (which was blue for some reason — although it was the most memorable flavour!)

The shop, which sells international candy, went viral after sharing that they had an array of Jones flavours, with people commenting that they haven't had a drink of it in years (yours truly included).
'Haven't had Jones in about 15 years,' one person commented. 'I thought they stopped doing them. I used to enjoy the green one, full of sugar mind you,' while another commented 'Blue Jones! Haven't drank a bottle of that in years.'

Jones Soda is still around (albeit in far smaller quantities), and started in 1995. Despite its flavours being considered different in any sense, they've also released even more bizarre flavours; including bacon in 2010 (yes, seriously) poutine soda (right), and 'invisible' soda, where no flavours or ingredients were listed, rather just a photo (okay, that one sounds pretty funny).
They also released 'seasonal' sodas over the years, including Christmas ham soda, Egg Nog soda, and 'Big Ass Canned Ham' soda (we're not sure what their obsession with ham flavoured soda was, either).

If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket to see Oasis in Dublin this weekend, get ready for a truly unforgettable experience. The sun is expected to shine on concertgoers, setting the perfect scene for the Gallagher brothers to unleash a set packed with their greatest hits and fan favourites. This tour marks Noel and Liam Gallagher's first live performances together in over 16 years, following a famously bitter public feud that saw the band break up in 2009 and left millions of fans heartbroken. But now, the iconic Britpop band are back and stronger than ever, with tickets for their Croke Park shows this Saturday and Sunday selling out in less than a day. The excitement in Dublin is already palpable as Oasis prepares to perform to a combined 160,000 fans over two nights - their first Irish gig since 2008. After finally putting their differences aside last year, the brothers announced their highly anticipated reunion tour. With legendary anthems like 'Wonderwall', 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Champagne Supernova' almost guaranteed to echo around GAA HQ, fans can expect a show that blends nostalgia, spectacle and the unmistakable energy that only Oasis can deliver. Even ham sandwiches from home are off limits. So is any kind of food - except where otherwise stated - along with air horns, flagpoles, selfie sticks and more. Anyone turning up with a pram, a camera with a detachable lens or even a fold-up chair will be stopped at the gates, as organisers MCD crack down with strict entry rules. While food, alcohol and cans aren't allowed in, fans won't go hungry or thirsty. Organisers have confirmed a variety of options will be available inside, along with free water points. Cork Jazz Fest: First acts announced for the super popular October Bank Holiday festival
The first acts for this year's Guinness Cork Jazz Festival have been announced, offering jazz lovers everything from contemporary innovators to emerging Irish talent. The Cork Jazz Festival will once again bring a swing to the city from Thursday, October 23 to Monday, October 27, and tickets go on sale this Friday. The line-up of acts announced this week includes Cymande, whose infectious blend of funk, soul, reggae and Afrobeat helped influence much of the modern music landscape, JP Cooper, known for his soulful vocals and crossover hits, and the legendary Senegalese band Orchestra Baobab with their signature blend of West African and Afro Cuban brass arrangements and soulful harmonies. A festival highlight will be The Pharcyde, marking 30 years of Labcabincalifornia. The influential LA hip-hop group will revisit their jazz-soaked second album, produced in part by the late J Dilla. Tom Keating will also host a number of shows at Cork City Hall. Cymande will play this year's Cork Jazz Festival. New York, New York! Bold Irish-American musical heads Stateside
An original and bold Irish musical is making its way stateside to tell the story of a young Irish-American man chasing stardom in 1950s New York. Most Peculiar Dreams brings audiences into a world of ambition, fame and betrayal with an unflinching look at the darker side of the entertainment industry. Following a successful run in venues across Ireland, writer and composer Fergus Foran and his team are heading to New York. An original and bold Irish musical is making its way stateside to tell the story of a young Irish-American man chasing stardom in 1950s New York. Pic: Youtube Most Peculiar Dreams tells the story of young Irish-American man Shawn Donnelly Jr who is chasing stardom in 1950s New York, with his journey leading him to a seedy nightclub run by Bobby Collier. Here, Shawn becomes involved with the club's star performer Henritetta Harmon, and so grapples with power, manipulation and identity. Writer/composer Fergus Foran explained that they had set out to 'create a show that felt familiar… until it didn't.' He said: 'Most Peculiar Dreams walks you into a world where you think that you now and then pulls the rug out from under you.' One of the most compelling aspects of the musical is the music, which wasn't written merely to accompany the plot, but is actually an essential part of telling the story. Rousing ensemble numbers feature in the piece along with emotionally charged ballads, all of which shift seamlessly between various styles, adding emotional weight to the narrative. To date, the musical boasts 1 million soundtrack steams along with more than 185,000 video views — a testament to the show's powerful reach, which has extended beyond the borders of Ireland.
